For years, Judge Eleanor Ross’s secret was passed down from law clerk to law clerk.
They whispered about the sultry jazz music that emanated from her chambers when a uniformed police commander, a man they called her “visitor,” disappeared into her private office. The clerks could sometimes hear the unmistakable sounds of sex from behind the door.
They chalked it up as one of the burdens of working for Judge Ross, who routinely rubber stamped their draft orders and added little else before issuing them as rulings. But the clerks in the Atlanta courthouse felt helpless:

Five FBI employees tied to the bureau’s 2023 “Radical Traditionalist Catholics” memo were fired Friday, according to multiple reports. The four intelligence analysts and one supervisory analyst involved in drafting and approving the document had faced no discipline since the memo became public more than three years ago. (snip) The Richmond Field Office produced the memo in January 2023. It examined what it described as a possible connection between “Radical Traditionalist Catholic” ideology and racially and ethnically motivated violent extremists, and discussed potential “tripwire and source development” opportunities within Catholic communities.

A Danish man spent years building a clothing company. Over the years, he fashioned, through hard work, careful study, trial and error, attention to trends, and sheer perseverance, a popular clothing brand. In the last few days, however, he has come to the brink of ruin, and of seeing all his labors come to naught. (snip) A Linkedin user asked on the platform what you would remove from Earth that would make it better if you could only choose one thing. (snip) To the question of what he would remove from the Earth in order to make it a better place, Tobia Sloth answered: “Islam.”

Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner claimed that he has been able to "make a living on the sea" since leaving the armed forces during a Friday rally, an assertion his financial disclosures don’t appear to support. Platner, who is running for Senate in Maine to unseat incumbent GOP Sen. Susan Collins, has long identified himself as an oyster farmer and harbor master, giving a blue-collar tinge to his left-wing campaign. Financial disclosures, however, show that he brings in relatively little money from oyster farming, with reports suggesting that Platner receives the majority of his income through veteran’s disability payments.

Lawyers representing accused murderer Karmelo Anthony rested their case Monday, after their 19-year-old client declined to take the stand in his own defense. (snip) In one specific case, a witness called by the defense contradicted Anthony’s self-defense claim by saying, “I think Karmelo was in the wrong.”
Prosecutors then asked, “Did Karmelo Anthony provoke the confrontation?”
The defense witness responded, “Yes.” That’s just one example of a defense case that appears to have gone off the rails.

“It’s clear the fix is in.” Those words from Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.). came with her vote against confirming Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Warren was outraged that her fellow senators refused to believe a woman who came forward with a decades-old allegation against Kavanaugh that lacked any corroboration.
It now appears that Kavanaugh’s former accusers are making the case that he was treated unjustly at their hands. At least they are now willing to swap “Me Too” for Maine.
Warren’s words were part of a mantra from Democratic members that either you believe women about sexual harassment and assault, or you are enabling abusers.

A Catholic priest who spent nearly two decades casting out demons in the nation’s capital lost his post this week after he told followers that UFOs might be the devil in disguise.
Cardinal Robert McElroy stripped Monsignor Stephen Rossetti of his role as an exorcist for the Archdiocese of Washington on June 3, the archdiocese announced. It also severed every tie with Rossetti’s St. Michael Center for Spiritual Renewal, a Washington nonprofit he led. Rossetti is a priest of the Diocese of Syracuse, New York. He had held the exorcist post for 19 years, EWTN reported.

Reverend Franklin Graham excoriated Democrat Texas U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico’s claim that the “Bible is silent on abortion,” calling the statement an “absolute lie.” (snip) “The Word of God tells us we are created in the image of God and consistently underscores the value of human life. Jeremiah 1:5 says, ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…’ In 2021, this same Democratic candidate opposed a bill to ban men from women’s sports, saying that ‘God is non-binary.’ Don’t be deceived by wicked politicians spouting lies like this,” he continued.
