Georgia Republicans Forgo Circular Firing Squad

Original Article

A casual reader perusing the headlines about last Tuesday’s Georgia primaries could easily get the impression that former President Trump was running for office in the Peach State. Many corporate media outlets featured his name before identifying the actual candidates. Wednesday morning, for example, Politico ran a story titled, “Trump flops in Georgia: 5 takeaways from a big primary night.” This and many similar articles missed the two most important news stories: Georgia Republicans refuse to sabotage themselves by engaging in counterproductive infighting, and record turnout thoroughly debunked the Democratic “voter suppression” narrative.

Circular firing squads only happen in republican circles when spineless go along to get along establishment cowards lose. Then of course all bets are off and the "insurgents" must be gone after and expunged from the grand ol party.

1. Kemp has no authority over elections 2. Kemp has been a good governor, as is evidenced by the building boom of new businesses moving into the state and a raft of legislation that has blue states boycotting Georgia. 3. Perdue was a bad candidate and didn't campaign or debate well. 4. Elections in "MY" state do not come down to grudge matches with former presidents. 5. Georgia would have 2 republican senators right now if he hadn't managed to convince a whole lot of republicans that their vote didn't matter causing many to sit out the run off.

#8 is mostly correct. Perdue was my choice but he did nothing to campaign for the job. All the ads I saw were Trump ads supporting Perdue. Kemp with the exception of 2020 election has been good. I do disagree that Kemp couldn't do anything about 2020. He could have called special session and have the legislature get involved in the election ballots. He laid low. Having said all that I will vote for Kemp over any Democrat. The Democrats have totally proven themselves to be the party of un-American people. Nice way of saying Communists.

#6, I too used to despair at the Republican ability to “muck it all up.” But then, I realized that the Republicans were complicit in it all, and that everything they did was by design and not because they were stupid. They are as evil as the democrats. The only difference is style and timing.

President Trump is 100-6 in his endorsements so far in this primary season. That is over a 94% success rate!!! I guarantee you that there is nobody else in the world -- from Ovomit to bidet to the Clintons to the Pope -- who could dream of having success like that in endorsing candidates!!!! But the MSM and RINO sewer-dwelling Republi-Can'ts are trying to play up that President Trump has "lost his mojo" because of those 6 losses. But President Trump is laughing all the way to re-election in 2024!!!!!

The U.S. Army is undergoing a makeover. The branch is set to rename nine posts due to something dastardly: At present, the monikers memorialize Confederate icons. From The Associated Press: [I]n the aftermath of the [George Floyd] killing…Congress ordered a comprehensive plan to rename the military posts and hundreds of other federal assets such as roads, buildings, memorials, signs and landmarks that honored rebel leaders. The Naming Commission held its first meeting in March of 2021. Six months later, the group took name suggestions from the public.

A decade ago, when an Obama-era initiative called “Common Core” convinced 41 states to give up control of their education standards, it was infamously the result of a massive influence campaign by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Now, with America’s K-12 landscape being turned upside down by “equity” initiatives that divide children by ethnicity and devalue rigorous academics, the culprit is much the same: Gates and other philanthropic foundations. That’s a takeaway from the two years I spent poring through educational and financial records for my new book, “Race to the Bottom: Uncovering the Secret Forces Destroying American Public Education.”

ATLANTA — Standing at the pulpit of Ebenezer Baptist Church, the spiritual home of Martin Luther King Jr., the Rev. Raphael Warnock led a sermon on the last Sunday before Georgia’s Tuesday primaries that was about “getting to where you need to go” — and navigating the challenges ahead. “Rise up and transform every opposition, every obstacle, into an opportunity,” Mr. Warnock urged. He was not explicitly talking about his other job as a United States senator, or the fact that he is one of the most endangered Democrats in the country in 2022, or the headwinds confronting his party. But he might as well have been.

Since the Democrats gained control of Congress in January of 2021, they have squandered their tenuous grip on power by engaging in profligate spending, performative investigations and abortive attempts to federalize state elections. The resultant paucity of legislative achievements, combined with a long list of Biden administration blunders, has given the GOP a realistic chance to win majorities in the House and Senate this November. Inevitably, this means “Republican racism” will be a central theme of the Democratic midterm campaign. Indeed, they have already crafted a narrative to explain the GOP’s alleged affinity for white supremacy — the “great replacement” theory.

Politico reports that, in Pennsylvania: Democrats helped engineer Mastriano’s win. One of the most fascinating things we read last night was our colleagues’ back and forth on the POLITICO live blog about how Mastriano’s rise can be partly attributed to Democrats. How? Viewing him as the easiest Republican to defeat in the general, Shapiro and the state Democratic Party sent out mailers boosting him, our Holly Otterbein noted, helping him rise above other GOP candidates, including former Rep. LOU BARLETTA (R-Pa.). And: And while Mastriano spent less than $370,000 on TV ads, the Shapiro campaign pumped more than $840,000 to air a spot that attacked Mastriano as too conservative for voters

When the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that inflation had risen at an annual rate of 8.3 percent in April, the White House and many news outlets made much of the minuscule decrease from the 8.5 percent rate reported for March. President Biden issued a statement, for example, that called the infinitesimal decline “heartening.” CNN ran a story titled, “US inflation slowed last month for the first time since August.” This wasn’t terribly comforting, however, considering that the inflation rate has nearly doubled since last April while real wages declined by 2.6 percent.

Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has repeatedly shown his ineptitude when it comes to leading Democrats in the upper chamber, and he did so again in spectacular fashion on Wednesday afternoon. In what he seems to think was a grand gesture to prove his party's commitment to a woman's (birthing person's?) right to kill her unborn child only put Democrats on the record supporting a bill that's more radical than Roe ever was. After the unprecedented leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion signaling that Roe v. Wade would be overturned, Schumer jumped into action and called for the passage of a bill to supposedly "codify" Roe in federal law.
