Eating a specific type of sugar can turbocharge cancers and make them more deadly, according to new research.
Fructose — which is added to thousands of US food and drinks — was found to speed up the growth of certain kinds of skin, breast and cervical tumors.
The study showed this type of sugar gets converted by the liver into components that tumors need to build new cells and grow. The more quickly a tumor grows, the more aggressive the cancer may become - able to take over a person's body before they can fight back.
Added fructose is sugar that is extracted from sources like corn and added to

Fructose is a natural sugar in many fruits, vegetables and in honey. I am skeptical that this is something that can be changed in any sort of a normal diet.
I also wonder if ALL cancers don't use some common molecules in the body.

Fructose is a simple sure (monosaccharide) found in fruits. It's easier for your body to make glucose from fructose. Sucrose is table sugar, a polysaccharide. Fructose good, sucrose bad.

Is this meaning to refer to high fructose corn syrup? The highly concentrated form of sugar became the darling of our food industry, as a cheaper form of sweetener that's much cheaper to add to processed foods. Most of our sweetened cereals and sodas and snack products are packed with the stuff. Not to be confused with saccharine or other sugar-free substitutes for calorie watchers. . HFCS has been implicated in the surge in cases of type 2 diabetes.

"Some early studies have suggested that eating more of these processed sugars might not just accelerate cancer growth, but could also be a cause of some kinds of cancer." Meaning - send me grant money.

#1,#3~ While “fructose” does, according to this research, speed up the growth in some cancers, it is high fructose corn syrup, a “processed sugar,” that might accelerate cancer growth, “but could also be a cause of some kinds of cancer.” Fructose “is a sugar found naturally in fruits, fruit juices, some vegetables and honey.” “High-fructose corn syrup is derived from cornstarch, which is first broken down to create a substance that is 100% glucose. Makers then add enzymes to that mix to turn some of that glucose into another type of sugar, fructose, which is also found in your favorite fruits. So, high-fructose corn syrup is a mix of glucose, and typically, between 42% and 55% fructose, according to the FDA.”
Studies have indicated : “Eating too much high fructose corn syrup can lead to insulin resistance, obesity, Type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure.” Researchers at the University of São Paulo, Brazil sorted foods into four categories based on their level of processing and found that “ultra processed foods and beverages have the potential to be the most concerning health-wise because they contain a variety of ingredients that includes INGREDIENTS NOT FOUND IN NATURE, SUCH AS HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP.”
As an individual with numerous and varied allergies that may result in negative reactions not usually experienced by others, personal severe reactions to artificial sweeteners AND high fructose corn syrup result in inability to function requiring bed confinement, body tremors, chills, imbalance, migraine headache, throwing up, overall body weakness, and may last for several hours. Artificial sweeteners AND high fructose corn syrup are forbidden within this household.

It's almost like the Deep State is trying to kill us all off. Worldwide pandemics, poisonous ingredients allowed in our food. Unleash RFK Jr.

Fructose is NOT unique to American food. It's a common sugar in fruit and fruit juices.

Honey is almost pure fructose (except artificially fed... sucrose, HFCS... bees). Ditto for the flower nectar. Corn syrup is naturally high in fructose, after all, sucrose (table sugar) is a molecule of fructose linked to a molecule of glucose. Our bodies split it apart. There is a process to raise the percentage, fructose-fructose tastes sweeter.
The only sugar I am having problems with is lactose at this point.
Is there any proof of a metabolic pathway that leads from fructose to a toxic substance?
Ok, I just read a comprehensive paper on fructose metabolism. It actually yields more energy than glucose. This makes it more fattening if the energy is not being used up. Only certain organs can directly metabolize it, too. It is a sugar that we have evolved with that has always been in the human diet. The sugar itself must not be the problem. Which leads to the question: What is it in the high fructose diet that IS creating the toxic effect?

#8 has broken it down so that even the most ardent fructose lover can understand it. Try reading or re-reading the post. It is well-known that sugar creates a friendly environment for cancer cells.

#12~ “Which leads to the question: What is it in the high fructose diet that IS creating the toxic effect?” / "ENZYMES are proteins that help speed up chemical reactions in our bodies. Enzymes are essential for digestion, liver function and much more. Too much or too little of a certain enzyme can cause health problems. Enzymes in our blood can also help healthcare providers check for injuries and diseases." Perhaps the answer MAY be due to enzymes that are added to create high-fructose corn syrup: “High-fructose corn syrup is derived from cornstarch, which is first broken down to create a substance that is 100% glucose. MAKERS THEN ADD ENZYMES TO THAT MIX to turn some of that glucose into another type of sugar, fructose, which is also found in your favorite fruits. So, high-fructose corn syrup is a mix of glucose, and typically, between 42% and 55% fructose, according to the FDA.” If there are any Ldotters with medical/scientific credentials reading the question raised, their expertise in responding to the question would be most welcome.
