Trump Keeps Crushing the Pharma Special Interests

When President Trump convinced AstraZeneca (on October 10) and Pfizer (on September 30) to lower their Medicare and Medicaid prices to match those charged in other countries, it was a major victory for American consumers. For decades, Americans have paid the highest prescription drug prices in the world, effectively subsidizing other nations’ cheaper costs. Trump finally forced Big Pharma to play fair. Even billionaire Mark Cuban had to admit it was a win. “Look at the Pfizer stock price,” he told The Washington Reporter. “It went up. This can be a positive for sure.” But in the very next breath,

California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom will have monitors monitoring the monitors following the announcement from the Department of Justice that they will be in the state to make sure all is on the up and up for the Newsom-orchestrated special election on November 4th. CA Attorney General Rob Bonta has accused President Donald Trump of having monitors in the state in order to "sow seeds of doubt" about the integrity of the special election on Prop 50, which centers around voters determining whether the so-called temporary removal of the independent redistricting commission is okay to do.
ObamaCare sticker shock begins as open

Congress is barreling toward a critical deadline for extending the enhanced ObamaCare subsidies at the heart of the government shutdown, and it may already be too late to shield the public from sticker shock with open-enrollment window shopping underway. If somehow there is a deal done ahead of Nov.1, which looks unlikely, states and the federal government may still have time to incorporate the enhanced subsidies into their prices. But Republicans have made it clear that there will need to be changes to the tax credits before they even entertain an extension.

Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), who’s running as an independent for mayor of New York City, has cut Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani’s lead in half, according to a poll released eight days before Election Day. In the latest Suffolk University poll, conducted over the past four days, Mamdani leads Cuomo by 10 points — 44 percent to 34 percent — with Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa following with 11 percent. In Suffolk’s poll last month, Mamdani was 20 points ahead of Cuomo — 45 percent to 25 percent —

Former President Barack Obama was “not happy” with Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) quick endorsement of then-Vice President Kamala Harris — and he let it be known in a phone call with the former House speaker, according to a new book. Pelosi described Harris as “brilliantly astute” and expressed “full confidence” that the ex-California senator could defeat President Trump in her endorsement statement, which came less than 24 hours after Joe Biden ended his 2024 re-election bid. Obama, who preferred to let “a process” determine Trump’s Democratic Party opponent, called Pelosi shortly after her endorsement to vent his frustration —

Zohran Mamdani may have won the Democratic primary in the race to become New York City’s next mayor, but many local Democrats still oppose him. In fact, he didn’t get a majority of votes in the first round against Andrew Cuomo, Brad Landers, and others. The Post spoke to several “never Mamdani” Democrats from across the city about what worries them about the frontrunner, from his anti-business policies to his lack of understanding of working class struggles: “If you know anything about Black history since the great migration, it was only by purchasing private property that we were able to gain economic empowerment in New York City … So,

One of Curtis Silwa’s staunchest supporters in the orthodox Jewish community is dropping the Republican and instead backing ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the mayoral race against front-runner Zohran Mamdani. Americans Against Antisemitism founder Dov Hikind – who formerly represented the heavily orthodox Borough Park and Midwood as a state Assemblyman from 1983 to 2018 – said he flipped because Cuomo offered a better chance at stopping Mamdani, the Democratic nominee. “I have nothing but good things to say about Curtis. But at the end of the day it’s very clear that Curtis can’t win,” Hikind told The Post of the red-beret wearing founder of the vigilante Guardian Angels.

According to a report by Israel's KAN News, Hamas has already selected half of the technocratic government's members, including figures sympathetic to the terror group, while the Palestinian Authority, headed by Mahmoud Abbas, chose the other half. Mediators, including Egypt, presented the full list to Hamas to ensure its approval, a move that will allow the terror group to maintain influence in the Gaza Strip after the war. The terrorists who launched the war by committing the worst crime against Jews since the Holocaust and who brought death and destruction on their own people should not be allowed to have a say in the future governance of the coastal enclave.

The race for New York City mayor has tightened considerably — with ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo cutting front-runner Zohran Mamdani’s lead in half from a month ago, according to a new poll. Mamdani, the Democratic nominee, now leads Cuomo, running as an independent, just 44% to 34% among the likely Big Apple voters, the Suffolk University survey found. Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa is in third place with 11% support. But Mamdani had a 20-point lead over Cuomo in Suffolk University’s prior poll conducted in September. It’s Suffolk’s first survey since Mayor Eric Adams completely dropped his re-election bid and endorsed Cuomo.

A new report is revealing how much trouble the DNC is in terms of money. The report revealed some of what the DNC is hearing from its donors, and it's not good. They ultimately found someone to host, but got less than they expected. That's brutal. And it tells you what they think about Kamala Harris, at least at this point. She's dropping hints she may run, but I don't think she will find an encouraging reception. That may explain why Democrats have so much less in the bank than Republicans. There's also a concern about the radicals, and if the DNC is focused in the right direction.

A college financial aid advisor allegedly strangled his girlfriend before setting fire to their upstate New York home while she and their newborn baby were inside, according to authorities and reports. Kidane Haile, 30, was indicted Thursday after a horrific scene unfolded at 8:35 a.m. on Oct. 18 when Buffalo firefighters responded to a blaze at an apartment on Norwood Avenue, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement. Inside the home, first responders found Haile’s girlfriend, 29-year-old Kathleen “Katie” Carrig, and their 4-day-old son, Noah, unresponsive. Both the mother and son were pronounced dead on the scene, prosecutors said. Haile strangled Carrig before setting the house ablaze, prosecutors alleged.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security awarded AT&T a 10-year, $146 million contract last year to maintain and expand emergency communications systems such as the Government Emergency Telecommunications Service and Wireless Priority Service, according to a September 2024 company press release. The award extends AT&T’s long-running partnership with DHS into next-generation 5G networks. At the same time, federal immigration data shows the telecom giant has continued to rely on foreign labor. Last week, CNN called her out, and she was clearly unprepared, and now, MSNBC of all places joined in. And once again, she did not handle it well. Let’s rewind a bit.

One aspect of the government shutdown that probably wasn’t anticipated by Chuck Schumer and other Democrats, is that it has revealed to the public just how many people receive food stamps. Years ago, when the program was still called ‘food stamps’ it was seen as something that struggling families might use temporarily to get through a hard time. Then it was re-branded as the ‘SNAP’ program and destigmatized. People were encouraged to enroll. Now there are many more people using the program, many who probably don’t even really need it. The longer the shutdown goes on, the more reports there are about this and it’s stunning to taxpayers

(Snip) What was true in the last election cycle, and in 2019, remains true now: Kamala Harris is a very, very weak candidate for the Democratic Party. Nor is it difficult to divine what has led to this dismal state of affairs — the party has lurched so far to the left that most of its iconic leaders would be regarded as too conservative to win the Democratic presidential nomination.
