President Biden announced Wednesday that he will cancel $10,000 of federal student loan debt for certain borrowers making less than $125,000 per year, and up to $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients, while extending the pause on federal student loan payments through the end of the year.
"In keeping with my campaign promise, my Administration is announcing a plan to give working and middle class families breathing room as they prepare to resume federal student loan payments in January 2023," Biden tweeted.
Biden is expected to give remarks on the plan Wednesday afternoon.

Next is free car loan forgiveness. Mortgage forgiveness. Free rent. Free medicine. Free food. Free cable. Knew a girl who illegally entered the country from Cuba. She said the hardest thing for her to get used to in the USA was carrying money around because in Cuba everything is free. So this is the dims solution to the crime problem. No robberies because there's nothing to rob because everything is free. We are the land of the FREE.

Oh, please, the "national debt" is just a number, with the balance floated by making the interest payments while adding more. The US is like that ditz who cannot understand why she's overdrawn at the bank...she still has checks in her book.
The real issue always avoided is RESPONSIBILITY. It seems no one is responsible for their debts or actions except the poor slobs who try to live a good life, pay their taxes, and pay their bills. And now they are paying the bills of others. Sadly, so many think this is a good thing. Sorry that I can't get my money back. I suggest this is much more important to the future than tail-chasing '20 election fraud. Not like anyone will be held "RESPONSIBLE."

My wife and I are now officially freaking idiots - we paid all the tuition bills for several nieces, nephews and grandchildren so that they could finish college without any student debt.
Oh, and now we get to pay (along with most of you) the debts of everybody else too.
We are now the Socialist States of Banana-Republic America. Aren't you proud??

Working and middle class families rarely rack up $100,000 student debts. This is a boondoggle for the weak minded liberals to vote for the Demoncrats thinking they'll get their self inflicted loans erased. In the end it'll be the wealthiest that get the break. Working and middle class pay off their debts while the wealthiest find ways to defer payment through tax gimmicks. Lawyers and Doctors have the highest educational debts and the means of repayment. Useless degrees like Liberal Art Studies and Art appreciation are worthless and only show the limited long term thinking abilities liberals have.

So do I get a check for $20,000? Two of my kids are under $125k, my wife and I worked hard and put them thru college without taking student loans, while I drove a 28 year old car.

A 10k loan taken out a decade ago would be worth what in today's dollars? Were those loans losing value? Have to wonder if the banks wanted those worthless loans off the books.

And guess what, the government will continue to hand out loans like Halloween candy, so soon we will be back to square one. As someone who worked summers and holidays for pay for college, and paid off my loan in four years, this pisses me off to no end.

When Barak Obongo nationalized the student loan industry back in 2010 he claimed that there was going to result in big savings. He called it ''real money''.
Instead, he bankrupted Sally May.
If Biteme, Obongo, Warren, and Sanders think this expense is such a great cause they should pay for it out of their own pockets, since they caused the mess.

And Republicans will say nothing for fear of a backlash by those benefiting from Uncle Joe’s magnanimous gift.
By the way, where does Joe get the authority and funds to disperse such huge sums of money? Is this considered spending? If so, isn’t that required to come through the House? Or does Joe have a special stash? What about all the money going to Ukraine? How can a President spend this much tax payer funds when other Presidents did not enjoy such ability? The arrogance f this administration knows no bounds. They are lawless and seemingly no one with any gravitas calls them on this.

Only a minority of Americans pay net taxes. Somewhere I saw an article that claimed this latest pimp move would cost taxpayers $2000 apiece; shouldn't be a difficult calculation. Notice the Republicans, as ever and always, are in a backroom somewhere laughing it up with their Democrat colleagues. Must be, because they sure as hell aren't fighting this or promising to claw it back.

The fact is our government is financed mostly by inflation, and the rest by taxation of the responsible and productive. I don't complain about the inflation, as it forces those that don't file tax returns to help pay for the government. I do complain about the size of the government, which has grown to double the size it should be. The only way to stop inflation is to reduce the size of government. The politician's will never be able to increase taxes to the amount necessary to finance this government, which means we will have inflation forever. Like any third world country, citizens should plan for 10% annual inflation in their budgets, and negotiations. All contracts will be variable interest rate, and all contracts will have escalator clauses.

All Biden is doing is looking for votes, and he's willing to bankrupt the country in the process... If you are a college student you should be smart enough to see through him. We all have had debt AND worked to pay OUR debt off - not yours.
