Gov. Kathy Hochul made headlines recently by announcing the FAST NY Shovel-Ready Grant Program, which promises up to $200 million to attract high-tech industry, especially semiconductor manufacturers, to New York by developing potential sites statewide. The release cites the White Pine Commerce Park in Onondaga County, which Hochul visited this year (bringing along Sen. Chuck Schumer and US Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves) to tout efforts to lure a chip-maker there with huge amounts of state and federal money.
But Hochul doesn’t mention that the White Pine site she wants to offer up to the semiconductor manufacturer is far from “shovel-ready” — in fact, it’s already taken.

President Joe Biden rightly announced a ban on Russian energy imports Tuesday — though only after a bipartisan group in Congress twisted his arm. Biden had resisted the move, despite the purchases funding Vladimir Putin’s deadly Ukraine invasion, worried it would further boost gas prices (and further tank his polling).
But he’s doing plenty to jack up prices through his policies here at home. On Monday, his own Environmental Protection Agency announced it wants to slap new rules on tractor-trailers, buses, delivery vans and moving trucks. The regs, aimed at cutting nitrogen oxide and carbon pollution, will make life harder not only for working-class truck and bus drivers,

The advancement of the America-First policy agenda in Washington has been ground down to a halt due to ineffective leadership and Republican infighting within the House of Representatives. This party disunity has left a leadership vacuum that has given progressives in Washington a window to pursue the failed Biden agenda and spend trillions of dollars in the process, leaving future generations of Americans to pay the price.
Americans are fed up with this failed agenda and it is showing. Polling and political models indicate that Republicans will regain control of the House of Representatives in the 2022 midterm elections. Republicans must not squander this opportunity

The midterm elections are still eight months away but Democrats are already laying the groundwork to make excuses for losses as the writing on the wall suggests Joe Biden's party is headed to the woodshed in November.
In an NBC News piece on Americano, the "nation’s first Spanish-language conservative network" launching on satellite radio this week, Marc Caputo began constructing a narrative to allow Democrats to blame losses among Hispanic voters on "disinformation," a story fed by flailing Democrats in Florida that insults Hispanic voters' intelligence and smears conservatives. Pretty standard fare for the mainstream media's Democrat lapdogs:

Honestly, did you think Joe Biden could be as incompetent as he has been? I knew he would be bad, his combination of senility and stupidity was never going to lead anywhere good, but to be this systemically bad on everything is almost more of a skill than an accident. You’d really have to try to suck as badly as he does.
You would think that sooner or later he’d hit bottom, after all, there’s only so much sucking someone can do, right? You’d be right to think that, but wrong if you did. Every single day, when the President of the United States wakes up,

In March of last year, days after Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed new voting reform legislation, Atlanta-based Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey said, "This legislation is unacceptable. It is a step backwards ... and needs to be remedied, and we will continue to advocate for it both in private and now even more in public."
The massive soft drink company wasn't alone; the legislation brought a wave of corporate backlash aimed at Kemp, Georgia Republicans and Republicans in general. Within days, Major League Baseball had pulled the All-Star Game out of the state. Delta Air Lines, Home Depot, Porsche Cars and the Atlanta Falcons

Florida's new law expanding parental rights bans sexual orientation and gender discussions in kindergarten through 3rd-grade classrooms (four- to eight-year-olds), deeming them developmentally inappropriate. Democrats charged Florida with murderous homophobia and transphobia and coined the catchphrase "Don't Say Gay" to describe the law. This is dishonest because that's not what the bill does. As if to demonstrate that they have no good argument against the bill, Democrats protested the law's passage by saying "gay." Yup. That's their argument.
Here's the language that has Democrats in such an uproar:
Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation

In Democrat cities across America, the word is out: it's time for masks to go...except on children. Teachers' unions are adamant that it's just better for those kids to keep hiding their faces. It's a mystery to me why this is, but it's clear that these people should not be allowed in classrooms because they must really dislike children.
In über-leftist Seattle, the teachers' union wants to keep kids masked for the remainder of the school year:
A Seattle teachers union is pushing for keeping the district's school mask mandate in place until May, despite the state and county no longer requiring masks,

Maybe Eric Trump, one of President Trump's sons, is just a very lucky guy.
Or maybe he was on to something. The younger Trump tweeted this back in October 2020:
If Biden gets in, not only will he destroy the Oil & Gas industry (and millions of American jobs and lives), we can all say goodbye to these unbelievably good gas prices.
Talk about a prediction. Maybe Eric should buy a lottery ticket every Friday.

Russian and Ukrainian nationals are increasingly arriving at the United States-Mexico border in the hopes of being released into the nation’s interior, newly released data shows.
As Republican and Democrat lawmakers focus their attention on the borders of Ukraine amidst Russia’s invasion, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data reveals that a growing number of Russians and Ukrainians are using the southern border to get released into the U.S. interior.
Reuters reports:
U.S. border officials encountered about 6,400 Russians in the four months between October 2021 and January of this year, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data show. That’s more than the roughly 4,100 apprehended during the entire 2021 fiscal year,

Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV), a Democrat who has consistently opposed measures to make America energy independent, took thousands in donations from lobbyists for the Russian Nordstream 2 pipeline.
As gas prices surged to the most expensive ever recorded on Monday, the revelations about Cortez Masto could severely jeopardize her 2022 reelection campaign. Gas prices on Monday soared in Nevada to at least $4.590 per gallon — the second-highest in the nation behind Hawaii — and even as this happened, the Democrat senator has regularly opposed initiatives that would reduce gas prices and increase American energy independence.
For instance, Masto has opposed the Keystone Pipeline, drilling on federal lands,

A group of parents on Wednesday took to the steps of the historic Tweed Courthouse in New York City which houses the city’s Department of Education (DOE) headquarters, calling for continued mask mandates as the city begins lifting them almost two years after the coronavirus pandemic was first declared.
The group behind the “Masking for a Friend” rally, Parents for Responsive Equitable Safe Schools (PRESS-NYC), describes itself as a “parent collective” which aims to “build learning communities, write anti-racist curriculum” and “hold the DOE, the Mayor, and the education press accountable.”
Carrying signs supporting continued masking “for all,”
