How do we explain it when celebrities

A number of show business, news media, and political personages have proclaimed vile comments, cheering the murder of Christian conservative Charlie Kirk. So, too, have entertainment-industry has-beens who grab for modern relevance. None will be named by this writer, who doesn’t wish to aid miserable lost souls’ quests. I believe there are at least two reasons some celebrities acquit themselves so despicably. First, unfortunately, a hatred market exists. Just as there are garbage-hearted people with wallets, there breathe conscienceless graspers with big eyes. Whether someone is selling a candidacy, a movie ticket, a TV program, a recording, or any other commodity, market cultivation is surely a consideration.

I have a third theory. They had basic talent, like thousands of others. Then when their character was evaluated as usable, the deep state sponsored them. Celebrities are not all self made men- they are men with a lust for fame and fortune. When they get their position of influence they are expected to repay for the boost they received. Evil celebrities were selected to promote due to their character flaws. It is called ascertainment bias if you judge the verbal ones based on their celebrity status, when it is actually based on their character. By the way, the exact same thing happens with politicians! Which is why we have ended up with such a sleazy collection in congress.

It's important to remember that for most of human history, actors were considered pariahs, hardly better than prostitutes and thieves. That changed with motion pictures, because people could watch the performance without having to deal with the actors in person. That's why the studio system so closely monitored the actors, and why the PR business thrived as the studios controlled the narrative. With social media, people are once again seeing just how awful actors are. The studios can no longer hide their depravity.

Most celebritiies aren't very intelligent, and they live in a world where everyone around them is an extreme lefty. So, these weak minded folks buy into the groupthink that they swim in. They live and breath saying other people's words with conviction....so many don't really have many original thoughts on any given day.

I learned long ago.... Don't confuse the Actor with the Character that they play. My experience (I ran the stage crew at my high school, an embarrassingly long time ago) was that there were some very nice people in the 'Drama' classes, but there was also a higher-than-normal collection of lazy, foolish and egotistical jerks.

Someone (I forget who it was) once said actors usually come from all across the country. They gather in H'wood and cut ties with home and family because they want fame and money. Like others here have said, they sell their souls to achieve this. They will say and do anything they are told to. The problem with that now is what they say spreads across the internet and it's starting to cost them their career. Susan Sarandon, Tom Hanks, and other biggies have all said that conservatives, MAGA are 'not very smart' people. Got it. No more watching anything they are in.

Frank Sinatra doesn't belong in this category. He was, by any reasonable assessment, a central figure in 20th Century American culture. He was also, by common consent, a difficult and driven human being. He could, at times, display extraordinary disregard for the feelings of others. He could also, less well known, show extraordinary compassion for people. The great, arguably greatest ever, celebrity profile in Esquire magazine by Gay Talese, "Frank Sinatra Has a Cold," probably gets it about right. It contains this story I like: One of his daughter's college friends was attending a Sinatra party at their home and, in a moment of exuberance, knocked one of two matched statues off the piano. Dead silence, into which Sinatra's daughter wailed, "Those are Mom's favorites!" Frank walked over to the piano, fixed the girl in his eyes, pushed the other statue off the piano, smashing it, and said, "Forget it, kid. It doesn't matter." He wasn't always a good man, but he was a great singer, and did a lot more good than people know.

To succeed in Hollywood, you have to kneel at the altar of money and power and do as you are told. If you don't vote the right way, complain the right way, dress the right way, or make fun of people the Hollywood crowd hates, you will not succeed. There are conservatives in Hollywood, but most are quiet and keep their opinions to themselves out of self-preservation.

Not surprisingly, Disney has announced that late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel will return to the airwaves Tuesday night after an "indefinite" suspension that only lasted a few days. As we reported, Disney's statement noted that their original decision to suspend him was "made because we felt some of the comments [made about alleged Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson] were ill-timed and thus insensitive." "We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday," they also wrote.

People celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk are worse than sick—they’re downright evil. Has there always been this much evil? Or is it worse than it used to be? The answer is not only is it worse, it is much worse, because the philosophical basis of our country has been deteriorating for years. The United States was created by men of the Enlightenment. The Enlightenment, also known as the Age of Reason, was an intellectual movement in the 17th and 18th centuries that used reason as the primary source of knowledge. In essence, the United States was based on reason, and it is reason that has been abandoned due to bad philosophical

It’s always problematic when a relativist claims to be the sole source of truth. ChatGPT defines relativism as: “Relativism is a philosophical stance suggesting that truths, values, or knowledge are not absolute but are instead relative to a specific cultural framework, historical context, or individual perspective.” Trust me, no one makes it clearer that his “truth” is based on a particular, secular, cultural framework, distorted historical context, and above all a twisted individual perspective on life than the current cultural pontificator, Barack Obama. After Charlie Kirk’s brutal assassination, Barry hung up his paddleboard to post this on X:

Through clever innuendo and seemingly noncommittal suggestion, Barack Obama has spent two decades subtly dividing America socially, racially, and politically. Obama is known for making his points with surgical precision. No one can deny that, armed with a sharpened teleprompter, an emotionally detached Barack Obama appears as a methodical, unemotional speaker skilled at disguising deep-seated hostility as civility. The former president’s detached eloquence bears resemblance to that of the fictional character, serial killer and cannibal Hannibal Lecter. Hannibal had a complex psyche that could be hidden behind a refined manner of expressing rage, with his wrath concealed behind a façade of feigned grace and collegiality; that is precisely what Barack Obama does.

On the internet the big story seems to be the indefinite suspension of Jimmy Kimmel by ABC. I confess to being somewhat at a disadvantage. The last time I looked at network television my set had four dials: on/off, vertical, and horizontal, volume, and channel. In this I’m not alone. Kimmel’s show had fewer viewers than a number of online podcasters, sponsors were fleeing, and local stations represented by affiliates Nexstar and Sinclair wanted out. The great Iowahawk nailed the flight from network television: “Anyway, I see people debating who should replace Kimmel in the coveted late night talk chair, and it's like debating who should move into the empty

California Governor Gavin Newsom sparked an uproar on Saturday after his team posted a cryptic message to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. As TGP readers know, Newsom has made himself the leader of the resistance against the Trump Administration, particularly on the issue of illegal immigration. This feud has been heightened ever since Trump sent ICE agents to LA to round up illegals earlier this year. Perhaps with this in mind, Newsom’s press team posted a tweet that many read as a threat on Noem’s life. It was certainly vague enough to be interpreted that way. The post reads, “Kristi Noem is going to have a bad day today.

The pieces of this puzzle are starting to come together, and what emerges is a picture that makes perfect sense when viewed through the lens of raw self-interest. Hunter Biden, a man who has spent decades leveraging his father's position for personal gain, may have personally engineered his own presidential pardon. Why do I think this may have been the case? Well, Biden’s former chief of staff, Jeff Zients, revealed during his House Oversight Committee testimony this week that Hunter Biden wasn't just sitting on the sidelines during those crucial final weeks of his father's presidency—he was actively participating in pardon discussions, attending multiple meetings with White House aides.

France and Saudi Arabia hope to use this year’s gathering of world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly and the increasingly horrific war in the Gaza Strip to inject new urgency into the quest for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Those efforts include a new road map for eventual Palestinian statehood in territories Israel seized in the 1967 Mideast war, and moves by several Western countries to join a global majority in recognizing such a state before it has been established. Britain, Canada and Australia formally recognized a Palestinian state on Sunday, joining nearly 150 countries that have already done so,
