It is no secret that RFK Jr., Secretary of Health and Human Services, doesn’t like psychiatrists, and he has had good reason, based upon his personal life experiences. For example, his aunt, Rosemary Kennedy, was treated with a prefrontal lobotomy at age 23 in 1941, a dark chapter in the history of psychiatry that left her institutionalized for life. He credits his own recovery from addiction to abstinence-based 12-step programs, focusing on spiritual principles and peer support, rather than on psychiatrists or medication.
So, it is no surprise that he is drawn to curtailing psychiatrists’ powers. And he has begun to do

Democrats have a real problem on their hands in Texas.
We reported on some of the wild things said by the top Democratic candidate in TX-35, Maureen Galindo. This is just a small sample.
In an Instagram post last week, Galindo wrote that she will "turn Karnes ICE Detention Center into a prison for American Zionists and former ICE officers for human trafficking. (It will also be a castration processing center for pedophiles which will probably be most of the Zionists)."
Galindo came in first in the primary, but without enough votes to avoid a runoff, which is next week against the Democrat who came in second, Johnny Garcia.

The pressure applied over the last three months has produced more coercive leverage over the Islamic Republic than at any point in its 47-year history. The US naval blockade is costing the regime an estimated $450 million a day.
Iran’s nuclear infrastructure has been severely degraded. Its air defenses are in ruins. Its ballistic-missile program has collapsed from production of 100 missiles a month to zero.
Increasingly desperate and eager to take advantage of the cease-fire, Tehran is moving fast to reopen one artery Washington has not yet closed: the sky.

President Donald Trump swore in his pick to chair the Federal Reserve, Kevin Warsh, on Friday, saying he wants him to be independent in the role.
“I want Kevin to be totally independent,” Trump said. “I want him to be independent and just do a great job. Don’t look at me, don’t look at anybody, just do your own thing and do a great job.”
Trump said Warsh will restore respect to the Fed. Trump repeatedly criticized Warsh’s successor, Jerome Powell, for failing to cut interest rates.

Israel established a secret elite intelligence task force in the aftermath of Hamas’s October 7, 2023, massacre to track down and kill or capture every terrorist involved in the attack — from senior commanders who orchestrated the assault to individual gunmen who crossed into southern Israel during the deadliest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. According to a detailed Wall Street Journal report published Wednesday, the unit — known as NILI, a Hebrew acronym derived from a biblical verse meaning “The Eternal One of Israel Does Not Lie” — was formed by Israel’s Shin Bet internal security service and military intelligence shortly after the Hamas-

The government of Saudi Arabia reassured visitors on Friday that it is prepared to screen for and otherwise address any public health threats during the upcoming Hajj season, responding to growing international concern about the spread of Ebola and hantavirus.
The hajj is the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, the holiest city in the religion, which Muslims are mandated to make, if possible, once in their lifetimes. Saudi Arabia typically welcomes upwards of one million Muslims to the city for the hajj on an annual basis, most coming from all over the world, including countries hostile to Saudi Arabia such as Iran.

Reports last week confirmed that former special counsel Jack Smith “secretly arranged” to preserve evidence in his criminal cases against President Trump in order to maintain the threat of future prosecution once the president leaves office. This is not a big surprise. Democrats have thrown every civic norm out the window in their ruthless efforts to target Trump’s businesses and send him to prison for life.
In his quest to imprison an American president, Jack Smith accused Trump of engaging in a conspiracy to “overthrow” the 2020 election, as well as retaining possession of classified documents after leaving the White House. Both allegations are ridiculous,

If that sounds to you like Alberta Premier Danielle Smith jinked when she should have jived, yeah.
It sounds like that to a lot of people.
As you know, if you've read any of my posts over the past year, the question of a referendum being on the Alberta ballot to begin the process of a formal separation from the Canadian confederation has been a long, twisty process. At the moment, the petition to get the independence question on the ballot has been declared pretty much moot thanks to a victory in a lawsuit by the First Nations tribes. They had sued, asserting that the petition drive was unconstitutional to

Democrats think they have the GOP on the run for this year’s midterms courtesy of their Iranian allies, but a problem looms: they need a presidential candidate for 2028. It has been a while since the Democrats have fielded a strong presidential nominee. Joe Biden was pedestrian at best in 2020, and Kamala Harris was awful in 2024. Surely they can do better in 2028. Right?
Perhaps not. Rasmussen reports that Harris is still the front runner, by a wide margin:
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that, if the 2028 primary were held today, 34% of Likely Democratic Primary Voters would vote for Harris….

