DUBAI - Iran will target economic and banking interests linked to the U.S. and Israel in the region, after an attack on an Iranian bank, a spokesperson for Tehran's Khatam al-Anbiya military command headquarters said on Wednesday.
An administrative building linked to Bank Sepah, one of the country's largest public banks and with historical links to the military, was hit overnight in Tehran, according to the semi-official Mehr news agency. "Following their failed campaign, the terrorist U.S. army and cruel Zionist regime (Israel) have targeted one of the country's banks," state media quoted Ebrahim Zolfaqari as saying.

Israeli drones carried out attacks on several Tehran neighborhoods on Wednesday evening, killing members of the security forces, Iran’s Fars news agency reports.
It’s the first time since the outbreak of the Middle East war on February 28 that drone attacks have been reported in the Iranian capital.
Fars says the drones flew over southern and northern districts of Tehran, adding that “several members of the security force and the (volunteer) Basij force stationed at checkpoints were martyred. An AFP journalist in the northern part of the city heard the loud noise of a drone flying over the area.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) denied Wednesday that he reversed his stance on the Senate filibuster rules to curry favor with President Trump amid speculation that he made the switch in order to win the president’s coveted endorsement in his competitive reelection primary.
“I’d say that’s not true,” Cornyn told an NBC News reporter when asked to respond to the notion.
Cornyn, who once likened Democratic attempts to scrap the filibuster as taking a “wrecking ball” to Senate rules, wrote in an op-ed published by the New York Post on Wednesday that he was now open to changing the rule to advance a Trump-backed nationwide voter ID bill.

If a man takes a swing at you and barely misses, that doesn’t make him a pacifist — it just means he has bad aim.
Standing still and giving him a second free swing wouldn’t be wise or honorable; it would be foolish.
In 2022, Chuck Schumer and 47 other Senate Democrats tried to change the rules of the US Senate and “nuke” the filibuster to ram through a left-wing takeover of election laws.
They were just barely stopped by two holdout Democrats who were promptly driven out of their party and into retirement.
In 2024, Schumer confirmed to reporters that Democrats mean to finish the job

Attorney General Pam Bondi has moved to a military base in Washington, D.C., after federal investigators flagged credible threats related to her work at the Justice Department, the New York Times reports. Former Starbucks owner and CEO Howard Schultz says he is leaving Seattle for Miami after 44 years in the java giant’s home state of Washington — as Dems there have been pushing for a so-called “millionaires’ tax.”
He has paid about $44 million for a 5,500-square-foot penthouse at the Surf Club, Four Seasons Private Residences in Surfside, Fla., the Wall Street Journal reported.
“For those of you who know us well, we have entered the ‘retirement’ phase of our lives,” Schultz wrote about himself and his wife Sheri Schultz in a late Tuesday LinkedIn post. “We are enjoying the sunshine

A top Iranian security official made a thinly veiled threat against Donald Trump’s life on Tuesday after the U.S. President warned of massive strikes against Iran if it blocked oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
"Iran doesn't fear your empty threats. Even those bigger than you couldn't eliminate Iran. Be careful not to get eliminated yourself,” Ali Larijani, the head of the Iranian National Security Council, posted on X.
The threat came in response to Trump’s post on TruthSocial that if Iran doesn’t allow oil shipment to resume in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. would hit Iran “twenty times harder” than they have been hit so far.

HBO host Bill Maher is taking aim at the New York Times for portraying Donald Trump’s actions in Iran as a “bad war.”
Maher brought up the subject on his recent Club Random podcast featuring neuroscientist Sam Harris. The show was recorded a few days after Trump launched his sorties against Iran’s radical, Islamist Mullahs, and during the segment Maher and Harris began to talk about the media’s portrayal of the military actions that had only just started.
“As we’re talking now, the Iran [war], the new Iran war, and The New York Times headline was, you know, ‘U.S. troops die’ – that was like what they led with.

War Secretary Pete Hegseth said Tuesday that Iran’s military power is “being systematically degraded and annihilated” as Operation Epic Fury entered its tenth day, declaring the campaign will end “on our timeline and at our choosing” while forcefully pushing back against suggestions it could devolve into another prolonged Middle East conflict.
Speaking during a Pentagon briefing alongside the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Caine, Hegseth outlined battlefield progress while stressing the military operation ordered by President Donald Trump remains tightly focused on specific objectives aimed at dismantling Iran’s ability to threaten the United States and its allies.

Tuesday on MS NOW’s “The Briefing,” Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said President Donald Trump would try to “seize ballot boxes’ to “subvert the vote” in the midterm elections.
Host Jen Psaki said, “The administration subpoenaed records from 2020 from Arizona. We know that’s not about changing the outcome of the 2020 election. We know that they’ve already gone through that. It’s obviously about 2026. What do you make of that and what’s your level of concern about it?”
Schiff said, “I think the subpoenas in Arizona, America, Maricopa County, the FBI raid in Georgia, this is all trying to establish some kind of phony predicate

The American energy sector is springing back into action with new exploration and extraction of natural gas well underway. But "drill, baby drill" isn't much good without "refine, baby, refine," as petroleum in particular has to be converted into something useful before its real value can be achieved: Gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, and all the the myriads of other materials we get from that black gold. The problem is, the United States hasn't seen a new petroleum refinery open in over 50 years - until now. President Trump and Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum spread the good news on Tuesday. The president, on Truth Social, writes:m

“Finish the job.” President Donald Trump revealed that as the message he received from the families of the American military heroes who died overseas during the ongoing joint operation with Israel against Iran’s terrorist and America-hating regime.
Seven U.S. troops have tragically died in Iranian regime counterstrikes since the beginning of Operation Epic Fury, and the president paid his respects to the remains of six of them last week at Dover. Subsequently, Trump also spoke to the press on Monday and emphasized that parents of the service members who gave the last full measure of devotion want the president to finish off the task that their loved ones offered
