The Dangerous ‘Save Democracy’ Movement

Original Article

A casual internet search on the term “save democracy” will retrieve countless articles and opinion pieces from major media outlets contending that free elections in the U.S. will soon be a thing of the past if Congress fails to pass “voting rights” legislation now. The following Washington Post headline is typically portentous: “Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin mull whether democracy is worth saving.” It is little more than an ad hominem attack on the only two Democrats who have resisted pressure to eliminate an arcane Senate rule in order to facilitate federal usurpation of state election prerogatives outlined in the Constitution.

WaPo prints crap that would have made Pravda pause. We don't have mob rule here, despite the breathless praise of democracy, which is nothing but mob rule. All the leftist garbage knows this, but they cannot even bring themselves to be truthful about the core of our government system, which is representative republic. These clowns don't want democracy anyway - they want socialism as the gateway to full-blown communism. Ironically, if that were ever attained, these useful idiots would be the first to be eliminated.

H.R. 1 would: 1. Mandate same-day registration. 2. Require states to automatically register all individuals (as opposed to “citizens”) from state and federal databases. 3. Have the federal government determine a person’s domicile for voting purposes. 4. Make it a criminal offense for a state official to reject a voter registration application even when it is rejected “under color of law” because the official believes the individual is ineligible to vote. 5. Require states to count ballots cast by voters outside of their assigned precincts. 6. Ban witness signature or notarization requirements for absentee ballots. 7. Require states to allow vote harvesting. 8. Prevent election officials from checking the eligibility and qualifications of voters and removing ineligible voters, or removing registrants due to a failure to vote no matter how much time has elapsed. 9. Ban state voter ID laws. 10. Criminalize “hindering, interfering, or preventing” anyone from registering or voting, which could prevent providing any information to election officials about the ineligibility of an individual, such as an applicant not being a U.S. citizen. 11. Reduce the accountability of politicians to the public. 12. Reduce the number of Federal Election Commission members from six to five, allowing the political party with three commission seats to control the commission and engage in partisan enforcement activities. 13. Eliminate the ability of the residents of specific states to make their own decisions about what rules should govern their state government officials. 14. Require states to restore the ability of felons to vote the moment they are out of prison. 15. Transfer the right to draw congressional districts from state legislatures to “independent” commissions whose members are unaccountable to voters. 16. Mandate the inclusion of alien population, both legal and illegal, in all redistricting. And, 17. Prohibit the filing of any lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of H.R. 1 anywhere except in the District Court for the District of Columbia. The very first point that you need to make, which will usually surprise the average person, is "We don't have a democracy, and we never did. We have a representative republic. You are misinformed." Start by denying their fundamental premise is even factual....it puts them way off of their game at the start.

The liberals/media predictably ignore the fact that if they had even one Republican who was supporting this they wouldn’t need Manchin. And if this bill was as wildly popular as the Democrats claim there would be more than one Republican willing to vote for it. #4 has it exactly right. We are a representative republic and this is exactly how it’s meant to work.

For Biden, a day of COVID reckoning is coming 8 replies

For Biden, a day of Covid Reckoning is coming. President Joe Biden has come up with a new set of measures to deal with the surge in COVID cases. The plan, which focuses mostly on assisting hospitals, home testing, and promoting vaccinations, is the latest evidence that Biden, who during the presidential campaign portrayed himself as an experienced leader who knew how to handle the pandemic, was not, in fact, prepared to handle the pandemic. The simple fact is, Biden has failed to live up to his promises to control the pandemic. During his second debate with then-President Donald Trump, Biden pledged to "shut down the virus."

The surprise Sunday was not Sen. Joe Manchin’s announcement on "Fox News Sunday" that he won’t support President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better (BBB) bill, but the White House reaction to his declaration. It should not have been a shock. For months Manchin, D-W.Va., had expressed strong concerns about the bill’s spending, tax increases, expanded welfare benefits, and anti-domestic energy provisions. Recent events – notably last week’s latest inflation numbers and a Congressional Budget Office report the week before revealing that the BBB’s true 10-year cost was $3 trillion higher than what the measure’s supporters were flacking – only reinforced the West Virginian’s belief this gigantic buffet of "free"

