Theodore Olson, a conservative American lawyer who helped Republican George W. Bush secure the presidency in the legal battle over the 2000 U.S. election and went on to argue successfully on behalf of same-sex marriage, died on Wednesday at age 84, his law firm said. A constitutional lawyer who served as U.S. solicitor general under Bush and in the U.S. Justice Department under President Ronald Reagan, Olson argued 65 cases at the U.S. Supreme Court, his firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher said. The firm did not give a cause of death.

FTA: "Olson's third wife, Barbara, a conservative legal analyst, was a passenger on American Airlines Flight 77, which crashed into the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001." Also FTA: "This year, Olson supported a plea agreement reached in August between the U.S. government and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who is accused of masterminding the Sept. 11 attacks, and two of his accomplices. Ted Olson went to the dark side after the death of his wife, the lovely, intelligent patriot, Barbara, (who, btw, was a close personal friend of our Lucianne.)

Best thing he ever did was choose Barbara. She was for sure his better half. And a courageous lady in facing her certain death. RIP. Barbara. And Lucianne, whose firefighter son worked at Ground Zero on 9/11.

The U.S. Air Force on Friday awarded Capt. Lacie “Sonic” Hester and Maj. Benjamin “Irish” Coffey the Silver Star, America’s third-highest combat honor, for their heroism in intercepting over 70 Iranian drones threatening Israel during Tehran’s assault in April. The operation, conducted by U.S. air and naval forces, unfolded in complete darkness. “When we were getting our brief to go fly that night, we still had no idea,” Hester told CNN, describing the perilous maneuvers and courage required to counter the drone swarm. “It could have just been a bust — just another sortie of flying in a circle, waiting for it to happen.” Hester became the first woman

The Pentagon on Friday failed its seventh audit in a row, with the nation’s largest government agency still unable to fully account for its more than $824 billion budget, though officials stress they are making good progress toward a clean audit in 2028. The Department of Defense technically earned a disclaimer of opinion, meaning it failed to provide sufficient information to auditors to form an accurate opinion. The goal is to earn an unmodified audit opinion, or a clean audit that says the financial statements are accurate. A qualified opinion says there are omissions and concerns but the finances are generally reliable.

The once and future President Donald Trump was wrong about one thing: "We’re going to win so much, you’re going to be so sick and tired of winning'" Not me. The White House, the Senate, the House, the popular vote, a state legislative and mayoral majority, all on top of the Supreme Court majority... George Clooney retiring from politics and late-night TV hosts like Jimmy Kimmel literally crying on television. It’s all too good to be true. The decisive wipeout of Vice President Kamala Harris was a rebuke of the stale misandristic Democratic Party and everything they represent: woke; envy; censorship; bureaucracy; elite sanctimony; corporate collusion and war.

I said before that an intraparty civil war may be brewing in the Democratic Party in the wake of the Republican Party’s tremendous victory in the 2024 elections. And evidence continues to build. Everyone is looking to blame someone for the loss. Fingers have been pointed at Joe Biden for not dropping out earlier, Kamala Harris for running a terrible campaign, and Tim Walz for being Tim Walz. The party’s problems appear to be getting worse, as Pelosi is now being told to “take a seat” and get out of the way. Among other issues, Pelosi faces mounting criticism from her Democrat colleagues for publicly undermining

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher stated that “Democrats run for office as if the voters don’t live here, as if they don’t go to the grocery store and Starbucks and the office. But they do. They live here, and they actually see women and people of color, and it doesn’t look like some patriarchal, racist nightmare.” And “The basis for Democratic campaigns has become, we’re the smart people. That we know from the get-go. No need to look into that.” And criticized the “intellectual incest” of the party. Maher began his closing monologue by stating, “Someone must tell the usual suspects on the far left

Democrats in deep blue states are already drawing up plans to thwart President-elect Donald Trump's attempts to fix illegal immigration in America. The plan? Simply refusing to enforce the law, according to a New York Times report published on Saturday. The Times notes that the resistance party is seeking to pivot away from silly protests involving "pink knit caps and homemade signs" and instead will "tune out" the new President when he enters the Oval Office. "As they face this tough political landscape, Democratic officials, activists and ambitious politicians are seeking to build their second wave of opposition to Mr. Trump from the places that they still control: deep-blue states," they write.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Iran provided a written assurance to the Biden administration last month that it would not seek to assassinate then-GOP nominee Donald Trump. The October 14 message was aimed at easing tensions between Tehran and Washington ahead of Trump’s potential return. The message was in response to a written warning that the US sent Iran in September that Washington would consider an attempt on Trump’s life as an act of war.

Well, well, well. Remember when Israel agreed to US terms to avoid nuclear sites while retaliating for Iran's massive ballistic missile attack? It turns out that the Iranians' attempts to play cute with the IAEA gave Israel an opening to destroy a key research facility -- and leave the Iranians unable to complain about it. When the Iranians first began pursuing nuclear weapons, much of that work took place at a facility in Parchin. After their program got exposed, the Iranians shuttered Parchin and moved that work into more defensible locations. The Iranians have insisted ever since that Parchin no longer played an active role in nuclear research, but

According to the current tabulation posted by the Associated Press, Republican Dave McCormick defeated incumbent Democrat Bob Casey by more than 24,000 votes in Pennsylvania’s Senate contest. The AP called the race for McCormick last week. However, the margin falls just under 0.5 percent of the total and thus triggers a recount under Pennsylvania law. It shouldn’t be possible to pick up 24,000 votes in a recount and Casey could have waived it, but he is represented by Russia hoax fraudster Marc Elias and has other plans. He seeks to alter the result by persuading friendly authorities to count illegal ballots.

The Times reported that Harris's support would mostly come from Democratic voters, with 72% indicating they would be very or somewhat likely to back her for governor. In contrast

The vast majority aren’t dangerous, and many have lived and worked in the U.S. for years.