As I wrote last week ...
Democrats: Racist Republicans want to replace black legislators with whites! It's the new Jim Crow!
Also Democrats: Vote for Debbie Wasserman Schultz in Florida's remaining majority-minority district!
Even at that time, though, it seemed difficult to believe that Democrat leadership would act this shamelessly. After Democrats went all-in on redistricting in Virginia (and lost), they claimed that the Supreme Court ruling in Callais amounted to "Jim Crow 2.0," or maybe 3.0, or possibly even World War Eleven. Republicans would use the ruling, as well as their own redistricting, to steal congressional seats from black Democrats, they claimed.
So when Debbie Wasserman Schultz – a former DNC

It's no longer in the public consciousness, but domestic terrorism was very much a thing in the United States and Europe during the 1960s and 1970s.
There is no one hard count, but in those two decades, about 20,000 bombings happened in the United States, with actual revolutionary groups trying to overthrow the United States government.
They failed, of course. But domestic terrorism was very much a thing, and a significant fraction of our cultural elite were at least somewhat supportive. That's one of the reasons the working class started moving rightward, alongside crime, cultural, and economic issues.
The radicalization of the left in recent years has already inspired

Warsh took the oath of office from Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in the East Room after President Donald Trump delivered remarks, in which he predicted Warsh “will go down as one of the truly great chairmen of the Federal Reserve that we’ve ever had.”
Warsh was honored to receive the oath from Thomas. He called Thomas “a brilliant and independent thinker, a man dedicated to our Constitution, and no less important, a joyful and collegial presence on our highest court.”
The newly minted Fed chair noted his relationship with former chairman Alan Greenspan, whom President Ronald Reagan appointed to the role in 1987.

The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a resolution outlining the locations of drop boxes for the upcoming early-voting period without consulting Recorder Justin Heap.
The board approved the resolution while it continues to deal with an ongoing lawsuit with Heap about who runs specific election functions.
In April, a judge ruled in favor of Heap, saying the board members need to hand over control of specific election functions to his office.
The board sought a stay of the motion, but the Arizona Superior Court denied it. The board then announced it was appealing the lower court’s decision.

This month, Clarence Thomas became the second-longest-serving justice in Supreme Court history.
That milestone would be notable for any jurist.
For Thomas, it marks something more: the vindication of a constitutional vision that, for decades, was caricatured as eccentric, angry or unserious — until the court, and the country, began catching up.
The occasion comes just as Thomas has again demonstrated why his tenure matters.
In this session’s Louisiana v. Callais, the court held that Louisiana’s race-driven congressional map could not be justified by a misconstrued Voting Rights Act.

The figurehead “president” of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, predicted a “bloodbath of incalculable consequences” in the event that America defend itself from a Cuban military attack on Monday, responding to a report claiming the Communist Party is quieting amassing drones to attack Florida. The claim surfaced on the Washington, DC, website Axios, which cited “classified intelligence” by claim that Cuba currently possesses over 300 military drones and is considering bombing Florida. The report blamed Russia and Iran for supplying the technology necessary to make the threat real and claimed that the Castro regime is concerned about the administration of President Donald Trump taking military action against the 67-year-old regime.

Trump on May 19 endorsed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in the primary runoff between him and Cornyn, saying in a post on Truth Social, “Ken is a true MAGA Warrior who has ALWAYS delivered for Texas, and will continue to do so in the United States Senate.”

As RedState’s Ward Clark reported earlier in May, an Iraqi militia commander, part of an Iranian-backed terrorist group called the Kataib Hezbollah, was arrested in Turkey and was shipped to the U.S. to face charges of plotting numerous terrorist attacks, mostly against Jewish targets.
On Friday, The New York Post brought more disturbing details about the militant, 32-year-old Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood al-Saadi, and his diabolical quest to kill the president’s eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump: He’s allegedly one evil individual:

Department prosecutor Carmen Mercedes Lineberger has been indicted for allegedly removing confidential Justice Department material and then concealing her efforts. Lineberger is accused of secretly transferring Jack Smith’s final report and hiding the material under files labeled “chocolate cake recipe” and “bundt cake recipe.” There has not been a greater recipe for disaster since aides tried to fit all of Biden’s candles on a cake.
