Mojtaba Khamenei, born on September 8, 1969, in Mashhad, is the second son of Ali Khamenei, Iran's former supreme leader, who was killed in an Israeli strike on February 28. An 88-member Assembly of Experts named him the Islamic Republic's new supreme leader on March 8, just over a week into a fierce war with the US and Israel.
Mojtaba is often described as enigmatic and, at the same time, one of the most influential figures in Iran's power corridors. He is known to have kept close links with the powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which many believe calls the shots in the country.

Conservative icon and Hollywood legend James Woods has announced he’s ditching the Republican Party. Jesse Jackson Jr. took a not-so-subtle swipe at three former Democratic presidents who spoke at his father’s memorial service — Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden — saying they did not know the real Jesse Jackson.[snip] Jackson Jr. — who served as a Democratic representative from Illinois between 1995 and 2012 — made his remarks a day after the ex-presidents honored his father. Dangerous drug dens disguised as sleepy storefronts no longer plague the surrounding area of Los Angeles’ MacArthur Park after a series of gang-busting raids.
The Post had a front-row seat for “Operation Dead Horse” — designed to take down the 18th Street gang— as officers from the LAPD and FBI took some of the most dangerous criminals off the street, splitting their operations open from the inside out.
Officers targeted key street-level operations in some of the city’s most blighted areas, starting with MacArthur Park, in an operation Wednesday night. In a matter of seconds, officers secured three adjacent storefronts on

A leaked draft of the UK Government’s new ‘social cohesion’ strategy has sparked outrage by labeling the flying of English, Scottish, and Union Jack flags as potential “tools of hate.”
The document claims these national symbols were sometimes used last summer to “exclude or intimidate,” adding that the “extreme right has tried to turn symbols of pride into tools of hate.”
The 47-page draft, leaked to the Spectator magazine, also highlights how antisemitism has become “normalised in many corners of society” from schools and universities to workplaces and the NHS.

What used to be Islamic terrorism is now just typical protest tactics. Throwing bombs is just a sign you’re in a city run by a Muslim mayor and where Islamic riots, violence and terror have become routine.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch told reporters in a Saturday evening news conference that an anti-Islam protest was organized by people associated Jake Lang, a pardoned Jan. 6 rioter and far-right influencer, and was called “Stop the Islamic Takeover of New York City/Stop New York City Public Muslim Prayer.” Tisch said that shortly after 12:30 p.m., a counter-protester, identified as 18-year-old Emir Balat, lit and threw an ignited device toward the protesters.

Police said six people were placed into custody after a pair of “suspicious devices” were ignited Saturday during protests outside of Gracie Mansion, the official residence of the mayor of New York City. NBC New York’s Adam Harding reports.
The NYPD and FBI are investigating the improvised explosive device recovered from outside Gracie Mansion during Saturday's protests as a potential act of terrorism in part because one of the two suspects in custody directly reference ISIS in statements to law enforcement, multiple people familiar with the matter said.
The device was one of two ignited during dueling protests outside of the official residence of Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Manhattan's Upper East

CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA (AP) — Across the country, progressives are lighting a fire that they hope will catapult Democrats back to power in Congress this year. But here in a hotel ballroom, the party’s beleaguered moderates have another message — not so fast.
Leaders at Third Way’s conference talked over and over about how Democrats can’t swing too far left in the midterms, or when picking their next presidential nominee, if they have any hope of winning back the White House.
The title of the two-day, invite-only conference: “Winning the Middle.” And there was plenty of advice on how to do that. Be plainspoken, not lofty or academic. Don’t live online, but

President Donald Trump is weighing options that could include deploying special operations forces into Iran to secure or destroy highly enriched uranium stockpiles as part of his pledge that Tehran “will not have a nuclear bomb,” according to multiple reports Saturday.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump suggested the possibility of a ground operation had not been ruled out, saying U.S. forces could move in at a later stage of the conflict if necessary. “Right now we’re just decimating them, but we haven’t gone after it,” Trump said, referring to Iran’s nuclear material. “But something we could do later on. We wouldn’t do it now.”

In an Instagram video, a Persian protester goes out on the streets of Los Angeles to shout his praise for the U.S. government for killing Ayatollah Khamenei and bringing hope of liberation to the people of Iran. He holds the original Persian flag, the Lion and Sun, which has become the symbol of the anti-regime movement. The “Hands Off” protesters are waving the Islamic Republic’s flag, which bears Arabic rather than Persian writing.

A panel of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals scorched a Canadian-born, Obama-appointed judge for her heavy-handed and illegal imposition of operating procedures on all federal officers operating in Illinois. The majority opinion said the order imposed by Judge Sara Ellis, "impermissibly infringes on separation of powers principles. It effectively established the district court as the supervisor of all Executive Branch activity in the city of Chicago." It also hinted that her legal maneuvering was calculated to appear to dismiss an unconstitutional order while preserving the ability of future litigants to breathe new life into the suit.

It’s not really surprising. The trend of funerals turning into political rallies and platforms for lecturing those with whom they disagree started with Paul Wellstone's funeral, which was also a rally. So, when the memorial service for the late Reverend Jesse Jackson was held this week with Barack Obama, Joe Biden, the Clintons, and Kamala Harris in attendance, it was no surprise that it turned into a spectacle. It also serves as a reminder of why Donald J. Trump was elected in 2024. [Tweet]

In Connecticut court papers obtained by Page Six, Elliott filed to end his marriage to the ABC anchor on June 20, 2025.
“The marriage of the parties has broken down irretrievably,” the court papers read, as Elliott is asking for a “dissolution of the marriage” and for “an equitable distribution of all property, both real and personal.”

In deep-red Texas, the Democrats have chosen a Senate candidate whose Christian faith the party hopes will be a potent weapon, but whose unorthodox views range from God is nonbinary to there are six sexes.
“God is both masculine and feminine and everything in between,” said James Talarico, a state representative and, now, the Democratic nominee for Senate. “God is nonbinary.”
Progressive Christianity may be a hard sell
The statement is part of dozens of claims about God, Christianity, and morality that Talarico has made on the campaign trail, and before he ran for higher office, geared towards “[reclaiming] Christianity for the left.”

Findings from a Fox News poll released Friday indicate that a historic high of 38% of registered voters now consider it positive for the country to shift from capitalism toward socialism, marking an increase from 32% in 2022 and 18% in 2010.
The shifting sentiment towards socialism may not necessarily reflect fuzzy feelings for its ideals, but rather a lack of understanding of what those ideals are, according to professor of political science, Nicholas Giordano. “Sometimes the simplest explanation is the best explanation. People are gravitating toward socialism because they've never really been taught what socialism is," Giordano told Just The News.

Two Muslims tried to blow up protestors and police in New York City using improvised incendiary devices, and the report online is that they shouted “Allahu Akbar.”
You can watch a clip purportedly of the failed terrorist attack below. It is difficult to hear clearly what the attempted jihadi yells as he hurls the smoking device — he certainly shouts something — but you can hear a man who seems to be the individual filming the clip saying afterwards that it sounded like “Allahu Akbar” to him.
