The Memorandum of Understanding with Iran appears not to have lasted for 48 hours, as Iran has once again blocked the Strait of Hormuz:
Iran re-closed the Strait of Hormuz Friday instead of heading to Switzerland for nuclear negotiations, citing Israel’s refusal to pull forces out of southern Lebanon and US forces’ ongoing presence in the region.
In a statement read over maritime radio channels, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the US was in violation of the memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran, which President Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed Wednesday.

Only the Iranian people can bring about regime change ... Surely it is worth it to them. Or have they been subjugatedd for so long tghat the terror of the IRGC has robbed them pf their courage?

Damn it Trump, forget about the Nobel Peace Prize for God's sake and do what you should have done several weeks - finish the job, and turn Israel loose on the Revolutionary Guard. Everyone but Trump and Vance know that you can't deal with the terrorists who rule Iran. Whatever happened to the long standing U.S. policy of not dealing with terrorists? We are looking weak and foolish, UGH !!!

I'm going to speculate that this was part of the calculation for Trump signing the MOU early on Wednesday instead of what was originally stated for Friday.
He knew the IRGC would rear their ugly side as they don't like the terms.
He's shown as trying hard to negotiate, to be reasonable and looking for peace throughout the Middle East.
It's now clear the IRGC is the problem - always has been.
Peace will be horrible for the IRGC as it weakens their position in the region.

This action by Iran/Persia will not stand. President Trump knew they would renege on the MOU. As in chess you anticipate your opposition's next move and move accordingly. Iran doesn't know it yet, but they've lost the war. Their moves are the last ditch moves of a dying regime. As the old saying goes, give your enemy enough rope and they will hang themselves on it.

I'm starting to think that we need to end this war the same way we ended the war with Japan. They were going to fight it out and we just decided that we weren't going to do it their way. So we hit two cities with nukes and suddenly......they realized that "Yep, we are defeated.".
I'm serious. We should just nuke some major military location, a small nuke. Then see how they react. They are ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that we wouldn't do that. So is the rest of the world.

Even Thomas Jefferson found you can’t negotiate with these animals. Nobody can say Trump didn’t try diplomacy, he bent over backwards. The time has come to rid the world of this scurge.

I'm with posters # 5, 7 and 8. President Trump is no fool, and won't suffer the company of fools. The only reason the Iranian people have not as yet tried to take the lunatic IRGC fools out is likely due to the mullahs killing around 40,000 Iranians just a few months ago. Guess who they were? Yeah, likely the Iranians who would've taken the crazy mullahs out by now if they hadn't been slaughtered. The rest of the people in the country are weaponless and likely a bit dejected.
We've already seen Plan A and B by President Trump, or at least most of them, so now is the time for Plan C which hopefully will be the downfall of the crazed IRGC who appear to be the only thing between the Iranian people and freedom. I really can't see how the Israelis aren't chomping at the bit to exterminate those looney tunes.

Nothing has changed other than Iran's nuke program has been delayed, and Iran has to replace much of its weaponry.

Please forgive me for saying this, BUT I told you so. As I have said many times before the IRGC needs to be eliminated as soon as possible. Iran is telling Hezbollah to attack, attack Israel. Iran is the head of the snake and we all know once Iran regime is removed then maybe a lot of this will go away and we can get back to a normal life. I'm not sure who is providing Trump guidance on Iran, maybe this person should step down.

Establish a Hormuz Zone (where we control the water and both shores) to provide safe passage of international shipping, the way we had for years in Panama. And while we're at it, re-establish the Panama Canal Zone, which we should never have abrogated, in the first place.

I have said it before and I will say it again. This is a Thomas Jefferson versus the Barbary Pirates situation. We don't know how long that festered. We don't know how long that took to work out. We know the result. We will know the result of this. And I believe it will be, in history, a Thomas Jefferson versus the Barbary Pirates story.

I can't keep track of who is opening the strait and who is closing it. It seems to change daily.

So, to really end this, we need to get rid of the IRGC. To do that we need to get them to concentrate in the open. To do that we have to give them a reason to "come out and play" that they CAN'T disregard. The only thing I can think of that would give them that reason is to TAKE their "holy" city: Qom (sp?). Not easy since it's not near an accessible border. But if done, fortify it, and use air power to make it suicidal to approach. Then kill the fanatics as they become visible.
