Mass Shootings: The Media Misinformation Campaign

Original Article

If there is any maxim religiously observed by the corporate news media, it is this: “If it bleeds, it leads.” Moreover, if the blood in question gushes from gunshot wounds inflicted by a deranged mass murderer, the major news outlets uniformly portray the crime as evidence of an ever-increasing wave of violence caused not by criminals but by their weapons. This narrative is a textbook example of misinformation whereby news organizations studiously ignore data and definitions on mass shootings developed by Congress, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and other law enforcement sources.

This is the third wave of anti-gun propaganda -- mass shootings. It was preceded by wave one -- "most gun deaths are of someone known to the gun owner", which it turns out, mostly includes his drug dealer. Wave two was, "most gun death victims are children," withi it turns out, mostly includes 17 year old drug dealers.

Trying to discuss the issue with Progs is impossible because their minds are chock-full of such misinformation/propaganda.

The mass shooting that has claimed the most casualties is the mainstream media shooting off their collective mouths, misleading the people about gun control (that it protects the law-abiding people) and the Second Amendment (that it doesn't mean what it says).

For anyone in doubt concerning why the Jan. 6 Select Committee scheduled Thursday’s public hearing for primetime, NBC’s Yamiche Alcindor recently provided an explanation during a discussion with Andrea Mitchell. Noting that Americans are worried about gas prices, inflation, and shortages, Alcindor admitted that the hearing is a distraction: “These lawmakers are going to try now to have a narrative to focus the country’s attention to say, ‘Look at this thing.’” Alcindor said the committee is trying to save democracy but fears the public isn’t paying attention.

The trial of Michael Sussmann is before a jury in Washington, D.C. Sussmann is the Democratic lawyer who, according to special counsel John Durham, lied to the FBI in 2016 when, working on behalf of the Hillary Clinton campaign, he tried to plant a derogatory story about Donald Trump. The hope was that the FBI would start an investigation and then the campaign conversation would be: TRUMP IS UNDER FBI INVESTIGATION!There is no doubt Sussmann lied to the FBI. There is no doubt he is guilty. But the trial is taking place in Washington, perhaps the deepest-blue jury pool in the United States.

A casual reader perusing the headlines about last Tuesday’s Georgia primaries could easily get the impression that former President Trump was running for office in the Peach State. Many corporate media outlets featured his name before identifying the actual candidates. Wednesday morning, for example, Politico ran a story titled, “Trump flops in Georgia: 5 takeaways from a big primary night.” This and many similar articles missed the two most important news stories: Georgia Republicans refuse to sabotage themselves by engaging in counterproductive infighting, and record turnout thoroughly debunked the Democratic “voter suppression” narrative.

The U.S. Army is undergoing a makeover. The branch is set to rename nine posts due to something dastardly: At present, the monikers memorialize Confederate icons. From The Associated Press: [I]n the aftermath of the [George Floyd] killing…Congress ordered a comprehensive plan to rename the military posts and hundreds of other federal assets such as roads, buildings, memorials, signs and landmarks that honored rebel leaders. The Naming Commission held its first meeting in March of 2021. Six months later, the group took name suggestions from the public.

A decade ago, when an Obama-era initiative called “Common Core” convinced 41 states to give up control of their education standards, it was infamously the result of a massive influence campaign by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Now, with America’s K-12 landscape being turned upside down by “equity” initiatives that divide children by ethnicity and devalue rigorous academics, the culprit is much the same: Gates and other philanthropic foundations. That’s a takeaway from the two years I spent poring through educational and financial records for my new book, “Race to the Bottom: Uncovering the Secret Forces Destroying American Public Education.”

Nearly two dozen shot outside an NBA playoff game. A notorious murderer almost released on parole. A Christmas massacre carried out by a repeat felon released on low bail. Record car thefts and drug overdoses. While most of the country braces for a pocketbook election driven by runaway inflation, record gas prices and baby formula shortages, the key battleground state of Wisconsin is seething over a crime wave driven by policies that are shaping up to be an Achilles heel for Democrats running the state, like incumbent Gov. Tony Evers and Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm.

ATLANTA — Standing at the pulpit of Ebenezer Baptist Church, the spiritual home of Martin Luther King Jr., the Rev. Raphael Warnock led a sermon on the last Sunday before Georgia’s Tuesday primaries that was about “getting to where you need to go” — and navigating the challenges ahead. “Rise up and transform every opposition, every obstacle, into an opportunity,” Mr. Warnock urged. He was not explicitly talking about his other job as a United States senator, or the fact that he is one of the most endangered Democrats in the country in 2022, or the headwinds confronting his party. But he might as well have been.
Desperate Dems Bet on the ‘Great Replacement’ Scam 10 replies

Since the Democrats gained control of Congress in January of 2021, they have squandered their tenuous grip on power by engaging in profligate spending, performative investigations and abortive attempts to federalize state elections. The resultant paucity of legislative achievements, combined with a long list of Biden administration blunders, has given the GOP a realistic chance to win majorities in the House and Senate this November. Inevitably, this means “Republican racism” will be a central theme of the Democratic midterm campaign. Indeed, they have already crafted a narrative to explain the GOP’s alleged affinity for white supremacy — the “great replacement” theory.

David Sabatini is someone who it was believed could one day win a Nobel Prize for medicine. Now he’s an unemployed stay-at-home dad. Politico reports that, in Pennsylvania: Democrats helped engineer Mastriano’s win. One of the most fascinating things we read last night was our colleagues’ back and forth on the POLITICO live blog about how Mastriano’s rise can be partly attributed to Democrats. How? Viewing him as the easiest Republican to defeat in the general, Shapiro and the state Democratic Party sent out mailers boosting him, our Holly Otterbein noted, helping him rise above other GOP candidates, including former Rep. LOU BARLETTA (R-Pa.). And: And while Mastriano spent less than $370,000 on TV ads, the Shapiro campaign pumped more than $840,000 to air a spot that attacked Mastriano as too conservative for voters

On Friday, they tried to make an argument that Congress had only left Joe Biden a “shoestring budget” for COVID-19 management just 14 months after Congress appropriated $1.9 trillion in off-budget funds that Biden demanded. Today, after Biden has insisted on spending his entire first sixteen months pushing a hard-left progressive agenda, Politico now reports that Biden has tired of … bipartisanship. I thought it would be fun. That's what I told my friend Mack when I asked her to drive with me from New Orleans to Chicago and back in an electric car. I'd made long road trips before, surviving popped tires, blown headlights and shredded wheel-well liners in my 2008 Volkswagen Jetta. I figured driving the brand-new Kia EV6 I'd rented would be a piece of cake. If, that is, the public-charging infrastructure cooperated. We wouldn't be the first to test it.

The White House served up Hollywood star Matthew McConnaughey to lecture us on the virtues of assorted gun control proposals yesterday. He emotes more effectively than press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, but what does he have to offer? He is a native of Uvalde. He feels strongly about the Uvalde massacre. He doesn’t think too much of the Second Amendment. He has a superficial above-it-all take on the culture war. He is a tool of the Biden administration.
