John Fetterman’s wife claims ‘swimming
in America is very racist’

The wife of Democratic Pennsylvania Senate candidate John Fetterman claimed “swimming in America is very racist” — as she likened her husband’s use of closed captioning to turning up the brightness on a smartphone. “Historically, swimming in America is very racist, and usually when you look at drowning statistics, it usually affects children of color, because of lack of access,” Gisele Fetterman said on the iGen politics podcast on Thursday. Gisele made the comments while discussing how she and her husband, Pennsylvania’s lieutenant governor, had decided not to move into the state-owned mansion in Harrisburg but made the pool accessible

Comments:

Bizarre woman. Maybe lifeguards for every 'marginalized community member' is on her list of give-aways.

Yes, that is the most pressing problem of the black community. Once we solve this, we no longer have to consider the black community as a minority.

And nothing is more racist than basketball... So what? Some races ARE ACTUALLY BETTER at some things. We are NOT all alike. Get over it. Black kids will never rise to the level of Asian kids in math. At least not until the need for survival requires solving polynomial expressions and that would take hundreds of generations for such traits to emerge en masse. We need to look at ourselves honestly. Some are smarter. Some are more physically gifted. Accept those factual differences then get along with each other in appreciation of the DIFFERENCES rather than in a fit of jealous rage and denial over them. Let each individual rise to their own highest level unhindered by the illusion of uniformity as a goal. The only way to make people uniform is to reduce them to the lowest common denominator. Everybody loses when you do that because the brightest are held back and they do not go on to invent things that make everyone's life better. Everyone suffers to some degree when the highest achievers are shackled to the millstone of uniform outcomes.

Making the pool public was a thoughtful and generous gesture - but the cudgel to beat up history and not acknowledge any progress in 75 years is just grandstanding. And makes distasteful her first effort. Anyhoo, now what happens when the new governor takes up residence?

You don't need a pool to learn to swim. Millions of Americans learned in local creeks, rivers, ponds, and lakes.

A study done by a black physical education professor was done about 25 yers ago. He had wondered abut swimming ability of whites versus very luttle swimming ability among blacks. The professor, a faculty mmber at Tennessee State Univerisity, an historical black school, tested blcks and whites oin a pool. He reached a conclusion that most whites, because of body fat and body type, are floaters' and most blacks, using the same facotrs, are 'sinkers.' And floaters can swim better than sinkers. There was a corallry hypothesis, that people living in sub saharan Africa didn't go swimming, because the warers there contained beasts that would eat them. Gisele is misinterpreting statistics. She is also a very dangerous woman, ready to guide her impaired husband into one of the highest offices in the land. She also seems to harbor lots of resentment, perhaos because she is half black, half native brazilian, now living in America, feeling out of place.

Maybe if POC hadn't voted to 'defund lifeguards' so people of color could receive more 'freebies' they wouldn't have drowned. What a stupid statement from a stupid person usually it's an extreme racist that accuse others of racism. Hello and Goodnight, Gazelle.

It is easy…and wrong…to impute racial bias to situations that have other and better explanations. Florida has many more miles of unrestricted waterfront access and many more private pools per capita than PA, yet Fl’s drowning rate is far less than Pa’s.

Oops, only part of my reply posted. Here's the rest: If we follow Giselle's logic, then the problem must be caused by Black American's lack of access to the streets during the evening. So I guess we're supposed to be encouraging Black Americans to get out there and walk in traffic areas at night so they have the same access as People of No Color?

After all, he was a lifeguard at an all black pool back in the Jim Crow days and probably saved countless little black kiddos from drowning after they rubbed down his hairy legs and sat on his lap and he scared off bad dude Corn Pop with a rusty 6 foot chain then apologized to him for calling him Esther Williams. Water is racist. Total BS. Like camping, in my 70+ years I have seen very few blacks at pools, lakes or the ocean and almost no blacks camping or visiting natural parks. It costs nothing to visit a lake other than driving there and I have never seen one single black person at any of the lakes or oceans I have visited. I have "heard" that blacks don't like the water. No idea if that is correct, but the sure don't seek it out. It is not racist. It is their choice. They don't seem to want to do these things, near as I can tell.

Tiz Morrison, US Navy Underwater Demolition Team (UDT), and David Goggins, US Navy SEAL, say hi to all y'all that think blacks can't swim at the highest level. UDT was the forerunner for SEALS and if there is any deficit in a swimmer's ability, mental or physical, the UDT/SEAL selection and training regimens will expose it very early in the process. The Navy has also looked at the bell curve of "sinkers" vs "floaters" and has found more variation within race than between race, while holding extraneous variables constant. There are statistically significant differences between men and women, thought to be attributed to the generally higher interstitial body fat percentages in women vs men. Fat floats. Of course there are outliers on both tails of the bell curve. A corresponding variable identified in a high percentage of "sinkers" involves the density of muscle mass; however, the single most determinate factor in floating or sinking, regardless of race or sex is the amount of air in the lungs. If anyone expels a lot of air before going limp in the water, that person will generally sink. If a deep breath is taken, that person will generally float. That variable can be controlled by using a spirometer to normalize the amount of air in the lungs at the start of the test.

