Is the dam finally breaking on maintaining the fantasy that trans women do not have an inherent advantage over biological females in competitive sports?
Sixteen members of the University of Pennsylvania women’s swim team sent a letter to the school and to the Ivy League, asking them not to take legal action that would challenge the new NCAA rules for transgender athletes to compete. The new rules would make it very difficult for their trans teammate, Lia Thomas, to compete as a female.
The 16 swimmers — out of 39 on the team — are asking that Thomas be sidelined.

Some sanity on this OBVIOUS issue? Amazing.
Men should not pretend to be women to compete in sports. How hard is that to see?

Sixteen swimmers and hundreds of millions of us. Who is so pathetic with a need to win that they pretend to be a woman to compete with women because they are to slow to compete with men!

A third rate guy becomes an elite female athlete because the natural difference between the sexes is that great. I don't know who this guy is but I wouldn't be shocked if he detransitions right after graduation. Meanwhile, he has so distorted the record books that real women will never catch up.
This travesty should NEVER have been allowed.

The rules are the rules. If Thomas is on a swimming scholarship, pulling it would result in a wonderfully sticky discrimination lawsuit. "Her" competing in the second-tier women's division is classic irony. Appreciate it. The ladies supported all this. Now they can have it. Exactly what's their beef? "Equality" isn't fair...

Let her/him/it keep the "scholarship." Lia can hand out the towels to the real women on the swim team.

Ya know I would feel differently about this but the very people who say “if he feels like a woman than he is a woman” are the students who now feel that they have no chance to win against her/him/he/she/IT. I hear students all the time say-oh he thinks he is a woman. Well then swim against this man who THINKS he is a woman and stop complaining. We told you so. Now do not come crying to us when you realize this was a BAD idea. And your parents will probably still send in donations to the college as alumns. If SHE is really committed then cut off your male parts but SHE wont do this because she is not that committed. Easy to say, “I want to play a girl for now to win all the prizes”.
Other than that he probably has a mostly peaceful penis.

Re #8: "Lia" is an XY-chromosome lesbian, meaning that he is still sexually attracted to his authentic female teammates--just as he was before the "transition"--and likes taking showers with them. And he still has all his inadequate equipment. And I completely agree with #6 in that this kind of behavior was effectively encouraged by not being absolutely forbidden, Old Testament style. The woman's record books will have to corrected, striking out every "record" set by a non-female. Otherwise, the "record book" means nothing.
Maybe some enterprising but mediocre competitive cyclist ought to bring a special type of bicycle to the Tour de France: a motorcycle, because the cyclist identifies his motorcycle as a bicycle. After all, they're both two wheelers. No advantage, one over the other. Just win every stage by two hours, wear the yellow jersey, and set records no person can ever beat for the rest of human eternity. This "Lia" character ought to be made a bad example of so this kind of thing stops happening.

Every woman on the women's team should boycott every event where the transhuman is going to compete in. Send a message. Just because the dude snipped off his weenie doesn't make him a "woman".

The female swimmers explained their position very clearly and fairly. Lia can be Lia, however Lia's biological sex and gender identity are very different things. Those differences are important and must be considered in the interests of fairness.

Why not resolve the issue by the NCAA restricting women to women's sports, men to men's sports, and by creating tranny category so they can compete with one another? Do not televise their sport if there is no demand from the public to watch them.

Let "her" compete against the male swimmers "she" used to swim against.
This grandstanding by trannies by competing in women's sports is nauseating.

Recently some men who said they identified as women but who still had their male equipment and who said they were attracted to women-- got that?-- were allowed to go to the female locker room and showers. If they... -- ... couldn't they...-- .....................uh, scr*w it, never mind.

Have a separate category for each "gender", so males pretending to be females compete against other males pretending to be females. Or just have biology determine sports competition categories, the way it's always been done. "Gender identity" should have no role in athletics.

Nobody will take this seriously until a Magic Johnson or Shaq type basketball player decides to identify as female, goes to the WNBA and becomes a 1 woMAN team beating everyone else. Maybe a David Beckham type soccer player could identify as female an join Women's Soccer. Let's see if Megan Loudmouth Rapinoe is still so accepting when she is displaced as the LGBTQ Soccer darling and is trounced every game.

A stronger statement would have been to refuse to compete until little miss Lia went back to the boys' team where HE belongs.

No trans person should be allowed to compete until the have completed their body modification to there identified gender and their hormones have stabilized.
