‘They Broke the Goodwill Contract’:
Canada’s Sweeping Firearm Seizure

Gun control in America’s northern neighbor has moved into confiscation phase, as Nova Scotia, Canada’s east coast province, kicked off a pilot program of “voluntary” gun buybacks in September, while the western provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan say they will not comply. The national ban was originally decreed by then-Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government in 2020, covering 1,500 models of rifles, but has since been expanded to include more than 2,500 models. And while the ban is purported to cover “semi-automatic firearms with sustained rapid-fire capability,” the list of prohibited firearms also includes more traditional bolt-action rifles and shotguns commonly used in hunting.

There is nothing remotely "voluntary" about it. Give up the gun, or go to prison. Not voluntary.

Just one more reason for Alberta and Saskatchewan, the most American of the Canadian provinces, to become part of the United States of America. Regimes that disarm their civilians do so with the goal of killing them at some future time when their lives have become too inconvenient for their masters in Ottawa, or wherever. That always happens. Canada has gone commie, almost as if there were a iMadman up there running their affairs. (There was; his name is Justin Castreau, bastage son of the original Cigar Man.)

#22, fyi - NY State requires a background check on certain muzzleloaders. And here is your trivia for today. On January 30, 1835, President Jackson walked into the Capitol building, was confronted by a mentally ill house painter who believed he was King Richard III, and the house painter drew two flintlock pistols and fired both at the President. Each pistol misfired (thus the term flash in the pan) and a feeble, 68 year old President Jackson pummeled the would be assassin with his cane. The attempted assassin was acquitted of murder, by reason of insanity, and lived out his life in an insane asylum

Give up your guns, you give up your right to say no to your government. Tyranny will use any method to gain power and control. The first step is to take away the citizen's right to defend themselves. During WW2, Japan admitted that invading America was impossible. The reason, " There's a gun behind every blade of grass." To our Canadian friends " WAKE UP!"

This is how a government behaves when it's worried about its population getting mad enough to take matters into its own hands. They would like to give themselves more power and become an authoritarian state or even worse. After all, they truly consider that they have a divine right to rule since they are on the left and proper side of history. I use the word "divine" while knowing that most despise all religions except maybe Islam. I can see the western provinces considering secession and no good will come of this. Those provinces are well armed and will resist gun confiscation or worse. That is, of course, if they haven't become as feminized as the pansies in Ottawa.

Don't forget when ObamaCare was first introduced. The gov't tried to standardize as much as possible. They mandated annual physicals in which the physician/NP was instructed to ask how many guns were in the patient's home. They said the question was to reduce the incidence of suicide, but we know they wanted to information for additional purposes. Most doctors in my state knew better than to ask the question.

Why do so many acquiesce to so few? All this talk in the US regarding Canada becoming part of the US. Do we really want to inherit 40 million squishes who would so readily give up their firearms? To what end? We in the US know to what end - that being slavery for all. This is what socialism does to the mind - it makes one weak, and easily susceptible to coercion.

One aspect of the government shutdown that probably wasn’t anticipated by Chuck Schumer and other Democrats, is that it has revealed to the public just how many people receive food stamps. Years ago, when the program was still called ‘food stamps’ it was seen as something that struggling families might use temporarily to get through a hard time. Then it was re-branded as the ‘SNAP’ program and destigmatized. People were encouraged to enroll. Now there are many more people using the program, many who probably don’t even really need it. The longer the shutdown goes on, the more reports there are about this and it’s stunning to taxpayers

Let the wailing and gnashing of teeth begin. Within the first two weeks of the ongoing government shutdown, agency heads reportedly sent permanent layoff notices to about 4,000 federal employees under the guidance of Director of the Office of Management and Budget Russ Vought. But compared to the private sector, this is a proverbial drop in the bucket. The partial lapse in government funding has dragged on for 27 days now as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and 44 other senators continue to block the “clean” government funding measure that the House passed in September. As a result of the funding lapse, Vought says that 10,000 federal employees could ultimately
