It’s almost time for the royals to read it and weep.
Prince Harry’s hotly anticipated memoir is set to hit the shelves Jan. 10 — and his anxiety-riddled Royal Family is praying he does them ‘write’, sources said this week.
The duty-ditching duke’s tell-all, titled “Spare,” is expected to make an explosive splash and his relatives are reportedly “hugely nervous” about a tome they consider a “time bomb.”
“The consequences of this will be far-reaching and may be highly destructive,” royal author Richard Fitzwilliams told the Daily Mail on Thursday.

Harry has never done anything, so not much to write about, except how to spend a million pounds a month, effortlessly.

It seems that Queen Elizabeth was "soft" on Harry and Meghan because of her love for Harry and, as she moved on in years, not having the stomach for confrontation. That's OK, she was a gracious person.
King Charles may be another story. He doesn't seem to have the warm character of Elizabeth and I suspect will be more than willing to take Harry to the woodshed by cutting him away from royal life. As far as Charles is concerned, Meghan can keep the kids she uses for leverage. I would hope it doesn't get too publically nasty but there are a lot of subtle moves that can freeze Harry out. The tabloids will have great sport with the whole thing no matter what.

I fully understand the feelings that one has when your not the favorite or the chosen one. However, his role at birth was to be Will's backup. You deal with it, or in his case, you don't.
He had a very long leash and was pretty much free to go wherever and do whatever he wanted. As a result, he was hugely popular with the people and could have done anything he wanted, except be King of England.
He met Markle and whizzed it all away. I've lost all of the respect that I had for the man. With the publication of his whine fest, my respect has turned to contempt.

Harry now appears to have the philosophy of if I can’t have the crown, no one else will. He could have remained in the royal family and had a fairly significant life. He was well loved in Great Britain and could have been a supportive brother to the next king, a real ally. Then, the little strumpet came along, dug her talons deep into him and everything changed. A narcissistic manipulator and an easily led fool is a recipe for disaster especially in a high profile family. Harry could very well so weaken the monarchy that it will limp along until Charles passes and may will likely end there. It all depends on what is in this book.
Harry has ostracized himself from his family and denied his children their rightful heritage and for what? Some used up yacht girl with a god complex and insatiable lust for wealth and status. This slap in the face to his revered grandmother who dedicated her life to her country is not going to sit well with the vast majority of Britains. Frankly, I don’t believe Harry will be able to deal with the backlash that is coming. This is not going to end well for him.

I seriously doubt that it will be far-reaching and highly destructive. Only gossip writers and royal watchers seem to give a rat’s arse what those two think or say. The RF should just cut them off completely and be done with them.

Harry is mentally ill. He admits it, and Megan and the publishers have taken advantage of that. She has talked him into writing this book. She didn't have the class to learn how to be a royal. She is a selfish, jealous shrew and every time she whines, it shows. People are tired of it and them. Their 15 minutes of fame is just about over.

Isn't it amazing what ONE WOMAN can do to ruin the life of a man who was happy just doing his thing. He wasn't complaining that he was "the Spare", it was just the way it was! He had all the freedom he wanted to have fun, not have a lot of duties to get in his way, participate in his beloved Military Parades and date all the Cute Girls he wanted. Life was good! Then he met Meghan and it all went downhill from there. SHE filled his head with the idea he was not as important as Will. No kidding! Everyone knew the Pecking Order in the Royal Family and they went about their life doing what was expected of them. Until Meghan! SHE wanted to be Kate! She didn't like it that Kate was loved by everyone. Meghan wanted it all and she just couldn't get the job done, so she filled Poor Harry's head full of ideas that they should just spit in the eye of everyone in the Royal Family and then move away. Once they did that they had to figure out a way to live the lifestyle Meghan wanted, so out comes the Book. I'm pretty sure it will be a Best Seller! Sadly! But once the money from that Book is gone, what does Meghan have left? Nothing! She will drop Harry, for some other Unsuspecting Man, like a Hot Potato! I've seen this Movie before. Too bad Harry will have to learn the hard way what a "Gold Digger" is!

Other than to a few bored celebrity-worshippers, I don't see this piece of ghost-written drivel being very popular in the book stores. Most of us already know more than we would like to concerning this PW princeling.

He had Ann and Edward as examples of how to be productive members of the royal family even when you're just a "spare". Instead, he seems to have chosen the petulant, self-indulgent Andrew as a role model.

Publicly trashing your family has consequences, and Harry (and the wife) are only starting to experience the consequences. Up to now, it has been mostly the family keeping them at a distance since they obviously have no qualms about going to the press about things that go on behind closed doors. Understandable behavior from people who distrust a family member. Harry seems determined to follow the David, Duke of Windsor model - outcast from the RF, sponging off celebrity trash and people who will do anything to rub shoulders with even an outcast royal. If the wife doesn't dump him, he'll end up like the Duke of Windsor living a sad life in a loveless marriage with a shrew who has no respect for him.

This is a move more-suited to celebrities than to royalty. She forms the core of their family identity, not Harry. Sad. And toxic to every relationship they have.

Ginger Boy better be nice or this script could really finish him off. Harry just might have to live forever in the swamp Markle created for themselves. Jolly England may never be seen again by both of them if this Spare Change is just what it is.

I could be wrong about this but it is my understanding that throughout history royal families always considered the second son born as "the spare"; this doesn't cast aspersions on Harry even though he seems to want it taken that way. ("Woe is me, I'm not as valued as I should be"). His mother even called him "the spare".
I watched an interview on Sky News and it is being reported that some bookstores in GB are planning to discount the book on Day #1.
Finally, I agree with a previous poster. I highly doubt any proceeds from the book with be set aside as charitable donations; unless the "charity" is Megs.

Personally I think after the book comes out a member of the RF should come out laughing and simply say : after all the lies he told, do you really believe anything he has written? And then proceed to list all the examples of his lies. Why the Horrid Couple think they have any modicum of credibility at this point astounds me. They think we're stupid. They think we have the same heart and values they do.

#10, vindictively ending the monarchy seems to be their goal. The earlier mentions of Meghan running for President of the U.S. makes me wonder if they aren’t being used as stooges for others working to end the monarchy too. She seems to be very narcissistic and hungry for fame & money. Perhaps it could be that she is being as successfully lied to and manipulated by power players as he apparently was/is by her.
On another note, he looks like an entirely different person in that picture. Gone is the relaxed, easy-going and happy looking Prince Harry that Britain and the world loved. His eyes and demeanor are harder & off-putting much of the time now. It’s sad that he is pushing his family further away. It is especially sad that he neglected to visit his grandmother - first thing - when he went on tour with Meghan. So near to her physically, yet apparently so far away emotionally - and now it’s too late.
I’m sad for the Harry he was before Meghan came into his life after researching his mother to the point of adopting her interests and wearing the perfume that she wore, before being introduced to him. If it’s true that William cautioned him to take it slower, I wish he had listened to his brother who had loved him all of his life. I’m sad for the whole Royal Family in that regard.
