What a cowardly and shameful final chapter for Dr. Anthony Fauci, who pleaded the Fifth 111 times in the Senate Wednesday even though he has a pre-emptive presidential pardon that gives him immunity from prosecution.
In the history of Congress, only a couple of mob bosses have invoked the privilege more.
“On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer, based upon my rights, under the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution,” the Machiavellian career bureaucrat said over and over in the nearly three-hour hearing before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
But Fauci’s silence rendered him a villain more powerfully than his usual sly deceptions.
Shameful, too,

Feasibility studies for a high-speed rail project began in 2006. By 2018, the first section was completed and opened, seven years after construction was started. Where is this bullet train? Not in California. It’s in Morocco.
California voters approved in 2008 a ballot measure for a “safe, convenient, affordable, and reliable alternative to driving and high gas prices” by a 53%-47% margin. Golden Staters were sold a train that would require a $10 billion bond and cost $33 billion to complete. Within a dozen years it would be ripping up and down the state at 220 mph, ferrying passengers between San Diego and Sacramento.

A survey by Michigan Education — conducted by the Glengariff Group and commissioned by the Michigan Education Association and Business Leaders for Michigan — finds Rogers leading El-Sayed by 10 points in a hypothetical matchup. Stevens holds a slim lead over Rogers in a direct matchup, with the Democrat congresswoman drawing nearly 46 percent support to the Michigan Republican’s 45 percent. Another nearly 9 percent of respondents remained undecided.
Moreover, the statewide poll of likely voters notes it has a margin of error of four points, meaning Stevens and Rogers are essentially tied in the hypothetical Senate race.
“This race is a toss-up,” the Glengariff Group noted in their survey.

Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) said Tuesday that the State Department is set to reinstate funding for a global humanitarian vaccine program after the Trump administration previously paused the program.
“It is welcome news that following our recent outreach, the State Department has committed to contributing the full $600 million for GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance,” Collins said in a Tuesday press release. I have worked to ensure that the Department uses this funding Congress appropriated to replenish U.S. funding to GAVI, an organization that plays a critical role in averting the spread of preventable diseases globally and stopping outbreaks before they reach U.S. borders,” she added.

“What is a think tank?” is a question I get asked all the time.
The job of a think tank is to generate the ideas that politicians implement in office. If politics were the movie industry, those we elect would be the stars on the big screen; think tanks help write the script.
“But don’t politicians have ideas of their own?” I hear you ask.
Of course, they do (though having spent twelve years in the UK's House of Commons before running a think tank, I’d suggest they have them less often than you might imagine). Even with a clear goal -- cutting taxes, improving childcare,

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced three separate nationwide drug recalls involving thyroid medication, an injectable antibiotic, and an injectable blood vessel medication because of manufacturing issues that could pose health risks to patients.
The recalls involve certain lots of levothyroxine sodium tablets distributed by Major Pharmaceuticals, Cefazolin in Dextrose Injection manufactured by Baxter International, and Papaverine Hydrochloride Injection produced by American Regent Inc.
Here’s what patients and healthcare providers should know about each recall.

[T]he pro-Hamas lobby is circulating a mass petition calling for the expulsion of the Israeli Medical Association from the World Medical Association.
The petition – which blames the Israeli doctors for alleged bias and omits any mention of Hamas' war crimes – was amplified in June by once-respected UK medical journal The Lancet, clearly crossing the line between professional medical publication and blatant propaganda.
Far from providing medical evidence or reflecting professional ethics, the petition, as echoed by The Lancet, recycles political slogans and ancient blood libels, accusing Israel of "genocide" and the destruction of Gaza's health system. Of course,

The [US-Saudi civilian nuclear] agreement threatens to weaken decades of US non-proliferation policy, ignite a regional arms race, embolden America's adversaries, and create security risks that future generations may be powerless to reverse.
The most controversial aspect of the proposed agreement is that it reportedly allows Saudi Arabia to develop domestic uranium enrichment capabilities under safeguards that fall short of the stringent standards previously demanded by Washington. While low-enriched uranium is used to fuel civilian nuclear reactors, the same technology can eventually produce highly enriched uranium suitable for nuclear weapons.

Last Friday, Joe Biden gave up the fight and declined to seek further review of an appeals court ruling on the release of 70 hours of conversations with his ghostwriter in 2017.
This was years before Democrats pushed Old Joe to run for president and rigged the primary and general elections in his favor.
The Oversight Project on Monday afternoon released recordings of Joe Biden’s interviews with his ghostwriter Mark Zwonitzer. Oversight Project published more than 70 hours of recordings from Biden’s 2016 and 2017 conversations with his “Promise Me, Dad” ghostwriter, Mark Zwonitzer.

In the wake of a mass shooting in Seattle Sunday, the city’s Socialist Mayor Katie Wilson is facing scrutiny for deactivating surveillance cameras in parts of the city to protect criminals and illegal aliens.

The French have done it again. The nation that gave the world the baguette, camembert cheese, and snooty accents crossed a big red line on social media after a U.N. Security Council meeting on Friday. The U.S. envoy, Dan Negrea, a senior delegation official and alternate representative at the General Assembly, slammed France’s “disingenuous grandstanding” and walked out during a Monday meeting
What drew the ire of the seasoned diplomat? France compared the United States to… North Korea.
No, seriously. Negrea took the French to task over their dishonest smear of the United States.

It is apropos that the same week that former NIAID Director Dr. Anthony Fauci will be grilled before the Senate on his COVID deception and falsehoods, Joe Biden's former Health and Human Services Secretary and CA governor candidate Xavier Becerra would also be in the crosshairs. Becerra is already under scrutiny for the 300,000 unaccompanied minors that went missing under his watch, when he served as HHS Secretary. On Monday, a whistleblower came forward and pulled the lid off of just how the sponsors of these children were vetted. Or rather, how they were not vetted.
