Democrats running for Congress in New York just couldn’t bring themselves to root for America when given the easiest possible question about the World Cup.
I mean, this is about as basic a question as there is when it comes to campaigning for a seat in the United States Congress, and yet the resistance party appears to have its brains hardwired to automatically take an America-last stance at every opportunity.
During a recent PIX11 forum in the heated NY-13 Democratic primary, Rep. Adriano Espaillat and challenger Darializa Chevalier were asked who they’re rooting for to win it all on the pitch.
They fumbled the answer. Hard core. They committed a "howler"

A new report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) found that the government cannot tell if it is handing taxpayer dollars to individuals on the “do not pay list,” Republican Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation Monday.
A draft of the report reviewed by the DCNF exposed that there is no way to cross-reference the USASpending.gov records detailing who receives government awards with who is on the “do not pay list.” Current law requires government expenditures to be listed on USASpending.gov so Americans can see who is receiving their taxpayer dollars, although there is currently no way of knowing whether the individuals receiving the funds

The FBI thwarted an explosive drone attack against Sunday’s UFC Freedom 250 event on the White House South Lawn and have already taken five suspects into custody, it was revealed Tuesday.
The multi-phase terror attack allegedly involved using explosive-laden drone aircraft to strike buildings in the vicinity of the event, sparking mass panic and driving the fleeing crowd toward a sniper team poised to pick them off, officials told Fox News Digital.
A “second wave” of attackers then allegedly planned to storm the White House gate, officials said. The bureau learned of the plot on June 10 and executed a search warrant in Cincinnati, where the first arrest was made.

former Oklahoma detention deputy is facing a potential life sentence and $250,000 fine for disregarding a pretrial detainee's medical needs, resulting in her ultimate death.
According to a Justice Department press release Monday, a federal jury convicted Paula Kelley on June 12 of violating Title 18, Section 242, which criminalizes anyone acting under color of law who willfully deprives someone of a right protected by the Constitution or U.S. laws. Kelley worked as a detention deputy at Garvin County Jail in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.
Kelley's deliberate indifference to pretrial detainee Kayla Turley's serious medical needs resulted in Turley's ultimate death.

A Richmond judge denied two motions against the Democrat Party of Virginia and Gov. Abigail Spanberger Monday in a defamation case, and the plaintiff told the Daily Signal that he plans to appeal the decisions.
“I will be appealing these decisions,” Thomas Speciale, a retired Army intelligence officer and a former Republican U.S. Senate candidate, told the Daily Signal outside the courtroom of the Richmond City Circuit Court.
Speciale sued the Democratic Party of Virginia for allegedly defaming him. The party issued a press release on Nov. 3, 2022, claiming that Speciale “attacked the U.S. Capitol” on Jan. 6, 2021, and suggesting that he “bloodied and beat law enforcement officers.” Speciale,

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08) does not do a great media job speaking for the Democrats, and he proved that again on Monday during an appearance on Good Day New York.Jeffries tried to buffalo the anchors and the audience by criticizing President Donald Trump over "skyrocketing gas prices."This claim from Jeffries has two problems. First, oil prices have already been coming down because of the peace negotiations with Iran. Second, now that a deal is being signed, the prices are likely to drop even more, as shipping returns to normal.

The House Oversight Committee announced Friday that it would investigate a nonprofit linked to an anti-Trump activist for possible violations of tax laws.
House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., announced that his committee would be investigating former Ambassador Norm Eisen’s nonprofit, State Democracy Defenders Fund (SDDF), for possibly using donor funds for private financial interests.
Comer said that “The Fund’s most recently available IRS Form 990EZ describes the organization’s primary tax-exempt purpose in three parts: 1) going against ‘democracy deniers’ who break the law; 2) defending free and fair elections; and 3) shaping long-term strategy to ‘defeat autocracy.’

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) made a series of sensational claims on Monday, accusing President Donald Trump‘s Department of Justice (DOJ) of personally targeting both him and his wife for no good reason. But according to a Trump administration official, the investigation involving the corrupt governor and his wife began under the Biden-Harris administration.Newsom’s government is under a new investigation federal authorities launched into election fraud in California after evidence of bribery and ballot harvesting, along with stunning changes in state and city election results a week into “counting.” But when the Democrat governor griped on Monday about federal investigation into him and “First Partner” Jennifer Siebel Newsom,

As I wrote last week, public schools are depopulating on a large scale for a variety of reasons, including a declining birth rate, the fact that many of them don’t offer a worthy product, the advancement of school choice, and others. Colleges are faring even worse for many of the same reasons. In January, Arthur Levine, president of Brandeis University, asserted that 20 percent to 25 percent of colleges will close in the coming years.
Similarly, the Hechinger Report projects that 442 of the nation’s 1,700 private, nonprofit four-year colleges and universities, representing 670,000 students, are at risk of closing or merging over the next 10 years.

In our enlightened age the public seems tirelessly bombarded with warnings of existential threat from infectious disease. Another distant outbreak is spreading, this time it could be Disease X! ‘And there is no vaccine!’ How, one might ask, is our species still extant?
A few decades ago, life was less torn by impending doom. Public health officials were investigating diarrhoea outbreaks linked to the local café. The Woodstock festival of 1969 happened during the last large influenza pandemic, and no one really noticed let alone wore a mask. They just listened to the music, lived as their ancestors had, and somehow managed to expand the species.

Massachusetts is the place where the American Revolution kicked off, and all because the British came to enforce gun control. Today, most in the state seem more likely to have helped the Redcoats than their fellow Americans, as the one-time colony that birthed much of the revolutionary fervor that eventually gave us the Second Amendment is now more likely to stomp on people's rights.
But not everyone in the state feels that way. There's a pro-gun movement there, and they managed to get some items on the ballot in November that, if successful, would serve as a massive blow to the anti-gun Democrats who run the state.

A huge immigration law firm with thousands of migrant clients is shutting down amid a lawsuit, allegations of fraudulent practices, and claims that it taught its tactics to other law firms around the nation. (snip)
The firm has made millions handling visa cases it claims fall under the Violence Against Women Act, U visas for crime victims, and T visas for victims of human trafficking. But now allegations have been made that Lozano and her offices engaged in fraudulent practices in many of these cases by fabricating or exaggerating abuse claims, filing for benefits that clients didn’t qualify for, and asking clients to sign blank documents
