President Joe Biden responded to criticism from centrist Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) on Saturday, who denounced the president for being “divorced from reality” after suggesting he would shut down coal plants nationwide.
“The President’s remarks yesterday have been twisted to suggest a meaning that was not intended; he regrets it if anyone hearing these remarks took offense,” said White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre in a statement.
“The President was commenting on a fact of economics and technology: as it has been from its earliest days as an energy superpower, America is once again in the midst of an energy transition.

The transition to renewables will take years, probably decades. No sane person shuts down the fossil fuel industry when the replacement isn’t ready for prime time…unless it’s Biden, Kerry, Greta, et al…..

Understand that Manchin is a fool. This is a fundamental fact and judge him on that basis.

His words were not twisted and his meaning is clear, he wants to shut down oil and coal. KJP is the one twisting his comments because the fool spouts off just before an election, Biden is a stupid fool so now they walk it back because people may just realize how his political and personal ,agenda will destroy this country, and our lives along with it if the Dems stay in power. So keep talking a**h*le. FJB

I defy any of the idiots running this disaster of an administration to listen to that speech and explain how the words were “twisted”. They think we’re all as stupid as Biden and I’m sick of being told I didn’t hear what I heard and didn’t see what I saw.

Manchin is a snake in the swamp. He was always a snake and will always be a snake. He cares about as much for WV as he does for Belize. His interest is money power and notoriety. Biden interest is ice cream cones.

In case anyone forgot, even the Paris Climate Accords, had the goal to be met by the year 2100.
So, that's still 78 years to go, but somehow the Democrats in the United States act like they need to make the changes immediately.
Do they think that the people in China and India are stupid, despite producing more scientists and mathematicians than nearly all other countries? After all, they don't seem to have the same radical approach.

The folks back in West Virginia have been watching, Joe. You voted to impeach President Trump--who carried this state with 76% of the vote you cut a deal with that Chuck guy from New York that added to the inflation, and you try to work with Biden and he outsmarts you.
We will be waiting for you when you seek reelection in 2024.

The entire premise is totally fake.
Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant - - carbon dioxide does not cause atmospheric warming - - gullible warming is just that - - a ruse to scam chumps - - in order to steal your money.
No one should argue about energy sources - - because none of them have any significant affect on the world's climate. Any time some commie leftist postulates man-made gullible warming - - just ask them to show you their statistically-reliable data.
And then burst out laughing!

The pretend president (being handled by shadows in the WH) clearly did not say what the pretend moderate (who votes for virtually every progressive bill after he finally gets his personal concessions) said that he said. There. I cleared it up for folks.

The headlne itself is misleading Biden die not respond to Manchin One of his toadies just want out and expanded on the lie told by Biden She said that Biden apologized if anyone misheard what the prevaricater-in-chief actually said. She, that is how the miscreants do it. Just blame the listener for mishearing the lie. How simpel is that for these jerkwads.

They want to shut down coal and they tout the use of natural gas instead. But they are also trying to shut down natural gas too. And they never do the math about solar land use. If the state of Georgia were to switch to entirely solar and also to total electric transportation then that will require 6k sq miles of solar facilities. Or about 1/10th the entire land area of Georgia. Forests will have to be demolished. Currently more than half the land in Georgia is covered in pine trees. Many creatures call these piney woods their home. They are unlikely to live under solar panels especially when maintenance people have to tread by their home nearly everyday to clean the solar panels.

Manchin has a spine of silly putty. And he's highly responsive to graft. Too bad he wasted his opportunity to stand against stupidity; instead, he linked arms. Now he doesn't like being manhandled by the big groper himself.
