Many of the woke politicians who have pushed for student-loan cancellation are themselves hip-deep in school debt, federal records reviewed by The Post show.
Most members of “The Squad” — the coterie of socialist legislators led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) — fall into this category. Collectively, they owe between $180,004 and $400,000 in student loans, the records show.
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez had a balance of between $15,001 and $50,000 in federal student loans as of 2020, according to her most recent personal financial disclosure.

You know what? I get it. I don’t paying off debts either. That’s why I only have one of them, a car payment, and the payments are low and manageable. Life is much less stressful when one lives within one’s means, and at a generous salary and benefits, socialist Sandy should have no reason or problem taking care of her financial obligations and responsibilities.

Know what? Student debt is enormous, but most of the country does not own it and doesn't want to pay it. In fact, seethes at the notion of "forgiving" it.
I learned this from James Carville.

Deadbeats get themselves elected to office and, surprise, they cancel their debts. This has a long history.

Why isn’t this made loud and clear on the floor by our “brave” Republican congressmen? Does Nancy Pelosi shut them down completely?

Sandy from the Bronx believes in Hilliary's "It takes a Village" and believes that the village should pay off her debts. Typical elite. Get a job, AOC. Oh wait she has one. Start paying up Sandy.

Hypocrite AOC should be confronted constantly about her student loan debt. Why does she drive a Tesla instead of a Prius?

Even if these loans are paid off, ten years from now you will be right back from where all this started. There are never enough handouts for liberals.

Maybe they don't want to pay back the loans because after all that time and expense, they are still stupid.

I want paid back for paying my kids way through college. I have no interest in paying off someone else's student loans. I don't care what reason you had for taking out the loan, you took it out. Now be responsible people and pay it back. My son in law paid off his by them doing without for a number of years.

AOC’s official salary is not the only income she has - we all know that members of congress get all sorts of funding and perks. Look no further than Ilhan Omar giving her new husband over a million bucks from her campaign coffers for acting as her “consultant”. AOC’s unpaid loan is pocket change compared to what’s actually in her bank accounts.
My husband and I have been living completely debt free for over a decade. No loans, no mortgage and we pay our credit cards off completely at the end of each month. It takes some effort but it can be done.
If you borrowed $200,000 to major in gender studies at some elite university and you’re unemployed and living in mom’s basement, I have no sympathy for you whatsoever. There are millions of jobs available right now. Get one and pay up.

How about being a little more direct on this? Ask the employees of Wal-Mart and Amazon if they would please pay off your student debt. That is, along with everybody else who works for a living. That's what you're asking.

Sandy’s dad was/is an architect. He had the means to pay for all of Sandy’s college expenses. Apparently he chose not to. My speculation, Sandy incurred college loans with little or no intention of paying off the debt. I’d like to see her loan repayment records. So you suppose Sandy is in arrears?

These elitist snobs had no problem in racking up between $180,004 and $400,000 in student loans. Now they believe that is their divine right to have everybody else that live within their means pay it off. People making 6 figure incomes expecting people making 5 figure incomes to pay off their debt are deplorable immoral.

Loan forgiveness is theft. The student loan is a contract to get an education using OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY. If you cancel the repayment term of that contract you have stolen that money. This is theft. Government taking of the property of others is unconstitutional. However the Constitution of The United States of America is our most important contract and the Democrats have never had a qualm about breaking the terms of the constitution.

Why don’t they try calling it what it is? They don’t want forgiveness. They want the taxpayers to assume their debt.

I want my mortgage forgiven. Housing is a fundamental human right. I will not be denied!
And, come to think of it, my country club bill too. I was tricked into that by unscrupulous bankers.

The ethics, and perhaps legality, of such a move is akin to Pelosi pushing a bill that says, "Any female who is ugly and over 80 and who is also named Nancy is entitled to $1,000,000 tax free from the U. S. Treasury, annually for life."

Hey Sandy, start a GoFundMe account to ask people to pay off your debt.
I paid my student debt.
BTW, living debt-free is priceless.

Despite her $174,000 annual salary, AOC hasn't paid off her balance of student loans. And she criticizes everyone for not paying their fair share. She wants her loans wiped out which is why she calls for it. We all want loans paid off like car loans. I spent 18 years paying my college debt making 40k. Pay up!
