The CNN's version of the story, by Natasha Bertrand: "US military carried out second strike killing survivors on a suspected drug boat that had already been attacked, sources say." "The US military carried out a follow-up strike on a suspected drug vessel operating in the Caribbean on September 2 after an initial strike did not kill everyone on board, sources familiar with the matter told CNN. The September strike was the first in what became a regular series of atttacks on drug boats."

Comments:

If an allied pilot had bombed a Nazi freight train headed for Auschwitz with a load of Zyklon B gas would he have been prosecuted for a war crime? What if he had returned to bomb it a second time to assure that the target was fully destroyed?

A drug-carrying 'submersible' which was recently targeted and destroyed did have survivors which the US rescued and delivered to a Central American nation willing to accept them - for imprisonment. But of course that doesn't fit the MSM/leftist 'narrative' hell-bent to undermine Trump.

I am amazed that anyone would even get on one of those boats and point it to the north. We have been on target and blown up many boats, many drug runners. Unless they are sampling what it on board so they are not quite right in the head at that moment.

If the vessel isn't sunk, its still a target. Ask the Japanese. Also, a vessel can't surrender to an incoming missile or aircraft. That aside..... if the media is reporting it from anonymous sources, its almost sure to be a lie.

The US government lost track of over three hundred thousand unaccompanied minors who crossed our border illegally. Tom Homan has recovered over one hundred thousand of these victims and proven that many of them were sex trafficked. That's more than two. And they were children, and they were innocent. Not a peep from leftist media or any democrat Senator. Pete Hegseth is supposed to answer for the fact that he killed two drug runners. That's less that one hundred thousand.

The idea that a crime was committed because the drug runners were hit a second time is stupid. Some people have tried to liken it to shooting at parachuting pilots when their plane was shot down. Apples and oranges. A parachuting pilot was no longer in the machine that can kill the enemy. He was helpless and therefore it was immoral to shoot him. The whole point of shooting at drug runners is to kill the occupants and destroy the payload. If you can't shoot at them when they're in the water then you can't shoot at them when they're in their boat. We've already made that determination that we can so there's nothing to say we have to get everything done with the first strike. Do-overs needed to complete the job are allowed. Otherwise we're just going to have to use bigger bombs to hit them with so a second pass is never needed.

Acting New Jersey Attorney Alina Habba is disqualified after the Trump administration violated federal law to keep her in post, a federal appeals court ruled Monday. The three-judge panel unanimously upheld a lower court's disqualification order that found Habba's appointment was non-compliant with a 1998 law governing federal vacancies. "It is apparent that the current administration has been frustrated by some of the legal and political barriers to getting its appointees in place," senior US Circuit Judge Michael D. Fisher wrote in a 32-page ruling.

The retirement of longtime Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, a Democrat, has the potential to shake up the relationship between the Trump administration and the nation's capital city. Under President Donald Trump, Washington has become ground zero for the administration's efforts to boost immigration enforcement and reduce urban crime. The mayor's office, despite trading rhetorical barbs with the president, has been remarkably cooperative . . . But the battle to replace Bowser could pit business-friendly centrists against progressive Democrats, creating uncertainty in the White House about what kind of leadership it will contend with when the dust settles.
