CDC revises coronavirus guidance
to acknowledge that it spreads
through airborne transmission

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revised its guidance on the coronavirus Monday, acknowledging that it can sometimes spread through airborne particles that can “linger in the air for minutes to hours” and among people who are more than six feet apart. “These transmissions occurred within enclosed spaces that had inadequate ventilation,” the CDC’s new guidance says. “Sometimes the infected person was breathing heavily, for example while singing or exercising.” This is breaking news. Please check back for updates. (Entire story)

Comments:

This is significant for two reasons: (1) Airborne transmission (less than 5 micron drops or particles) isn't stopped by medical masks, much less those stupid nonmedical masks they make us wear. (2) The CDC has been consistently telling us that airborne transmission doesn't happen. Surprise! Then there's the mantra "I'm wearing my mask to protect you." What's the first thing that happens when someone has a fit of coughing while wearing a mask? The cougher starts to suffocate and off comes the mask of course so he can breathe.

So if I read this correctly the CDC scientists say I should wear a mask Tuesdays / Thursdays between 4 and 6 PM. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 to noon I hide under the bed. SARCOFF.

Oh and sorry for the double but when I was born in Canada the scientists said that my life expectancy was 65 years, then I'd get sick and die. I'm 75. Here's to borrowed time. If I get sick and die then apparently I outlasted a lot of my contemporaries. Monty Python plague skit. Bring out your dead !!! I'm not dead yet. Feel pretty good actually. Think I'll take a walk around the block.

What the hell? And why is it that we have been harangued to wear masks and stand apart if it wasn't OBVIOUSLY transmitted through the air? This has been know for 7 months, you idiots.

The "medical authorities" have been insisting that the virus is only, or mostly, being spread by big drops of mucus, sputum, etc. Those drops are stopped by medical masks and partly stopped by nonmedical masks (but probably not at all by those neck gaiters and scarves that are so popular). What happens when those drops get in the air? Evaporation, which makes for tiny drops (airborne transmission), that's what. Why did the CDC take so long to acknowledge it?

The CDC revised its guidance AGAIN. Here's what i try to do when not at home: don't touch door handles; DO NOT touch face, eyes, or --of course-- nose. Now you'll notice Biden's very poor mask habits. He wears one, but he fidgets with it, one time i was watching (sound off) when he pulled the stupid mask down, exposing his nose which he smooshed around with hi fingers, then sliding the now clearly snotty mask up with his snotty fingers over his snotty nose. Now he has unwashed hands and fingers. His fingers weren't all that far away from his eyes. The eyes are another easy access point for germs. So if he used his little pinky to scratch the corner of his eye he could introduce into his system. Needless to say, he touches multiple surfaces wherever he is, even if he doesn't shake hands, and does the distancing thing, ergo he certainly puts everyone others at risk with his grubby fingers.

Here is a test. Put on a face mask and go near someone smoking a cigarette. If you can smell it with a mask on just pretend it’s Corona virus. That’s how well it works. In other work there are totally ineffective in keeping a virus bug in or out. But make sure you follow government orders and wear one like a good sheeple. I was driving yesterday and spotted a young woman driving with Windows rolled up next to me with a big mask on, swimmers eye goggles and a face shield. I just about spewed my nonfat latte out of my nose.

I also might ask that if it is transmitted by air and the masks didn't work for Trump and Mcanany, and the Republicans, how come the Democrat reporters aren't down with it when they were all in the same combined space with inadequate ventilation.

I have written many columns on COVID-19, which has become a major cause of death and disability in all of North America and the world. I have consistently recommended the available vaccines, and tried to identify their (modest) risks and (dramatic) effectiveness. Recently, I have received many letters so full of misinformation that I wanted to devote today's column to identifying some partial truths, myths and plain lies I hear over and over. Myth: "The virus is not so dangerous, and 99.99% of people recover." The United States case fatality ratio is 1.8%, near the worldwide average of 2%.

In a recently published article titled “The Lab-Leak Theory: Inside the Fight to Uncover COVID-19’s Origins,” investigative journalist Katherine Eban details how individuals within the U.S. State Department sought to suppress any notion of the coronavirus having originated in a lab in Wuhan, China. Needless to say, the evidence presented of an intentional cover-up by deep state actors (and a complicit Leftmedia) is both compelling and deeply troubling. This scandal exposes the reality that political considerations motivated individuals within the State Department to hide the facts from the American people. Eban writes: Interviews with more than 40 people, and a

A team of engineers from the U.K. and Germany says a newly developed material could be a breakthrough for a wide range of industries requiring safety or protective equipment. Proteus — named for the shape-shifting aquatic deity of Greek mythology — is the first manufactured material that cannot be cut, researchers from Durham University and the Fraunhofer Institute write in the journal Scientific Reports. A growing number of scientists are raising the possibility COVID-19 was created in a laboratory, saying the option cannot be ruled out. Leading immunologists and geneticists have told Sky News that there are two unusual things about COVID-19 that open the door to it being man-made rather than a naturally-occurring virus. The first curious characteristic of COVID-19 is that the virus binds to human ACE2 receptor cells more strongly than it does to any other animal, including bats. The second unusual thing about the virus that causes COVID-19 is that it has what’s called a “furin cleavage site” that its closest genetic bat-coronavirus relative, RaTG-13, does not have.

While dealing with the Wuhan coronavirus is taking up a lot of America’s attention, it doesn’t mean we should avoid thinking about the future. The fact of the matter is that while we have to hold the People’s Republic of China accountable, the Butchers of Beijing are not the only ones who bear a great deal of blame for that outbreak becoming a global pandemic. There needs to be a long look at the World Health Organization, which was an accessory to the cover-up that emerged from what was, at best, reckless disregard for, if not a depraved indifference to
