The brand-new city manager of upscale Sausalito, California was arrested on felony burglary charges after allegedly breaking into multiple yachts at the Sausalito Yacht Harbor, a mere three weeks into her high-paying gig. Elaine Forbes, 53, who just started as Sausalito’s city manager on July 1 with a whopping $275,000 taxpayer-funded annual salary, was hauled off by Marin County sheriff’s deputies around 6:50 a.m. on Saturday after responding to a noise complaint, Deputies reportedly found her aboard a vessel she didn’t own, trying to start the boat, leaving behind messes with empty alcohol bottles, sounding the yacht’s loud horns, and even wearing the owner’s clothing.

The last Democratic candidate to appeal to the white working-class voter was Bill Clinton. He needed every one of those voters in his 1992 and 1996 races. Yet he still failed to win 50 percent of the popular vote because of Ross Perot’s third-party candidacy. Hunting for the Left-Wing Blue-Collar American Since then, the Democratic brand has lost the white working-class vote in nearly every presidential election. Yet this demographic still makes up 40 percent of the electorate and registers and votes at much higher rates than non-white groups. A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Ann Widdecombe, an icon of British conservatism who was found dead at her Devon home earlier this month. Joshua Kerry, 28, is accused of killing Widdecombe, 78, at her bungalow in Haytor on July 8. Prosecutors allege he struck her 21 times with a hammer after entering the property while she was eating lunch. During a brief appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, Kerry confirmed his name, date of birth and address. He did not enter a plea.

It's been 18 years since the Supreme Court held that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms, and in the nearly two decades since the Court has only taken up six cases directly related to those rights. Five years after Heller, SCOTUS struck down Chicago's ban on handguns, and in 2016 the justices issued a per curiam opinion that Massachusetts' justification for banning stun guns did not comport with Heller or McDonald. It took another six years for the Court to conclude that the right to bear arms was violated by New York's "may issue" permitting scheme.

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill is blaming a software glitch in the state's motor vehicle system for accidentally registering 6,660 noncitizens to vote. She further acknowledged Tuesday about 400 of those foreigners voted in recent election despite a legal ban on foreigners voting in federal elections. The admission came less than a week after President Donald Trump gave a primetime address presenting evidence of election vulnerabilities, including hundreds of thousands of noncitizens who made it on voter rolls, spy agency concerns about voting machine security and a Chinese effort to obtain American voter data.

The Justice Department said Tuesday that it is monitoring polling locations in three Arizona counties as voters head to the sites for the day's state's primaries. A fourth American soldier believed to have been killed in recent Iranian attacks on US military bases has been identified, the Pentagon announced Tuesday, as American forces bombed Iran for an 11th straight night. “Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, 28, of Ozone Park, New York, is believed to have been killed in action on July 17, 2026, during an enemy attack at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, Jordan,” read a statement released by the Department of War. “The incident is under investigation,” the statement continued. “US Central Command previously announced this Soldier as missing. The Soldier status was updated to a Duty Status–Whereabouts Unknown and is believed to be deceased.”

Harmeet Dhillon, assistant attorney general at the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, is prepared to address potential election irregularities in Arizona while also bringing the hammer down on acknowledged fraud in New Jersey. It’s primary Election Day in Arizona, with multiple key races — particularly Republican primaries — occurring, including governor, attorney general, secretary of state, and House District 1. Given Arizona’s track record of highly-contested and possibly rigged elections, it’s not surprising Dhillon put teams on the ground. We can never have too many precautions against election shenanigans in my home state, run as it is by very corrupt Democrats.

My RedState colleague Ward Clark reported earlier on some of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth's testimony before the Senate Appropriations Committee. In addition to testifying about how his department was building back the "warrior ethos," Hegseth outlined the many things they had to deal with after the neglect of the Biden administration, including the prior administration's failure to properly address things like hypersonics. Hegseth termed the negligence "staggering," saying he didn't know what the prior Defense Secretary, Lloyd Austin, had done. However, Hegseth didn't stop there; he not only took on the Biden failure, but the present Democrat Senate recalcitrance to fund his department.

Congressman Andy Biggs emerged as one of the big winners Tuesday night as Arizona Republicans chose nominees to face Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs and Attorney General Kris Mayes in November. While Republicans have controlled the Legislature for decades, the Democrats’ hold on the offices of governor and attorney general has served as a check on their policy agenda. Hobbs has vetoed hundreds of Republican-backed bills since taking office in 2023, while Mayes has pushed back on a number of GOP legislative and federal priorities. Hobbs and Mayes both ran unopposed in the Democratic primaries. The winners of the general election will serve four-year terms in office.

The Trump administration has accused UC San Diego's medical school of illegally discriminating against White and Asian applicants in favor of admitting less qualified Black and Hispanic students, putting nearly $1 billion in federal funding at risk. The findings stem from a months-long Justice Department Civil Rights Division investigation launched in March and come as the Trump administration intensifies its effort to dismantle diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.

On Tuesday night, the House passed a stopgap measure that calls for the funding of the federal government until December 4th. That's after the midterm elections, which means Republicans could avert a pre-election government shutdown, assuming the measure passes the Senate. But that is not a done deal, of course, considering Democrats would love nothing better than to instigate another shutdown to try and pin on President Trump and congressional Republicans ahead of November: But the fate of the measure was deeply uncertain, with Democrats opposed and the Senate G.O.P. leader casting doubt on the chances of quick action in his chamber,

President Donald Trump declared Tuesday that the United States is “not finished at all” with Iran, warning U.S. forces would strike the regime’s heavily fortified Pickaxe Mountain nuclear site “pretty soon” while signaling his administration was prepared to expand military operations rather than return to negotiations.
