Astonishing call for censorship of Justice

Even as they claim to oppose censorship, a group of almost 500 people from the literary world (snip) have signed onto a call for Penguin Random House to drop a forthcoming book by Justice Amy Coney Barrett. (snip) "We recognize that harm is done to a democracy not only in the form of censorship, but also in the form of assault on inalienable human rights. As such, we are calling on Penguin Random House to recognize its own history and corporate responsibility commitments by reevaluating its decision to move forward with publishing Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s forthcoming book" Do none of these people (snip) see the contradiction here?

Further bolstering my contention that the publishing industry is nothing but a slush fund to funnel kickbacks and bribes to Rat politicians who receive thousands in bogus advances for books that sell in pitiful quantities. But conservatives publishing books? That's verboten!

I just scanned the list of signatories. One of them is a “bookseller at Barnes and Noble”. So someone who runs the cash register at a book store can call for censoring a Supreme Court Justice? Does that mean that I get to sign on to censoring Hillary the next time her ghost writer pumps out another piece of Marxist claptrap? Hugely disappointed in Lee Child. I’ve been a Reacher fan since the first book but am with you, #1 - no more.

How about all of these almost 500 signatories just refuse to buy the book? That’s how things work in our Constitutional Republic based upon our Bill of Rights or, at least, that’s how it used to work. We are fundamentally against censorship. Now all these so called learned people want to squash any speech they disagree with. How insecure are these fools that they must silence any dissent? Can’t have another opinion out there in the public square to influence anyone, that’s their job, after all. They are the elites. How in the world did our country get turned upside down so quickly? What leftists know is that given a choice the people will choose a more conservative approach to government and they cannot have that.

Why is this astonishing? Why do all of these conservative writers continually appear to be astonished, surprised, or dismayed by the actions of the Communist Death Democrats in their war on our country and ourselves? This behavior is routine by the Communist Death Democrats and is not astonishing. No one is safe including and especially Supreme Court Justices. Wake up Mr. Lifson. We are in a war of survival against an enemy that has no rules or moral conscience in achieving their totalitarian goal. They will use any means available to destroy their enemies which is us. They are already imprisoning people who disagree with their totalitarian agenda. Wake up. We are at war.

This has a rather pitiful/comical aspect to it, even though it is sad that you could find 500 Americans in favor of such stark censorship. One of the signers identifies himself/herself/themselves as "Al Al, I work in publishing!" And another identifies as simply "reader." It's just a list of 500 amoral dingbats who believe women have an inalienable right to kill their unborn babies.

Like everyone else, these 500 idiots have a choice. Buy or do not buy Amy Coney Barrett's book or not. If you think it is a "threat", then don't buy it. However, you don't even know what is in it. I also bet that each of the people on this list would scream their brains out if someone suggested that their book not be published or sold because of their content or who they were. If Justice Amy Coney Barrett suggested that one of their books not be published or sold they would be calling it judicial tyranny and the start of a police state. FTA: "It has to be possible to balance freedom of expression with wider moral and social responsibilities." It is. That's why we have three branches of government tasked with "balancing" each other. The three branches are supposed to protect the rights and interests of the American people and uphold our Constitution. If the current Executive and Legislative branches had done their jobs and put America FIRST, they wouldn't have to worry about voters holding them accountable, which they will in droves, on election day. The late Stevie Remmington, director of the Oregon ACLU used to remind folks wanting to censor speech that "The remedy for speech you don't like is more speech." How ironic that the corporate publishing industry is openly pressuring one book publisher to drop a book, rather than let the market decide if it's worth reading or not. Their effort to prevent publication just might make it a best seller. Justice Barrett's book will be on my reading list for sure.

John Fetterman obviously hoped that by lowering expectations for last night’s debate with Dr. Oz and by having a closed captioning system with 2 70-inch monitors, he could convince Pennsylvania voters that he was healthy enough to discharge the duties of US Senator. But he equally obviously failed. He opened his remarks with an inappropriate greeting: “Hi. Good night, everybody.” (snip) Fetterman’s performance was bad enough that even the partisan media were forced to acknowledge his poor presentation. One of the reasons I rarely post on Twitter is that it’s very easy for typos to become memes. Remember Trump’s Covfefe tweet? What did it mean or was it a just a slip of the mouse? Thus, we don’t really know whether Kanye West really meant death con3 to Jews or did he mean defcon3 which is a military term for increase in force readiness above that required for normal readiness. These misreads especially occur when someone is speaking rather than typing into a computer. In my old age, I need subtitles for everything I watch and the subsequent incorrect translation of speech can be quite amusing.
