We hear that there is a lot of conflict on the other side. Some call it generational, or reminiscent of “Wild in the Streets”, or that movie about not trusting anyone over 30. Others say it’s ideological, or a desperate battle between center-left Democrats and the crazy left. I am not sure what to call it, but they sure are angry over there. Well, we saw the first battle over the shutdown, and now get ready for the next episode over free buses. The New York City mayor-elect promised free buses, and the governor of New York responded with “we can’t afford it.”

Why should bus transportation be free? It costs hundreds of millions of dollars to operate those buses. And the fares are already cheap compared to ride sharing, taxis, etc...

I suspect the 'Free Busses' ploy was done to re-home the illegals from NYC's hotels. Like a motor home: see your new city!

We now have free buss service in Albuquerque, NM and the homeless use the busses as shelters on wheels. Used to be $2 for an all day pass and $30 for a monthly pass. If you can't afford that then walk.

#4 is spot on. The homeless and violent will start riding the bus if only for some respite from the oncoming cold weather. The violent ones will be there also and looking for victims and there won't be anyone to help them this time. People remember what happened to Daniel Perry when he simply tried to protect the passengers. NYC residents will try to avoid the onetime safe (more or less) mass transit if they can even if the fares are free. Most will not have an alternative and be forced to put up with the harassment and danger. The smell, danger and filth. They remember the woman burned alive by an illegal alien but many don't have any alternative. Armed guards will have to ride and roam the cars just to try to keep the riders from being robbed or attacked. That costs money...money the city won't have and can't afford. Add in the payroll, maintenance and the "free" rides will cost millions to even halfway keep the buses running and somewhat safer. The passengers will have to carry firearms. Oh, wait. only the connected are allowed to have guns to protect themselves in the city's mass transit system. Only the wealthy can afford a body guard to travel with them and they don't ride the subway anyway. I can also see shows like The View and others move to better locations. With the internet. many shows can be operated remotely now and will move the crew and talent elsewhere. The ones that stay have limos to commute to and from the studios and live in nicer areas. If you make millions, you can afford personal security but that's out of reach for the poor and average middle class workers. It's going to be a disaster and the only real help will be to reinstate fares and I can only imagine the screaming that would bring from the left. I saw NYC as a teen and it was a vibrant exciting experience. It will certainly be exciting to visit now. Apologies for the long rant but this had me bemoaning the fate of a one-time great city.

Proof that he is clueless about the job he was running for. Governor is in charge of the MTA. He can't deliver on freezing the rent either - not his job. Could it be that this privileged child does not have any real world experience when he has only had a job for 3 years of his adult life, until he found out he could feed at the trough as an assemblyman? The Democrats misunderstood just how hated Killer Cuomo is. Sliwa expelled from HS was never a serious not viable candidate. Ask any of his 3 ex-wives, or his baby mama.

Take the money being wasted on homeless and illegals and give the hard working lower income people that actually need to ride the busses vouchers or accounts so they can get to work etc. Making it free will just gives the free loaders a place to go to the bathroom instead outside in the cold.

Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki got spooked and walked back her statement calling President Trump a predator amid the Democrats’ Epstein email hoax. On Wednesday morning, the Democrats’ Committee on Oversight released a “tranche of correspondence” from the Epstein Estate, claiming to “strike a blow against the White House’s Epstein cover-up.” The three unrelated emails range in dates from 2011 through 2019. The selectively leaked emails suggested President Trump spent ‘hours’ with an Epstein trafficking victim.

Between 1892 and 1954, approximately 12 million immigrants arrived at the now-iconic Ellis Island to enter the U.S.—or nearly 200,000 legal entries per year. All were registered, documented, and given rudimentary health exams. They arrived as rich and poor, white and non-white, and, without exception, legally. With the gradual decline of such great influxes, Ellis Island finally ceased operating roughly 71 years ago. Yet Ellis Island’s successful tenure offers a sharp contrast to the failures of our recent open-border catastrophes. Americans will never know how many immigrants swarmed the southern border between 2021 and 2025,

US President Donald J. Trump announced the latest addition to his remarkable Abraham Accords last week: China's and Russia's neighbor, Kazakhstan. One hopes that at some point, Azerbaijan, too, might join the Abraham Accords. Although Azerbaijan has enjoyed close relations with Turkey, relations between Turkey and Israel have now reached an all-time low. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan – after accusing Israel of genocide and crimes against humanity, and issuing arrest warrants for 37 Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu -- reportedly took Trump's assurance of a Turkish role in the future of Gaza, without consulting Israel, as a green light to assemble 2,000 special forces troops to occupy Gaza.

Our long national nightmare is over, but the Democratic psychodrama isn’t. The longest shutdown in US history — with increasing pain points across the country, whether among travelers or SNAP recipients — is ending, while the Democratic recriminations are just getting started. “It’s complete BS,” was a relatively mild take on the deal from one congressional progressive. As a rule of thumb, government shutdowns are bootless exercises. They rarely work because the party that causes the shutdown, thinking that it will provide leverage, invariably gets blamed for the shutdown and then — surprise! — ends up in a worse position than where it began.

Across three-fifths of the United States, the Trump administration has found half a million people receiving SNAP benefits twice over and 5,000 dead people receiving them. In deep blue states, the fraud is probably much worse. It is important to clarify that 20+ states out of the 50 did not comply with the federal government's request for information on SNAP beneficiaries, likely because they are trying to hide how many illegal aliens are illicitly receiving food stamps. So the horrifying numbers revealed by U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins on Laura Ingraham's Fox News show, The Ingraham Angle, are actually incomplete, and will probably be much higher

Democrats thought they had a winning hand when they released three carefully selected Jeffrey Epstein emails on Wednesday morning. The timing was no accident. With their caucus still reeling from their base turning on them for caving on the government shutdown, they needed a distraction, and they believed these emails would deliver one. They were wrong. The so-called bombshell consisted of three email exchanges. The crown jewel of their selective leak was a 2011 email between Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell in which Epstein described Trump as "the dog that hasn't barked." He noted that a victim had spent hours with Trump at Epstein’s house.
