Coronavirus may have been created in
a Wuhan lab ‘genetic engineering’
experiment

A growing number of scientists are raising the possibility COVID-19 was created in a laboratory, saying the option cannot be ruled out. Leading immunologists and geneticists have told Sky News that there are two unusual things about COVID-19 that open the door to it being man-made rather than a naturally-occurring virus. The first curious characteristic of COVID-19 is that the virus binds to human ACE2 receptor cells more strongly than it does to any other animal, including bats. The second unusual thing about the virus that causes COVID-19 is that it has what’s called a “furin cleavage site” that its closest genetic bat-coronavirus relative, RaTG-13, does not have.

Comments:

This needs more investigating. Since two months ago the American media have been parroting the WHO party line, but his looks a lot like a biological warfare move by China.

Who with even a few working brain cells didn't suspect this might be the case? Especially when it was pooh-poohed and denied and marked as conspiracy theory so rapidly when it was suggested? And especially given the deep state/democrat axis utilization of it to tank the economy and smear the President? The traitors in our government (at all levels) who are helping the Chinese need to be standing in front of a wall pretty soon. (after a fair, 5-min trial, of course.)

Sharri, this information is three months old. There are a lot of holes in your piece. For example, you didn't discuss where the Wuhan lab acquired the predecessor virus sample from in order to synthesize the COVID 19 strain. Information in February suggested the University of Texas had supplied the sample as approved by none other than Fauci at the NIH. Another news source out of Canada reported that the predecessor virus sample was acquired in 2018 from the National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg Canada. The Chinese nationals who worked at NML and facilitated shipping the sample were subsequently fired and never heard from again. The Canadian press also reported that in 2019 Chinese managers and researchers at the NML who helped arrange the virus sample shipment were suspended without pay and are currently under criminal investigation. Next time, Sharri, do your homework better.

Think what you want but I'm sticking to my proposal that these dangerous Coronaviruses are popping up out of ice cores that contain ice, and ANCIENT VIRUSES from 15,000 years ago when the Mega Fauna started dying off ~ the Mastadons, Columbians, Saber Toothed Tigers, giant elk, etc ~ It's the AGW people doing all the ice core work, and we all know who they are. I proposed that my thesis could be tested by infecting some elephants with Corona Virus and see if they die. Lo and behold the first major story of large scale elephant deaths just popped up in the news! Botswana reports finding hundreds of carcases ~ with no signs of having been shot by poachers. https://africa.cgtn.com/2020/05/19/56-elephants-mysteriously-died-in-botswana/

I am still skeptical. This assumes skills that the ChiComs may well not have. They are more incompetent than most think. And, frankly, most military and actual governments gave up on bioweapons long ago, recognizing that they were uncontrollable. Only insane 7th century types are willing to do this sort of stuff, and they are fortunately, so far, incapable.

Re #9. I agree. I think it's mainly incompetence. Another theory is that the low-paid, clean-up employees at the Wuhan lab were taking the 'used' or dead bats to the wet market and selling them for extra cash. I have no idea if this is true but it would not be too much of a stretch to see a bats-to-human connection in that case.

#9, more incompetent is impossible. incompetent is an absolute condition, sort of comparable to dead. One can't be more dead than someone else who is dead. Less competent, however, is a possible condition. I consider most people to be less competent than I, and that works out pretty well for me. That's why I'm correcting your statement - that, and the fact that Antiques Roadshow is not on PBS tonight. And people are rioting, even here in Erie, Pa. (Although last night, the police told the protesters/rioters/anarchists to stop, go home, and they did!)

It may have been created in a Wuhan lab as a bioweapons experiment, since the genetic intervention is aimed directly at infecting humans. Maybe our CIA can drop their Trump and domestic political spying and go investigate to find out what happened.

Two things occurred to our editorial team as we watched things spin out of control at the Capitol yesterday afternoon: First, we knew this would be one of those few-in-a-lifetime days that we remember because of its uniqueness and its gravity [Snip] Searching for some honor and decency amid the rubble that was January 6, 2021, we came across these simple words from Vice President Mike Pence: “It’s my considered judgment that my oath to support and defend the Constitution constrains me from claiming unilateral authority to determine which electoral votes should be counted and which should not.”

After a 16-month investigation into competitive practices at Apple, Amazon, Facebook and Google, the House Judiciary subcommittee on antitrust has released Tuesday its findings and recommendations on how to reform laws to fit the digital age. In a nearly 450-page report, the Democratic majority staff laid out their takeaways from hearings, interviews and the 1.3 million documents they scoured throughout the investigation. They conclude that the four Big Tech companies enjoy monopoly power and suggest Congress take up changes to antitrust laws that could result in parts of their businesses being separated. The recommendations from Democratic staff include:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revised its guidance on the coronavirus Monday, acknowledging that it can sometimes spread through airborne particles that can “linger in the air for minutes to hours” and among people who are more than six feet apart. “These transmissions occurred within enclosed spaces that had inadequate ventilation,” the CDC’s new guidance says. “Sometimes the infected person was breathing heavily, for example while singing or exercising.” This is breaking news. A team of engineers from the U.K. and Germany says a newly developed material could be a breakthrough for a wide range of industries requiring safety or protective equipment. Proteus — named for the shape-shifting aquatic deity of Greek mythology — is the first manufactured material that cannot be cut, researchers from Durham University and the Fraunhofer Institute write in the journal Scientific Reports. The lightweight substance consists of ceramic spheres surrounded by a cellular aluminum structure, which combine to render cutting tools — including angle grinders, drills, and high-pressure water jets — ineffective. Although video footage released by the team shows

While dealing with the Wuhan coronavirus is taking up a lot of America’s attention, it doesn’t mean we should avoid thinking about the future. The fact of the matter is that while we have to hold the People’s Republic of China accountable, the Butchers of Beijing are not the only ones who bear a great deal of blame for that outbreak becoming a global pandemic. There needs to be a long look at the World Health Organization, which was an accessory to the cover-up that emerged from what was, at best, reckless disregard for, if not a depraved indifference to

Boeing’s new spacecraft, the CST-100 Starliner, experienced a partial failure during its first test flight to the International Space Station (ISS) on December 20, 2019. However, an error in the mission timer aboard the capsule meant that the spacecraft fell short in its orbit and could not rendezvous with the station as intended. Boeing said that had there been a crew on board, they would not have been in danger. More so, a crew on

What a difference two weeks makes. Two Fridays ago, pundits seemed to be beside themselves over what was the latest flare up in the U.S.-China trade war. President Trump raised tariffs in retaliation for China’s retaliatory tariffs, he called Fed Chairman Jerome Powell an “enemy,” and the Dow plummeted 623 points while the Nasdaq closed 3% lower. New formal talks between the U.S. and China have been announced for next month, and there are even high-level Chinese sources suggesting a breakthrough could occur at those meetings.

I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.
