World leaders criticise Trump tariffs
as 'major blow'

Original Article

Donald Trump's decision to impose new tariffs on all goods entering the US is a "major blow to the world economy", European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen has said. Her comments echo those of a number of other countries, including China, which has expressed its opposition to the move and has warned it will take "resolute countermeasures" against the US. Their words of warning come after the US president announced a universal 10% tariff on all imports into the US from 5 April. Around 60 countries will also be hit with steeper tariffs from 9 April.

Comments:

There's a new Tariff Sheriff in town.

Reciprocity is a beautiful thing. It's also an irrefutable thing. Just take a look at that tariff chart and try to refute it. Not possible.

It's a "major blow" to them that Trump sets their tariffs at HALF what they charge us. Do they even hear themselves?

HUGE tears for "the world economy," which has been subsidized by America at least since 1913, when tariffs were removed by leftists and replaced by U S taxes, to the Marshall Plan which PAID for the reconstruction of the countries that had attacked us. Over the years, with (too) rare exceptions, we've been paying for the "New World Order" which continues trying to destroy us. It's about time they were set adrift, to sink or swim on their own.

James Finlayson failed to make it as a leading man in Hollywood but became one of the most memorable comic foils ever to grace the silver screen. The Scottish actor performed in more than 100 films but was best known for being the "third man" to Laurel and Hardy. With his distinctive fake moustache, he starred with the iconic duo in 33 of their films and later became the inspiration for Homer Simpson's "D'oh!" catchphrase. Now Finlayson has been memorialised with a new portrait in the Scottish theatre where he first trod the boards more than a century ago.

The Arctic is warming four times faster than the rest of the world, which means the difference between temperatures up north and down south are shrinking, Francis said. Arctic sea ice is shrinking,
