While there are alternatives to Russian oil, they would be insufficient or difficult logistically if the U.S. and its allies were to ban Russian energy imports, analysts said Tuesday. “There’s just no way even OPEC+ and even combined Iran and Venezuela could make up for it,” Vandana Hari, founder of energy intelligence firm Vanda Insights, told CNBC’s “Squawk Box Asia.” Russia’s war in Ukraine shows no sign of abating as the U.S. and its allies weigh banning Russian oil and natural gas imports. Oil prices spiked to highs not seen since 2008, though later pared those gains. There was also

CNBC pffft! Drill baby drill we were 100% energy independent in 2020. Democrats are pushing their impossible green BS at warp speed and it is screwing the US and the world just as THEY planned it!

These two “analysts” seem to be mixing up the US’s banning Russian oil imports with Europe. Am I missing something? We have more than enough to take care of our needs and probably more. The woke Greenies have to shut up and let us be “who we are”...

Is this an admission that it was a mistake to shut down the Canadian pipeline?

They mean we would need to go back to Trump's successful energy policies and "there is just no way" the Democrats can allow that.

China may have the only leader who's not a criminal psychopath.
It's a sad day when we'd take an honest Communist over what we have.

Wait.
The media has been telling us that only 7% of our oil comes from Russia. Surely we can replace 7% of our oil supply.
Or could it be that they're lying about that?
Could it be that the number is three times higher at 21% as reported by Forbes?

What a bunch of horse purge they are spewing now. Trying to set it up so they can claim we don't have enough to replace whatever they stop importing is just more lies from the Left. There is enough product in Alaska alone that could supply the world and totally outpace OPEC, and we have the technology to not even leave much of a footprint either when we take the product.
The Left is bound and determined to destroy this nation, and there isn't enough bandwidth to list all the ways they and their misguided ideas about oil is going to be a major job killer. Thousands of products are made with the byproducts of the oil industry, things like makeup, some of the sporty coats that the trendy youth like to wear and so on. Thousands of things are going to disappear off the shelves, not just food items.

Cut out all fuel usage by all federal agencies, cut out all fuel usage by 'green' representatives and cut out non- essential military usage, like trips to Kalifornia on the weekends and kackle tours to foreign countries. That could make up our 7% easily!

Remember when we had expensive gas under Obama ? He said it would be 10 years to get any benefit from drilling. The ten year later, with no run up, we had $2.25 gas. (Also remember "You can't drill your way to $2. gas?" $2.25 was close enough for me.)
18 months ago we had enough energy to export. What changed?

Fallacious "reasoning" used to argue that we should keep buying Blood Oil from Russia, while we keep restricting the development of our own natural resources.

Gee, if only the USA had oil and natural gas resources of its own to use.
Well, at least Venezuela and Iran will start making some extra money.
And Joe will get his 10%

There was a video doing the e mail rounds some time ago wherein the young man was sitting watching his TV. To illustrate our multiple dependencies on oil, first his remote disappeared, then his TV, then his plastic soda cup, then his trousers ,then ihis socks and shoes, then he was squite naked, his eye glasses disappeared, then his sofa melted away as did the carpet. The only thing left was his dog. Visuals do have impact.