U.S. Border Patrol agents continue to apprehend sex offenders, criminals, and gang members along the southern border, with one apprehension turning deadly after a human smuggler crashed into a local resident’s car and killed a mother and daughter in Mission, Texas.Border patrol agents have apprehended nearly 2 million people who’ve entered the U.S. illegally since the Biden administration began its open border policy, reversing existing policies and ignoring immigration laws passed by Congress. Despite an increased workload and staff shortages, agents still manage to arrest gang members, convicted sex offenders and other criminals attempting to enter the U.S. illegally. Over the weekend, agents in Laredo apprehended a Mexican national and MS-13

The number of people moving to California has significantly dropped since the pandemic started last year, while the number of people fleeing the state continues to rise, according to a new study. "I guess I was a little bit surprised to see that entrances had fallen so much. It wasn't so much that we saw it in a particular area. For me, the surprise was that this was a statewide phenomenon," co-author of the study from California Police Lab, Evan White, told KCRA.The study found a 38% decrease in people moving to California at the end of September 2021 compared to the end of March 2020.

There may be a rematch coming in the 2024 race for the White House. But we're not talking (God help us) Biden-Trump II. Instead, 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton is an interesting prospect to consider when looking for a viable candidate, particularly if an 80-something President Biden decides not to seek a second term. And why would he? Just 22 percent of voters want him to seek a second term, according to a I&I-TIPP poll. It doesn't get much better when polling only Democrats, where just 36 percent want to see the president run again, with that juggernaut candidate named "someone else" coming in first with 44 percent support.

Oops, he did it again. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., is now running the same con against a fellow lawmaker. During a hearing Monday night on the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, Adam Schiff claimed to have proof that a member of Congress texted former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows to instruct former Vice President Mike Pence to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.

A new poll from Quinnipiac Polling Group indicates that incumbent Governor Greg Abbott is well on his way to victory in the 2022 midterm elections. The survey of 1,224 registered voters found Abbott has opened a 53 percent to 37 percent lead, a whopping 15 point margin in the early going. Beto’s poor early numbers suggest the “purple Texas” narrative is under threat of collapse. The Biden border catastrophe, Beto’s insufferable Austin tech-bro liberalism, and collapsing support among Hispanic voters threaten humiliation for Texas Democrats. The Democratic weakness in Texas may come as a surprise to Republicans who watched with horror as Beto threatened to lead a successful progressive insurgency

Everyone’s understandably focused today on how Cheney embarrassed Trump Jr and the Fox News gang by reading their texts to Trump on January 6. Ed has a nice write-up about it here. But don’t miss the forest for the trees. The point Cheney was making isn’t that Fox News hosts are hypocrites, although they are. The point is that the president’s own family and allies were pleading with him while the riot was unfolding to do something, yet he did nothing — for hours. Everyone around him treated it like an emergency. Not him. Was that a crime? Watch the end of this clip, starting at around 3:00.

As has been clear for some time now, the fortunes of Joe Biden’s Build Back Better legislation and the state of the US economy are inextricably linked. With every bit of economic bad news, such as the worse-in-40-years inflation figures announced on Friday, the chances of the president securing 50 votes for his monster spending bill seem to fade. Today, Biden will meet Joe Manchin and try to win the West Virginia holdout round. But one suspects nothing the president says to Manchin would be as persuasive as some good economic news — in particular, an easing of the price rises that Manchin has long said are a major reason

merican humorist Edgar Wilson Nye famously observed, “Wagner’s music is better than it sounds.” Recently, the White House and its numerous allies in the “news” media have been telling an increasingly skeptical electorate a similarly self-refuting tale about the Biden economy. The left was outraged and the claims that Biden and Schumer had been snookered by Manchin were widespread and, as it seems, scripted. The use of the word “played” is everywhere. If you aren’t white, you may not be able to go way outside. At least, that appears to be the belief of a North Carolina State University professor. KangJae “Jerry” Lee — of the school’s College of Natural Resources — recognizes the racism keeping you from enjoying the great outdoors. Cultural differences, he asserts, can’t explain why there aren’t more black people fishing, hunting, and hiking. Also an insufficient excuse: income disparity. The instructor laments America’s adventure/nature gap, but he’s bulls-eyed the culprit: systemic racism. Wichita’s KAKE recently jawed it up with Jerry on the lack of outdoor equity.
