During an appearance on FNC’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino discussed the details surrounding Jeffrey Epstein’s death. According to Bongino, Epstein committed suicide. “You said Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide,” host Maria Bartiromo said. “People don’t believe it.” (snip) Bongino added, “He killed himself. Again, you want me to — I have seen the whole file. He killed himself.”

Did he kill himself with a gun pointed at his head?

We haven't seen the file, and spending a few hours looking at a file does not constitute an investigation. Bongino was never an investigator. He was a body guard, and has no clue how to manage the FBI.

Dan: If you're so sure of this, then why not release the whole file? Those of us who are rational might believe you. Then again, both rational and irrational people distrust the Deep State... Ultimately, the continued delay in disclosure serves only to damage both your credibility and that of Director Patel.

Jeffrey Epstein was a high profile, high risk prisoner subject to periodic checks by guards and 24-7 cctv surveillance to protect him from harm by other prisoners or himself. On the night he died guards were either absent or asleep when they should have been performing wellness checks and the cctv camera was disabled. If Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide the U.S. Bureau of Prisons allowed and enabled him to do so.

In the very unlikely event that he did kill himself, there is no official in the entire government who I would believe if he told me so. Both parties are so completely corrupt and so many have been shown to be visitors at the baby rape island, nobody can be trusted.

Sounds about how Field Marshall Erwin Rommel died during WWII. After being alleged to have been involved in the failed attempt on Hitler's life, he was given the option of ending his own. It appears that is exactly what happened. But then again, Rommel was reputed to be an honorable soldier. Epstein was far less.

He's probably right. But we'll never know for sure. I'm more interested in how Epstein came about his wealth and debauchery. Those in the financial business dealing in similar securities never heard of the guy, never did trades, etc. Was he a friendly or unfriendly intelligence asset? The lady sitting in prison might be the only person who knows. And from what I don't hear, she ain't telling because I would guess it would negatively affect her health, if you get what I mean.

I have to agree with 7 and 8. Maybe he did commit suicide, but he was allowed (encouraged?) to do so. Too many coincidences - no cellmate, cameras broken, guards asleep, etc. So technically maybe he did the deed but it should have been prevented, not coerced/permitted.

I see it as a coded admission: Kash recited his resume' to buttress the claim, Bongino shook his head as he confirmed it, eyeballs careened around in their sockets like ping pong games, and Maria replied "it's not an easy job.' (or that was the gist of her reply.) Disappointing to say the least, but consider: between the lie and truth, sometimes the lie is the lesser of two evils. This is especially true in diplomacy.

I worked as a correctional officer in a high security all male prison (about 30 years ago though) so maybe SOPs have changed (for the worse) but really Dan? I know you were a USSS agent but that only gives you insight into USSS policies and SOPs. Bill Barr's ties through his father to Epstein are just, well, interesting. And as for Patel - please stop referring to the FBI as the world's premier law enforcement agency. MAYBE after complete your term as Director, but no way can you or anyone else make that claim at this point in time. Gee whiz, barely a year ago - you were talking about dismantling the agency. Now you're its biggest cheerleader.

If anyone in the future cares enough to write an authentic history of the 2024 presidential campaign, they might begin by noting that American politics exists downstream of American culture, which is a deep and broad river. Like any river, American culture follows a particular path, which has been reconfigured at key moments by new technologies. In turn, these technologies, which redefine both space and time—canals and lakes, the postal system, the telegraph, railroads, radio and later television, the internet, and most recently the networking of billions of people in real time on social media platforms—set the rules by which stories are communicated, audiences are configured, and individuals define themselves.

In his 17-month stint as UF president, Ben Sasse more than tripled his office’s spending, directing millions in university funds into secretive consulting contracts and high-paying positions for his GOP allies. Sasse ballooned spending under the president’s office to $17.3 million in his first year in office — up from $5.6 million in former UF President Kent Fuchs’ last year, according to publicly available administrative budget data. A majority of the spending surge was driven by lucrative contracts with big-name consulting firms and high-salaried, remote positions for Sasse’s former U.S. Senate staff and Republican officials.
