It's been more than three weeks since Sen. Mitch McConnell was admitted to the hospital, and while questions about his health remain unanswered, we're hearing from the senator's wife for the first time.
In a statement sent to WLKY on Tuesday, a spokesperson for Elaine Chao said: "The secretary was on a long-planned trip in China to support her family's philanthropic endeavors. During the trip, she met with a number of people, including the US ambassador. The Senator's health did not warrant an immediate return to the US.” They added that Chao has since returned from her trip to China and is back in the U.S. Her staff did not say

Yesterday, President Trump rang the stock market bell from the Oval Office, and with it launched the Trump Accounts, accounts for American children that will help set them up with a solid financial future. Children born between 2025 and 2028 will get $1,000 as part of the 'One Big Beautiful Bill' that was passed last summer, and some children aged ten and under will get $250 added to their accounts in a private donation from Michael and Susan Dell. Michael Dell is the founder of Dell Technologies. Senator Ted Cruz called the Trump Accounts a 'game changer' for America's kids back in January,

The socialist wave has already crashed well beyond New York City. Now the Democratic Socialists of America is even taking swings at swing states.
The latest far-left darling is Francesca Hong, a leading candidate to win the Democrat primary in the Wisconsin governor’s race.
One might call her the Zohran Mamdani of the Midwest, but there are a few contenders now vying for that title.
Hong has unsurprisingly grabbed hold of the issues that have become hallmarks of the insurgency taking place within the Democratic Party.
She has stood proudly by her “democratic socialist” label, made wealthy people the bogeymen of her campaign (despite a seemingly upper-middle-class constituency), unrepentantly backed the obliteration of U.S.

Democrats might have shouldered Spencer Pratt out of the Los Angeles mayoral race, but they only made him more determined to expose corruption in the city.
Pratt’s new documentary series will expose not only misuses and abuses but outright criminal violations, according to him. As he talks to businessmen, residents, and whistleblowers around L.A., Pratt will show the full political-criminal machine wrecking a major American city. Pratt’s newest video begins with some of his previous comments. “Now that the campaign portion of my mission to save Los Angeles is coming to a close, and I'm moving on to the next, more interesting phase, you have no idea how bad

Somali American and Muslim community members in Minnesota are raising concerns about safety and Islamophobia after President Donald Trump posted a video showing children at a St. Paul kindergarten graduation ceremony, including several young girls wearing hijabs.
The 14-second clip, originally taken from a livestream of a graduation ceremony at Gateway STEM Academy, a public charter school in St. Paul, appeared on Trump's Truth Social account without a caption. While the president did not add commentary, Somali Minnesotans and Muslim advocacy organizations say the repost amplified online narratives targeting Minnesota's Somali and Muslim communities and has left families concerned about the safety of children and schools.

It became mandatory Tuesday for citizens of the European Union’s 27 member states to allow their cars to track their movements using artificial intelligence.
The European Union’s General Safety Regulation mandated Advanced Driver Distraction Warning (ADDW) systems that track drivers’ body movements, such as eye and head movements, in every new vehicle sold after July 7, according to Access Newswire.
“This is a driver support system,” Martin Krantz, CEO and Founder of Swedish AI company Smart Eye, told the Daily Caller News Foundation in an interview. “It’s a life-saving technology. It really helps to prevent accidents. It’s probably gonna be just like with the seat belt and the airbag.”

The White House is getting a permanent helipad installed on the South Lawn.
President Donald Trump confirmed to reporters in the Oval Office on Monday that the White House is getting a granite helipad paid for by Sikorsky Aircraft — a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin — to support the new fleet of helicopters used as Marine One.
A Lockheed Martin spokesperson confirmed the contribution and told Business Insider it was being made to the National Park Service. Trump said the permanent fixture will help protect the South Lawn's grass.
The newer helicopters from Sikorsky are about "two and a half times more powerful than the old ones," Trump said. "When you land

Derek Chauvin’s attorney, Gregory Joseph, has filed a notice of appeal with the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
Joseph—who did not represent Chauvin during his initial state trial—has been representing him since November 2024 and filed the notice last week.
The filing is a notice to appeal the dismissal of a previous appeal filed last fall.
In that appeal, Joseph argued that there were several problems in the initial trial related to expert witness testimony, the video evidence presented, and the instructions to the jury, which, as Joseph pointed out, permitted the jury to consider a conviction based on an “attempt to attempt to” commit a crime.
He also raised questions about

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the State Department is developing a system that would allow Americans to take and upload passport photos from their phones or computers as part of a broader effort to modernize the passport application process and reduce wait times.
Speaking last week at a reception for the State Department’s launch of a commemorative passport marking the nation’s 250th anniversary, Rubio outlined plans to let applicants complete nearly the entire passport application online. The proposal would eliminate one of the most common hurdles for applicants: obtaining printed passport photos that meet federal requirements.
