A state appeals court on Monday backed the termination of a former Newark police officer who posted footage from a sexual encounter on Twitter. [Snip] Adams joined the Newark force in 2015 and is active in the city. He ran for city council positions in 2014 and 2018, and has spoken publicly about being gay and a police officer, and advocates for Pride and LGBTQ issues - for which he’s been recognized for his work. In 2017, The Advocate featured Adams in a story titled, “What It’s Like to Be a Black Gay Cop.”

Like most people, I have zero interest in other peoples sex lives. Had this been a heterosexual encounter it would and should have had the same result. There are behavioral responsibilities to being a public servant. Twitter has no problem with postings of sex videos but if you quote the Constitution your account will be cancelled.

Whoa, now! Better reconsider, because he holds two face cards in the "intersectional" poker hand-black AND gay! Looks like he'll have to go for the trifecta, and announce he's "bi," then he'll not only get his job back, but a promotion as well.

New Jersey has banned police officers from lingering around polling stations and ballot drop boxes on election days under a new law that advocates argued was needed to protect against voter intimidation. Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy signed the Democratic-sponsored bill into law earlier in the week after it passed the Democratic-controlled state Legislature mostly along party lines. It says both plain-clothed or uniformed police need to keep at least 100 feet from polling stations or drop boxes.
