Disney’s latest animated feature, the gay, green Strange World, just tanked at the box office.
Gee, what a shock. You mean no one wants to waste their Thanksgiving weekend having their children prematurely sexualized by groomers with a side order of enviro-guilt? This should do wonders for Disney’s already cratered stock price. Strange World cost anywhere from $150 million to $180 million to produce. Add at least another $50 to $100 million to promote, and what you have here is a straight-up catastrophe, a quarter of a billion — with a “B” — write-off.

Disney is not releasing this show in around 20 countries; and, they've done no marketing on the film. It's not a surprise to the WDC that it's a flop. (Encanto turned into a massive family friendly hit on Disney+. This movie will just take up server space.)
Every single project released to date and for maybe 2 - 3 years into the future are Bob Iger's, not Chapek's.
All is fine at Disney. All major multi-billion dollar American corporations fire their CEOs in a blind panic on a Sunday night and replace that CEO with predecessor who designed and built the cause of the panic. It's the American way.

Silly me, I always thought a corporation's main purpose was to make money for their stockholders by bringing products and/or services that the public wants, needs or will spend disposable money to purchase.
Disney is typical Hollywood, they are going to beat you with their superior knowledge of wokeness.
Too bad we took out son to Disney World multiple times in the 90's and early 2000's. Now, I wouldn't spend a dime with them.

A former coworker took her family to Disney World in the early 2000s. Unfortunately her visit coincided with some "gay friendly" week promotion there. She spent the entire visit trying to distract her kids from the freak show that was taking place all over the park. She told me she'd never go back.

"... a quarter of a billion write-off." Write-off? I guess we're not playing with real money here.

Another Disney woke groomer movie production falling flat on its face, unfortunately they will never learn, perpetual denial is the way of the demented, delusional, and depraved Left.

Beyond Disney, went to see Glass Onion yesterday. Entertaining but mostly tedious follow-up (no Jamie Lee Curtis, though). The previews, however - a choice between movies about blacks (Creed III), gays (

Don't know what happened to my previous submittal, but:
...(Knock at the Cabin), or already tiresome CGI sequals (Avatar: The Way of Water, Ant-Man and the Wasp). It wasn't long ago that the major studios fretted over the cable-movie explosion replacing the theater-going experience. It didn't, but in an ironic twist it might be the studios themselves that drive theaters out of business.

The CEO of Disney reports to the Board of Directors who are put in place and are directly controlled by Disney’s stockholders. About two thirds of Disney's stock are in the hands of institutional investors (who manage 'your' retirement money.) The primary owners are Blackrock, Vanguard, State Street and possibly natural persons such as Lauren Jobs (in an institutional capacity) and others. Reimagining Tomorrow, rebuilding Disney parks to "reflect today", immersing 8 year old in sexual politics all all done at the direction and approval of the "stockholders" (the Board.) No Disney CEO (including Chapek) dare do otherwise.
You did this through your retirement plans.

FTA: Disney has become a company no decent parent will dare leave their child alone with.
That pretty much says it all.

fta: "The endgame is making you feel like a bigot for not allowing a hairy drag queen to take your six-year-old son to bed.
What else could the endgame be?
And that’s probably not the endgame because there is never an endgame with the left. Just a slippery slope of unimagined depravities."
Exactly. Been saying just this for years. Pedophilia, actual sex with children and the utter obliteration of innocence, is the Left's goal and has been for 20+ years. I was poo pooed a decade ago. I'll refrain from saying "I told you so."
Disney's reputation even among the faithful with kids is in the sewer and will never recover.
It is sad really. There are still good folks there as is evidenced by Encanto which came out last Thanksgiving and was actually a sweet family movie. This has become very much the exception at today's Disney.

The Giant Rat keeps making these trash movies that cost hundreds of millions and no one pays to see them. How can they not be broke? They are never going to get back to the company that made quality movies and they are never going to get me/us back as a customer. They know
this, so why, beyond the obvious grooming and brainwashing are the stockholders putting up with this. Time to dump Disney stock if you have it.

Great news. Chewing up their money on these loser projects means that they will be bankrupted that much sooner.
The sooner they are out of business, the better the world will be.