When I was a teenager back in the 1970's in Galveston, TX, I had a lot of black friends. We would hang out, and even go to the beach to cookout and play volleyball and stuff. But my black friends would never get in the water. If we invited them to go swimming in the bayou, it was always a huge "no". I asked one of my best black buddies one time why he didn't swim, and he said that it just wasn't a "black thing". He said "white people don't cook soul food and black people don't swim". I didn't push it, but that was just what it was. I guess if you are a racist (like most Demon-Rats are), you can and will find racism in everything. So no real shock that Mrs. Fetterman is a huge racist. I could have guessed that after seeing who she married.

COLLEGE PARK, GA – Former President Barack Obama repeatedly took aim at Herschel Walker, the Republican Senate nominee in Georgia who’s challenging Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock in a crucial battleground state Senate showdown. The former president, making his return to the campaign trail on behalf of fellow Democrats with just a week and a half to go until Election Day, criticized Walker, the former college and professional football star and first-time candidate, as "a celebrity to who wants to be a politician." Obama, who remains the most popular person in the Democratic Party nearly six years after he left the White House, is trying to perform some last-minute political magic

Paul Pelosi reportedly told 911 dispatch that the individual who allegedly attacked him with a hammer in his home “is a friend,” according to a police dispatch call early Friday morning. We received some links to the audio calls that were made to police regarding the incident. The suspect supposedly said he was waiting for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in the home. “RP” references Paul Pelosi. Emergency dispatch officials provided the police officers with an address on the 2600 block of Broadway street in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood, according to a dispatch call that took place around 2:28 a.m. on Friday.

An assailant identified as David Depape reportedly attacked Paul Pelosi, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, with a hammer at the couple’s home in San Francisco early Friday morning. Depape, 42, is a prominent nudist activist and hemp jewelry maker from Berkeley, and a member of the Green Party, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. (snip) “My firm served a lawsuit against Paul Pelosi one time in SF after attempting to serve at other residences,” tweeted civil rights attorney Harmeet Dhillon. “They weren’t home, but staff were, and multiple law enforcement officers were on the perimeter. Break-in is odd given this level of security.”

The San Francisco Police Department confirmed during a press conference on Friday evening that Paul Pelosi, husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was somehow able to call 911 before being attacked with a hammer, allowing dispatch to respond. Police Chief William Scott said when officers arrived Paul Pelosi and the attacker were standing in the entryway to the home, each holding onto the hammer. Confirmation that Paul Pelosi made a 911 call came after media reports said he had secretly called 911 so that the intruder would not know and spoke in a way that would alert the dispatcher to what was happening without giving himself away.

It’s almost time for the royals to read it and weep. Prince Harry’s hotly anticipated memoir is set to hit the shelves Jan. 10 — and his anxiety-riddled Royal Family is praying he does them ‘write’, sources said this week. The duty-ditching duke’s tell-all, titled “Spare,” is expected to make an explosive splash and his relatives are reportedly “hugely nervous” about a tome they consider a “time bomb.” “The consequences of this will be far-reaching and may be highly destructive,” royal author Richard Fitzwilliams told the Daily Mail on Thursday.

Paul Pelosi reportedly told 911 dispatch that the individual who allegedly attacked him with a hammer in his home “is a friend,” according to a police dispatch call early Friday morning. The alleged intruder reportedly attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer, which forced him to undergo emergency surgery for his injuries. Officers later identified 42-year-old Berkeley resident David DePape as Pelosi’s attacker. DePape was reportedly wearing only underwear when officers arrived on the scene. He was taken into custody and will be charged with multiple felonies, including attempted murder, San Francisco district attorney Brooke Jenkins announced.

I regret to inform the meme makers, the narrative builders, and all those involved in the herculean effort to make Paul Pelosi’s attack suspect into a stand-in for the right-wing boogeyman, the after-party has been canceled. The pathetic human known as David DePape was, until recently, a public backer of Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ causes. At least, that’s what we can surmise by surveying his “home” in Berkeley. DePape had a “Black Lives Matter” sign in the window and an LGBTQ rainbow flag, emblazoned with a marijuana symbol, hanging from a tree outside his house. Author Michael Schellenberger describes the scene outside DePape’s residence and took a dive

Failed presidential candidate John Kerry has urged King Charles III to attend the United Nations COP27 climate change conference in Egypt after it was revealed that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will not travel to the meeting because he is too busy. John Kerry, who serves as President Joe Biden’s special envoy on climate change on the international stage, has said that it would be “very powerful” if King Charles joins the globalist meeting in Sharm el Sheikh next month to help push the green agenda in light of the British Monarch’s vocal history on the issue.

Republicans have a record that Americans can see, showing that things can turn around under the right leadership as America experienced energy independence and a “booming” economy under the Trump/Pence administration, former Vice President Mike Pence said during an interview on Breitbart News Saturday, ultimately predicting a Republican takeover in Congress. Speaking on the show ten days ahead of Election Day, the former vice president reminded listeners that Republicans have been focused on the issues Americans care about, unlike Democrats.
