It’s been a good week for internet karma. Michael Mann, the promoter of the climate science “hockey stick”, who was ordered to pay $1 million in damages last year for his bogus lawsuits against critics, has now been forced out of his cushy job at Penn State. It seems he could not help posting stupid, hateful things about Charlie Kirk.
The long arm of intellectual justice also caught up with celebrity scientist Neil DeGrasse Tyson, as well. It seems that the decades of fabrications and hoaxes this guy has promoted finally got noticed and he and Wikipedia are furiously deleting all the garbage he has produced over the years.

On par with the equally arrogant buffoon Bill Nye the propaganda guy.

I would love an honest review of Tyson's thesis. He's the perfect example of the damage done by AA. Some legitimately talented students didn't get into undergrad and grad school because room was made for him.
I remember one of my physics professors in college debunking Sagan's wild claim about nuclear winter. Unfortunately, too many people believe it because the media keeps repeating it.

Unfortunately, with famousness, even acquired legitimately, comes big ego. Some people can manage that, many cannot. Their ego makes them think they are infallible in their areas of expertise and that their capabilities cross over into unrelated areas. The worst thing is that they become "stars" in all forms of public activities. Unless you are VERY well grounded, that can turn most people's heads. And let's not forget the money. Neil Tyson has a net worth of $5 million and he could retire and live well for the rest of his life. Not bad for someone who is mostly wrong about things he says. The money reinforces his ego.
Part of the reason that many people like this get away with what they say is that the outcomes they forecast will not be verified for long in the future. The whole Global Warming scam is built on this flaw but its shelf life is finally coming due. So too for the people that have pushed it.

It's nice to see the schemes are being exposed but they've already cost BILLIONS of dollars in wasted productivity.
It's bloated the government payrolls across the globe too.
We can, and should, help ensure there is a clean environment but we need to also recognize many of the recent wildfires have spewed more CO2 into the air than all the cars do in a whole year.
We also need to remember the Paris Accords provided a long lead time to meet the goal they set.
And we still have 75 years to meet that goal.
This push to meet some net zero emissions is all ego and very much aspirational but not urgent.

The link in the second paragraph to The Federalist's article on the controversy is also well worth a "click."

Tyson has been a pompous blowhard for decades. Good riddance.
And it appears that Charlie Kirk has finally done what Mark Steyn and a trainload of facts could never do.....push the liar Michael Mann out of Penn State.
The first line is right, a good week for internet karma.

He's a faux astrophysicist of the left. Read his Wikipedia page and you might be left with more questions than answers. Why did he fail so badly at the University of Texas? Partying too much? Or was it something more "righteous," such as the faculty discovered he was just an "Affirmative Action" PhD candidate who was unqualified to occupy a slot in their famous program? Instead, after 3 years at UT, Tyson slinked out of Texas with a lowly, "Masters of Arts (MA) in Astronomy," instead of a "PhD in Astrophysics," that he started out to achieve. It seems the young, 'Master Tyson," spent a wee too many nights partying on Austin's Sixth Street and not enough in his grad student 'cubby'. It's also quite revealing how Wikipedia does not list the title of his (PhD) Dissertation, as it does for his (Masters) Thesis, which is yet another example of, "the world turned upside down," as is often the case for infamous leftists. He also has a rather sparse scientific publications list, yet even the ones listed in Wikipedia, feature him as either a co-author, or as the writer of "science opinion pieces," with titles only a 4th grader would find intriguing, such as, 'Why Is Mars Such An Angry Planet?'
Neil DeGas Tiresome's decades of ill-gotten fame, are thankfully about over, as the planets align (yes, even Pluto) to define his "jig" as being "up."

#6 is correct, although it appears that Mann has not been fully fired from Penn State, only from his Vice Provost for Climate post. He probably lost a hefty salary that went with that post.
And the Federalist artice, unfortunately, states the conventional wisdom that Mann is an honored scientist when in reality he is a CHARLATAN and professional fraud who has managed to protect his fraud for decades with the help of deep Penn State legal pockets.
Mann sued Mark Steyn and another blogger for defamation (for telling the truth, that Mann and his famed "hockey stick" graph allegedly showing sudden warming, is a fraud), and a DC jury (of course, it's DC) awarded Mann $1 million in damages to be paid by Steyn and his co-defendant. This was reduced to $5,000 on appeal, and then later, Mann was ordered to pay $477,000 in legal fees to one defendant, $530K in legal fees to National Review and $55K in court costs.
Mann is a fraud, and his famous "hockey stick" graph is and always has been a FRAUD. The 'data smoothing algorithm' the he used has been shown to produce a hockey stick (graph line with a sudden kink upwards) from ANY data entered. Random numbers 'smoothed' by his 'algorithm' turns into a kinked line graph. FRAUD, masquerading as science - and yet he is honored in the US and abroad and had made many, many millions for his FRAUD.

Does this mean that we can start calling Pluto a planet again?

The author of this article tars too many with too broad a brush in attacking Tyson. Christopher Hitchins was indeed anti-religious, but to call him an "ignoramus" is foolish. William F. Buckley and Lucianne Goldberg would have disagreed, as do I.
And Dr. Carl Sagan was real scientist and polymath whose errant political opinions do not invalidate his many contributions to human understanding. His T.V. series "Cosmos," brought science to life for an generation of young people, of which I was one.

I don't care how many degrees, letters after one's name, or celebrity anyone has.
The Bible says, simply and clearly, "The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God'".
True science will acknowledge God the Creator, if not His son Jesus.
