Spain’s Parliament Approves Arms Embargo
on Israel

Original Article

In a sharply divided vote, Spain’s parliament on Wednesday formally ratified a sweeping arms embargo on Israel, converting what had been an executive decree into permanent law. The motion passed by a narrow margin of 178 to 169, closing a political chapter and heightening tensions between Madrid and Tel Aviv. This new law has changed the status of the two‑year moratorium enacted at the onset of Israel’s war in Gaza into a binding statute. The newly approved legislation bans the export and import of all defense and dual‑use technologies, and it prohibits ships and aircraft carrying fuel or military‑usable cargo from entering Spanish ports or airspace.

Comments:

Earlier today, PDJT suggested to the Finnish President that perhaps Spain should be expelled from NATO. Calling Spain a "laggard". for refusing to contribute more than 2% GDP toward NATO defense, and suspending plans to adopt the F-35 jet in favor of a Turkish fighter rather than keeping commitments to America and European countries.

Spain must immediately open their borders to any Palestinians who wish to leave Israel. If they are so sympathetic to the Palestinian cause, they must do all they can to help them. Spain must also put their money where their mouth is and commit substantial funds to rebuild Gaza.

Exactly what does Israel need in the way of Spanish arms? I doubt very much of anything. Maybe some of our more patriotic citizens planning a trip to Spain will cancel and tell their travel agent why. I would suggest boycotting Spanish imports but I have no idea of what those might be. Back in my alcohol days, I used to buy some Spanish brandy because it was more affordable than the good French stuff but I can't think of anything else.

Pro-Palestinian agitators accused of being behind a riot Tuesday are now being charged with "promotion of anarchy" after the melee left several officers injured. The Boston Herald reported that the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office on Thursday upgraded charges for all 13 suspects, who are now accused of violating a state law that makes "promotion of anarchy" illegal and is a felony charge, according to court documents. Between 200 and 300 people participated in a pro-Palestinian demonstration in downtown Boston that quickly descended into a riot. The DA's office upgraded charges after a review of posters promoting the so-called protest, which feature a quote from a Hamas spokesperson and a burning

Los Angeles firefighters did not use thermal imaging technology to detect lingering embers underground after a New Year’s Day fire in Pacific Palisades that flared up days later to become one of the most destructive infernos in the city’s history. Interim Fire Chief Ronnie Villanueva said in an interview Wednesday that fire officials decided against employing the technology, which would have pinpointed heat underground, because of the fire’s eight-acre size. In the 36-plus hours that crews spent mopping up, firefighters “cold trailed” the perimeter, chopping a line around the fire and feeling for residual heat. They packed up and returned the next day, after a report of smoke

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump directed his Cabinet to pursue designating Antifa a foreign terrorist organization, escalating his administration’s crackdown on the decentralized group. At a White House event featuring journalists who claimed to be victims of Antifa violence, Trump stated, “If you agree, I agree. Let’s get it done.” Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller stated, “There are extensive foreign ties, and I think that would be a very valid step.” This move follows Trump’s earlier executive order which declared Antifa a domestic terrorist organization. (F)oreign terrorist organization (FTO) status would trigger powerful federal tools — financial sanctions, travel restrictions, asset freezes, and criminal penalties.

Several high-profile antifa leaders have fled the country or are actively making plans to abscond overseas. News of their escape comes after President Donald Trump designated antifa as a domestic terrorist threat and directed federal authorities to dismantle terrorism networks operating within the United States. Mark Bray, a financier of transnational antifa operations and antifa’s foremost thought leader in America, announced he is fleeing to Europe, settling in Spain specifically, under the pretext of safety concerns following negative media attention. Before his departure, Bray issued an apparent call-to-action, urging widespread militancy. “Only mass antifascism, legal or not, can save us,” Bray declared on Bluesky, a popular platform on the political Left.

The US Supreme Court was hearing a challenge on Tuesday by a Christian therapist to a Colorado law that bans “conversion therapy” for minors who are questioning their gender identity or sexual orientation. The case was brought by Kaley Chiles, a licensed mental health counselor who argues that the prohibition from holding such conversations with minors is a violation of her First Amendment free speech rights. “Colorado forbids counselors like Kaley Chiles from helping minors pursue state-disfavored goals on issues of gender and sexuality,” her attorney, James Campbell, told the court at the start of oral arguments. “The First Amendment doesn’t permit Colorado censorship.”

The Department of Energy canceled a $630.6 million Biden-era grant that would have funded green energy projects in California, and which Gov. Gavin Newsom (D.) praised as "critical" to the state, the Washington Free Beacon has learned. According to internal agency documents, Trump Energy Department officials determined that the grant would have been used primarily to support new solar and wind energy projects. State leaders said they planned to use the funding to upgrade 100 miles of transmission lines to enable more green energy to come online as part of the California Energy Commission's so-called CHARGE 2T program.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced a multipronged effort aimed at lowering drug costs in the United States, including the creation of a “TrumpRx” direct-to-consumer website where Americans can buy medicine at discounted prices and a sweeping deal with Pfizer to reduce the prices of many of its products. “The United States is done subsidizing the health care of the rest of the world,” Trump said at a news conference. “By taking this bold step, we’re ending the era of global price gouging at the expense of American families.” Pfizer is the first drugmaker to voluntarily agree to all the demands Trump laid out to pharmaceutical company CEOs.

The automaker has doubled down on gas models and, according to the governor, lobbied state officials to roll back California’s landmark clean car law.
