Inside the firm, staff describe rock‑bottom morale, intrusive AI tracking and deep scepticism that the Meta layoffs are really over. Meta’s latest round of layoffs hit staff across the world on Wednesday, with around 8,000 employees told they were losing their jobs in a restructuring that Mark Zuckerberg has tied directly to the company’s huge artificial intelligence spending. In an email sent to roughly 78,000 inboxes, the chief executive promised there would be no further company‑wide Meta layoffs this year and, in a rare admission, accepted that leadership had handled the run‑up badly.

I was going to say something cynical like, "Learn to code," but AI is also poised to take over and completely dominate that occupation.

Flustered and frightened, Britney Spears picked up the phone while police questioned her on the side of the road during her arrest for DUI. But instead of dialing the number for a family member or her longtime friend and manager, the pop star turned to a man perhaps the public is not yet familiar with. ‘Thomas?’ Spears could be heard saying to the individual, per the dashcam video from March 4, obtained by the Daily Mail. Quietly speaking into her cell phone, she then mumbled to the person that the Los Angeles cops were accusing her of consuming alcohol, which she denied.

Global inflation pressures are showing signs of easing as major central banks signal a shift toward interest rate cuts in the coming months. economists now say that after years of aggressive monetary tightening, the worst may finally be behind consumers and businesses alike. the federal reserve, the european central bank, and the bank of england have all hinted at a more accommodative stance heading into the second half of the year. analysts caution, however, that any cuts will be gradual and data-dependent, with policymakers keeping a close eye on labor markets and energy prices before making any firm commitments.

Although she has said she has not made a decision on the matter, Ocasio-Cortez has been on a national tour rallying voters and making endorsements in several races, the outlet said. The Axios article detailed some of her recent movements and plans: Addressed the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta with Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock. I’m totally in favor of trans athletes in high school,” Steyer said. “I think when you understand the vulnerability, the stress, the danger of being a trans kid, and you understand that almost half of them try to commit suicide,” he said,

In an incident that belongs in Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, a dog managed to fire a gun and hit a woman while it was inside a vehicle last week in Nebraska. As KNOP reported, Scottsbluff police officers were called to Short Stop at 2002 Avenue I in the city after receiving a report that a person had been shot by a BB gun at 12:07 p.m. They were later informed while driving to the gas station and convenience store that the incident involved a shotgun. When the police arrived, they were confronted with a shocking truth: the culprit responsible for the shooting incident was not human. Rather, it was man’s best friend.

A special committee for the Eleventh Circuit on Friday found the judge, who isn’t named, "demonstrated a gross lack of judgment." Clerks could overhear the intercourse taking place, which was "extremely uncomfortable and troubling" for them, according to Bloomberg Law. The affair exposed the judge to risks of extortion since his or her spouse wasn't aware of the affair.

For many years the Soviet Union, and then Russia, financed the environmental movement in the United States. Their purpose was to suppress American production of oil and gas, and they succeeded to a considerable degree, to their own great benefit. Today, we are in the midst of another kind of race with Communist China–the race to develop superior systems of artificial intelligence. The Chinese Communist Party knows that if it wins this race, it will contribute greatly to its dreams of world domination, while if it loses, China, with its rapidly shrinking population, could be on the way to the garbage dump of history. So the stakes are enormous.

President Trump’s surprise endorsement catapulted Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to a landslide victory in Tuesday’s Republican Senate primary runoff election. As has been the case throughout the 2026 midterm primary season, Trump’s stamp of approval remains critical for GOP candidates in local and statewide elections. Here are four takeaways from the contests in the Lone Star State. After coming in second place in the preliminary March 3 primary, Paxton was propelled by the president’s endorsement — defeating incumbent Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) by a stunning 27-point margin (63.8% to 36.2%) in the runoff.

The time for Gavin Newsom honoring himself isn’t over yet. California’s governor wants taxpayers to spend $33,000 on an official portrait of him, even as Democratic lawmakers fume over Newsom’s “absurd” $20 million proposal to honor the state’s living former governors — an exclusive club of which he’ll soon be a member. Funding for the proposed painting is included in Newsom’s proposed 2026-27 budget under “Governor’s Portrait,” which says the money would pay for the “traditional painting of the Governor’s portrait” to be displayed in the State Capitol alongside portraits of every other California governor. The $33,000 would come from the state’s General Fund at a time when

For years, Democrats and their allies in the media swore Joe Biden was sharp as a tack, fully capable, and absolutely fine. Then came the June 2024 debate, and that story collapsed in real time before millions of viewers. The fallout was so bad that Biden's own party forced him off the ticket. He dropped out, spent the rest of his term below the radar, and has spent his post-presidency trying to rehabilitate his image. Now, that effort has taken a new and telling turn. Biden filed a lawsuit Tuesday in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia seeking to block the Justice Department from releasing roughly
