Former Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax shot and killed his wife Cerina Fairfax before turning the gun on himself in their Annandale home, police say Thursday.
Officers responded to the 8100 block of Guinevere Drive shortly after midnight. When they arrived, police found a man and a woman dead inside the Annandale home.
“Former Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax, shot and killed his wife inside of their home and then shot and killed himself,” Fairfax Police Chief Kevin Davis told reporters at a briefing.
According to Davis, Fairfax shot his wife several times in the basement in the home, killing her. He then ran upstairs to the primary bedroom and killed himself

There’s a MeToo reckoning happening on the Hill, and it’s going to shake up both parties, honestly. For now, Democrats are left taking it on the chin as former Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) steps back from public life in disgrace. The California liberal, who was leading in California’s gubernatorial race, saw his career destroyed in less than 72 hours after multiple sexual misconduct and rape allegations derailed his campaign. He withdrew from the governor’s race and later resigned. His resignation came hours after another accuser claimed the former congressman had violently raped her in 2018. This follows a previous allegation by a former staffer in 2019.

We're not sure why CNN tapped David Hogg to appear on a program to discuss Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, but they did. Unfortunately for Hogg, Scott Jennings was also on the panel, and Jennings was ready to teach the Harvard graduate a thing or two about debate and foreign policy. (X) "Anybody with an elementary school understanding of foreign policy could have told you that the Strait of Hormuz was going to get shut down," Hogg said. "That is exactly what happened."
"And who controls it right now?" Jennings asked.
Instead of answering the question, Hogg deflected.
"Why are gas prices so high then?"
"Why were they high during Biden's administration?

If you want to get a feel for where the Democrats are without having to pay the New York Times, there's probably no better source than the Huffington Post — and HuffPo just slipped former Vice President Kamala Harris the shiv.
It didn't mess around, either. HuffPo's Kevin Robillard wrote the report, but whoever wrote the headline put the hit job well above the byline and in great big letters: Kamala Harris 2028? Democratic Operatives And Donors Hope Not.
Harris is like this drunk buddy of mine from way back when, and not because of the drunk part. Well, not entirely because of the drunk part.

Hippos typically live exclusively in the wetlands, lakes, and rivers of sub-Saharan Africa... unless an infamous drug lord imported them to South America in the early 1980s, was fatally shot about a decade later, and the ones he kept as pets escaped, adapted to the region, and created their own colony.
You may or may not recall that at the time Pablo Escobar was killed in 1993, he owned hundreds of exotic animals, including four hippopotamuses that he reportedly imported from a wildlife center in Texas, which were kept at his Hacienda Nápoles estate. After his death, the Colombian government deemed them impossible to seize, so they were just left there,

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — Kevin Cichowski, an aspiring Florida governor who declared his candidacy for the Democratic primary, faced domestic violence charges on Monday.
Cichowski, 46, a 2021 Palm Coast mayoral candidate, injured his 82-year-old father and his 76-year-old mother on Friday at their home in Palm Coast, according to a Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputy’s arrest report.Cichowski struck his father on the head with a firearm that he also pointed at his mouth, ear, and groin, while he “threatened to shoot and kill him,” according to the deputy’s arrest report.
His mother — who was bedridden — reported Chichowski snatched her cellphone and struck her in the head with it,

Happy Tuesday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. (Snip) Another day, another low-life, prevaricating California Democrat. Sadly, there will never be a shortage of them. There were already a lot of them when I first moved to Los Angeles in the '90s, but they started growing like weeds during the 21st century. The presidency of His High Holiness the Lightbringer Barack Obama worked like high-powered fertilizer for those weeds.
Before we get to the dirtbag who is our focus today, an update on the predatory pathological liar who has been dominating the news for the last several days is in order. This is from Catherine:

One of the extraordinary features of the first year of President Trump’s second term has been the attempted judicial coup by Democratic Party district court judges who have, in effect, tried to take over the operation of the Executive Branch. Rogue district judges have issued one ill-founded order after another, most of which have been reversed on appeal. Perhaps the worst offender has been James Boasberg, Chief Judge of the D.C. District Court.
Judge Boasberg has been trying to hold members of the Trump administration in criminal contempt for, allegedly, disobeying one of his illegal orders. The government made a mandamus motion in the D.C. Circuit

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- Another woman has come forward to accuse Congressman Eric Swalwell of sexual assault, giving a powerful and emotional account Tuesday morning.
At a press conference in Beverly Hills, Lonna Drewes told a harrowing story of allegedly being drugged, raped and choked by the soon-to-be former congressman in 2018. Swalwell, who pulled out of the governor's race and will resign his seat, is facing a mounting list of accusers and mounting legal trouble as well.
These details may be disturbing to read.
Drewes says she was a model and owned a fashion software company when she met Congressman Eric Swalwell in 2018.
She says they went out as friends several times

What is worse: murder or alleged racism? The New York Times knows. A headline in the paper’s April 11 print edition read: “Trump Posts Attack Video and Denigrates Haitians.” The online version of the article was only slightly more detailed: “Trump Shares Video of Graphic Attack and Rails Against Haitians.”
What was this “attack video” or, even more puzzlingly, this “graphic attack?” On April 3, a surveillance camera at a gas station convenience store in Fort Myers, Florida, filmed a burly man methodically bashing in the windows and hood of a parked car with a hammer. The audio captures the blows’ explosive force.

The Dems depantsed the repulsive Eric Swalwell over the weekend in an attack with something like the Pearl Harbor effect. It swiftly sunk Swalwell’s gubernatorial campaign. We followed the depantsing, but without quite the humorous detachment of Wall Street Journal Free Expression editor Matthew Hennessey. There are several interesting angles to the story and he inflicts glancing blows on most of them. He doesn’t expressly mention the apparent knowledge of members of the press about Swalwell’s way with women.
We knew about Fang Fang, okay, but we seem to have gone beyond an old-fashioned scandal into #MeToo territory. Now it’s getting serious. At the end of his column Hennessey

CBS committed a crucial triple-bogey-like error. There is nothing like watching Rory McIlroy win a back-to-back Masters for golf fans — that is, if you can actually see the winning shots. The broadcast failed to show McIlroy’s final four shots of the tournament as he claimed the first repeat green jacket since Tiger Woods in 2002. And CBS went on to hear it from golf fans. “CBS not being able to show the location of the final two approach shots of the masters is the cherry on top of an all-time horrible broadcast,” an X user posted.
“Very on brand for golf broadcasting that the cameraman lined up
