Gustavo Galvéz, owner of Galvéz Auto Clinic, can testify to the new problem Southern California drivers are facing: gas thieves. A few days ago, a landscaper asked him for help with his vehicle, and they discovered a new modus operandi for criminals. "He went to start the car to go to work, and it didn't start," Galvéz said. "Well, he brought it here to see what the problem was and the gas tank had a hole in it." (Snip) Repairing a gas tank is a very expensive job, running as high as $800. That price includes replacing the tank and

Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you
Woo, woo, woo
What's that you say Mrs. Robinson?
Joltin' Jimmy has left and gone away
Hey hey hey

People sucked gas through hoses and made people fill their cars at gunpoint. Fights broke out during gas lines. Biden was a senator then.

Gas thieves, like any other thief, should be shot on sight. God! I hate thieves!

Gas is just the start. If the economy tanks to depression levels, you will have to guard you Home, food, cars and gas. Of course, the blue cities don't have police anymore, so they will just have to lay back and enjoy it!

Her in the midwest, we are seeing theft of catalytic converters from cars in parking lots like never before. Apparently, they cost thousands of dollars to replace depending on the car. It takes about 2 to 3 minutes under the car and it is gone.

I have been hearing about this where they either sneak up with a five gallon can and siphon it out of your tank or park next you you in a parking lot with a long hose and use a pump to siphon it from your tank directly into theirs.
I expect there will be a run on locking gas caps now.

Indeed, locking gas caps were all the rage in the 70s....

A friend of mine mentioned rampant theft of catalytic converters in Arvada, CO. Poster 5, I am concerned about threats to the property you listed.

Thank you comrade Joe Biden for showing the world your true Communist leanings. Now we know why you wanted to be president and had the DNC steal the election for you. Now we know.

My car has a gas flap that needs to be released from a lwver on the inside of my car. I am STILL considering getting a locking gas cap for another layer of security. I don't think I'm being paranoid either.

Back in the wonderful '70s, people thwarted gas theft by not having full tanks...keeping the fuel level to less than half, a quarter even. Those locking caps were the rage, and easily disposed with using a channellock or locking pliers. Now they're drilling gas tanks...more trouble than its worth, and more expensive to repair.

Oh poor schmoe! The mayhem he wreaked on the people of the United States is going to cause him difficulty? I doubt he is sentient enough to know. He was always too amoral to know.

If my car is locked, my gas cap locks automatically. It’s a standard feature on all Mini Coopers. And my car is always locked, even when it’s closed up in the garage. It’s called “living defensively”.

Back in the ‘70’s we had our gas taken by someone pulling off the gas line to the engine of our ‘68 Ford truck then re-attaching it. Took us a little bit to catch on. We already had locking gas caps.
Number 6, where I came from in the SF Bay Area (escaped, I mean moved, last year) catalytic converters theft was so common a cottage industry had sprung up. Local auto repair shops offered to attach a metal plate to the bottom of your car.
Number 5 - I live in a rural area now but security of what I raise in a concern. I have spent I lot of money building non see-through fences. What is in my yard is not visible from the street or from neighbor’s yards.

Like you didn't see this one coming, right???? Seems like there is something in a tube that fixes tanks...I knocked a hole in my Dodge 4x4 trannie years ago when a U joint failed and the drive line whipped around...I patched it with this stuff, put new fluid in and drove it a couple more years....no problems..seems like it was in a blue tube and had metal in the mastic....and as far as locking gas caps, some vehicles don't even have gas caps...my 2016 Jeep for instance...
