While accepting an award at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday, Axios reporter Alex Thompson acknowledged that he and other members of the mainstream media failed to properly report on President Biden’s declining mental acuity.
“Being truth tellers also means telling the truth about ourselves,” Thompson said as he accepted the Aldo Beckman Award for Overall Excellence in White House Coverage. “We, myself included, missed a lot of this story.”
“President Biden’s decline and its cover-up by the people around him is a reminder that every White House, regardless of party, is capable of deception,” he added.
“Some people trust us less because of it,”

On Monday, a House Democrat introduced seven articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, kicking off a bid that has virtually no chance of succeeding in the Republican-led Congress.
The impeachment resolution from Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-MI) accuses Trump of “high crimes and misdemeanors” over alleged constitutional violations related to taxpayer funds, deportations, tariffs, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) effort led by Elon Musk, retaliation against the press, and others.
“Donald Trump has repeatedly demonstrated that he is unfit to serve as President and represents a clear and present danger to our nation’s constitution and our democracy,” Thanedar said

Former first lady Michelle Obama voiced deep concerns about what’s happening to migrants under President Trump’s aggressive deportation policy, railing against its impact on her home city of Chicago.
During a conversation about race and fear, the former first lady acknowledged that she has a pretty protected lifestyle, while fretting that everyday people living outside her bubble might be suffering.
“In this current climate, for me it’s what’s happening to immigrants,” Obama, 61, told “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” during a podcast episode that dropped Monday when asked her most “recent test of fear.”
“It’s not the fear for myself anymore,”

“Deranged” doesn’t even begin to cover the LGBTQ++ qweirdos anymore.
According to a new item by Reduxx journalist Amy Hamm, a diaper-wearing pervert has just won a years-long court battle to force his health insurance provider to cover the cost of a very “unique” surgery: he’s keeping his penis, but he’s adding a fake “neo-vagina” between his male appendage and his…waste hole.
I’m assuming that means he’s lopping off his testes? Blech, who knows.

With the average cost of a new car edging toward the $50,000 mark, affordable, basic transportation is becoming increasingly difficult for many Americans.
Slate, a new EV startup backed by Jeff Bezos, believes its new $25,000 pickup truck, which could cost less than $20,000 with tax credits, could help change that, its CEO, Chris Barman, told Business Insider.
"There's a massive population of people out there when it comes to safe, reliable, affordable transportation; there just really aren't many alternatives for them," Barman said in an interview ahead of the unveiling of the new EV this week.
A $25,000 price point would mean achieving something

Illinois Democrat Governor J.B. Pritzker, apparently beginning his quest for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, called for “mass protests” and “destruction” in an evident attempt to outflank any other prospective candidate in rhetoric targeting the Trump administration.
An average of recent polls of prospective 2028 Democratic presidential candidates found that former Vice President Kamala Harris led with 27.1%, followed by former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg at 16.1%, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) at 12.9%, New Jersey Senator Cory Booker at 8.6%, and California Governor Gavin Newsom at 7.9%. Pritzker ranked 10th with 3.2%.
Speaking at the New Hampshire Democratic Party’s McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner on Sunday, Pritzker bellowed, “Never before

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), during a ridiculous "sit-in" on the steps of the Capitol, invoked Civil War-era rhetoric to portray Democrats as "patriots" and the Republican party as "traitors."
Jeffries' controversial comments came during a staged protest on the steps of Congress, where he was initially joined by Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ/Sparta) and then accompanied by several other Democrats and their colleagues. This was by design, an attempt to make their "sit-in" appear to be an organic swelling of support—impressive in their own minds, much like Booker's fake 25-hour filibuster. Rev. William Barber joined the exercise in futility. He discussed putting “principles over party," triggering Jeffries to

A liberal Minnesota prosecutor receiving backlash for letting a Tesla vandal off easy is now pushing to reduce “racial disparities” in sentencing.
Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty’s office will consider a defendant’s “racial identity” when weighing potential plea deals starting Monday, KARE 11 reported. Moriarty drew criticism days earlier after declining to prosecute an employee in Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s administration who keyed six Tesla vehicles and caused more than $21,000 in damage.
“While racial identity and age are not appropriate grounds for departures [from the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines], proposed resolutions should consider the person charged as a whole person, including their racial identity and age,” a memo

An Illinois state legislator is pushing to move the United States Department of Agriculture out of Washington D.C., and into the heart of farm country.
State Rep. Regan Deering, R-Decatur, has introduced House Resolution 177 urging President Donald Trump and the U.S. Congress to begin the process of relocating the USDA from Washington, D.C., to central Illinois.
Deering emphasized that crops don’t grow in a swamp, they grow in the fertile plains of central Illinois. She added that it's time the government relocated the USDA to a place where people are focused on planting crops, not just pushing paper.
“Bloomington and Decatur are home to major agribusiness giants like Archer-Daniels-Midland, Gromiant, Gromark and

Former Vice President Kamala Harris wants to propel herself back into the national political conversation, as former aides are teasing an upcoming major speech criticizing President Donald Trump. The failed presidential candidate will deliver the keynote speech at the Emerge 20th anniversary gala at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco on Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET.
The speech will be live-streamed, according to the organizer Emerge, a Democratic group that recruits and trains women to run for public office. It's a major fundraiser as tickets cost up to $50,000 for a sponsor. But the group is also charging $25 per virtual watch. Harris is expected to deliver a 'call to action,'

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) announced Monday that he will step out of the top Democratic seat on the powerful Oversight and Government Reform Committee, citing the return of the esophagus cancer he’s been battling since late last year.
Connolly said he will also be leaving Congress at the end of the term, his ninth serving Northern Virginia in the House.
“The sun is setting on my time in public service, and this will be my last term in Congress. I will be stepping back as Ranking Member of the Oversight Committee soon,” Connolly said in a statement addressing his constituents.
