Europe in the Balance

Original Article

Almost weekly in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, and Germany, a sensational assault committed by an illegal migrant -- often enjoying some sort of state support or with prior arrests for the same crime -- surfaces. Until recently, European politicians and the media sought to either ignore such news or accuse those who clamored for tighter borders, more police protection, and stiffer penalties of being "racists" or "xenophobes." Until recently, that is. Mass protests are now common in Britain against the Labour Party's open borders policies and generous welfare entitlements for immigrants who arrive illegally and without authentic "political refugee" status.

The planned take over of Europe. Take away each country's currency and replace it with the euro. It's easier that way when traveling between countries. Set up the EU to make laws that the people can't vote on. It's better for the people, they can't be trusted anyway. Implement an invasion by people that have no interest in assimilation and favor them over the law abiding citizens. And we see the people of GB, France, Germany and Austria rising up against the barbarians. muslims are murdering thousands in North Africa. Poland and Hungary said no to the EU and kept the invaders out. muslims are a protected class. Why is that? Their intention is to take over the world. They've said it. They're intend to do through murder and fear and reproduction. The useful idiots of the world are standing with palestine/gaza whatever. Are they not aware that gaza borders Egypt and that there are multiple walls and barbed wire to keep the palis out? Why is that? We can't let PC nonsense shut the truth down.

The core of this argument is this. The fact that your country has messed up. And people are oppressed and economically deprived is no justification to go somewhere where things are better managed. That right simply doesn’t exist.

I went to Europe in 2006 for business. I had been there 2 years in 1953-55 as a child, my Father was in the Army. Everything looked normal, the old places I lived etc. were still there with minor changes. After my business items I decided to drive to the Ferry and cross to England. Driving there was certainly different, all those idiots were on the wrong side of the road (ha ha). Anyway I hooked up with fellow motorcycle riders at the Ace Cafe in London, a Mecca for Motorcycles of all types. I got to know a few fellow riders but one thing struck me as odd. Most of these guys had trades jobs, Electricians, Plumbers etc. The odd thing was they were also on some form of Welfare payments and were complaining about it and at the same time they sounded very conservative. I asked them how that all works. Seems England had and has a very generous welfare system paid for with high taxes on companies. I told them at the time their country was going to fall if the madness continued, they all laughed, Who's Laughing NOW????

Sounds like Europe has reached PEAK STUPID and is out of choices. The Left has been told repeatedly that their policies are NOT sustainable but they are arrogant and power hungry and refused to listen. Now they are out of options and learning that things can't be forced to go the way they want. There is a natural order to society and the economy and you can only bend it so far. Europe has reached the limit. As for immigration, if immigrants could have built a better economy in their countries of origin, why didn't they? The blunt answer is that their societies, with the ideas they support, will always fail. Western society worked well because of the ideas they adopted. When you pull in people who don't understand those ideas and demand they be changed, you undermine successful societies. The Left allows the changes to happen and either celebrate the destruction that results or are stunned that surrendering principles that work results in societal collapse.

As usual, when the government makes a huge mess of things through abuse, wrongheaded ruling and overspending, ordinary people must step up to fix it. It seems to be happening in Britain right now but Germans and the French have yet to figure it out. The American Revolution of 1776 and the French Revolution of 1789 are the example precedents. We repeated the correction here by electing Donald Trump, now it's up to the Euros to turn things around, if they can. The muslim problem has been festering for a few decades and European leadership has been lacking ever since the EU was formed. Stupidity is the overlying problem with Climate Change policies and Unlimited Immigration as it's failed methodologies.

Due to the foresight and genius of America's founders, we were able to obtain partial relief from the Biden-Pelosi regime by electing a Republican House. Unfortunately the British system doesn't require another parliamentary election until August, 2029. Unfortunately Keir Starmer is apparently not ashamed of ruling as a dictator until then.

The European Commission said on Monday that its president, Ursula von der Leyen, was en route to Bulgaria when her plane faced deliberate GPS jamming. "We can confirm there was GPS jamming but the plane landed safe," said Arianna Podesta, a commission spokeswoman. Von der Leyen's plane landed in Plovdiv airport and she is continuing her planned tour of EU countries bordering Russia and Belarus, Podesta said. The EU chief arrived in Bulgaria on Sunday and met with Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov to discuss European security and defense issues.

The heartbreaking mass shooting at the Annunciation Catholic Church on Wednesday has brought the issue of transgenderism once again to the forefront of American conversations. Robert Westman was an unwell boy who, in 2019, decided he was a girl and officially changed his name to Robin. Westman was a minor at the time so his mother, Mary Grace Weston, signed the application. This is the second such attack by a transgender person on a Christian school. In March 2023, Audrey Hale killed six people, including three children, at the Covenant School in Nashville.

France, Germany and the UK launched a 30-day process to reimpose sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program on Thursday, sending a letter stating their intent to the UN Security Council. The three countries only had until October this year, 10 years after they originally lifted the sanctions, as a window where it would be possible to automatically reinstate the penalties, which include a complete embargo on arms sales to Iran. An Iranian deputy foreign minister said earlier on Thursday that Tehran would cease cooperation with the UN's nuclear agency if France, Germany and the UK reimposed so-called "snapback" sanctions that were halted as part of the 2015 nuclear deal.

If ever there were an example of the perils of the Democrat approach to crime and social disorder, it is Minneapolis, ground zero of the George Floyd/defund-the-police movement that roiled the country five years ago, and a “sanctuary transgender state.” The deadly mass shooting of small children at Mass at Annunciation Catholic School Wednesday brings home the tragic cost of a disordered society, where evil rampages unchecked and those who would protect the vulnerable are handcuffed and pushed away. It’s too early to say exactly how, or even if, the tragedy could have been prevented. Yet Minnesota Democrats already have reached for their lazy gun-control mantra,
