When the White House held a celebration in April to mark Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Senate confirmation, President Biden hailed the moment as one that would let the “sun shine on so many young women, so many young Black women, so many minorities.” (Snip) of all 374 lawyers who have argued before the high court since the start of the 2017 term. . . nearly 81 percent are White, and 62 percent are White men. Nearly 9 percent are Asian American. . . only 2.3 percent of the lawyers were Black.

The only possible solution is to suspend the attend law school "requirement" for all minorities and "people of color." (Except Asians)

If you have a case going before the Supreme Court -- the court of last resort in our legal system, and the one that sets precedence for decades to come -- are you going to hire the very best lawyers possible to represent your case, or are you going to hire an Affirmative Action lawyer just so you can show how "woke" you are (even if it means you will probably lose, because the other side will definitely hire the best of the best lawyers to represent them)???????
Only racists see racism in everything. Sane people see qualifications, not skin color or gender!!!!!
MLK must be spinning extra fast in his grave these days!!!

And I'm enjoying college football..
....which is disproportionately black. Maybe the law schools and football teams would swap some members?

If I have need of a good attorney I’ll pick an excellent white over an adequate black every time. And vice versa.

Divide and conquer. Seems like most blacks don't have an interest in becoming lawyers. Did they survey their sexual orientation too?

Color blindness is the OPPOSITE of racism.
Wash ComPost is totally racist, NOT color blind. They see EVERYTHING in terms of race. That is racist.

To me that sounds like a racist comment from the WAPO. I guess we can’t hope for anything better dim the source.

No mention of Latino's. The WaPo does not consider them worthy of note.

I suggest that some people who would get their lives together and become lawyers are frequently shot in drive-by shootings, drug disputes or family arguments over the TV remote. Some even spend a few years on earth as Rap stars.

Looking back at the owners of the Washington Post I see a disturbing lack of diversity. Perhaps even a track record of nothing but white dominance. Hmmm. Obvious proof of a lack of sensitivity and inclusion.

Unless there is evidence they're excluded because of race, the small percentage of black lawyers reflects negatively on quality of black lawyers rather than on the SCOTUS.

And their point is? Does this mean that the Court will hear anything from a Black lawyer so they can meet a quota?

And not for nothing, where do the "journalists" here come off quoting President Puddin' Head saying, ". . . so many young women, so many young Black women, so many minorities"?
How does he declare them women when his appointee, Justice Chatterbox, can't define what a woman is? Can he tell by sniffing them?

Why only white lawyers in these affirmative action cases?
The reasons are simple. Whites victimized by affirmative action will almost always find that only white lawyers are sympathetic to their plight And white liberals are the real drivers behind affirmative action. Blacks are just their tool.

As I recall a lawyer has to meet certain standards before being able to argue before the Supreme Court.
https://www.encyclopedia.com/politics/encyclopedias-almanacs-transcripts-and-maps/supreme-court-bar
That article includes the story of the first black lawyer to argue before the Supreme Court in 1825. He was also a founder of the Republican Party in Massahusetts...

Ergo- WaPo is promoting a Conspiracy Theory.

"Personally I'm disappointed the journalists didn't determine how many of the 374 lawyers are left-handed. That's very sinister."
That's a prize pun, well-played. (One definition of "sinister" is "left.") Lawyers love word palys.

Thank you Lucianne for indulging an exception to only allowing posting from legitimate news sources. I'd file this under comic relief. Clearly the WaPost is aiming to help lay the groundwork to discredit a possible decision disallowing racial discrimination in college admissions. Personally I'm disappointed the journalists didn't determine how many of the 374 lawyers are left-handed. That's very sinister.
