President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris celebrated the news that the International Longshoremen’s Association union had temporarily paused their strike until after the election.
The union ended their three-day strike until January 15, after reaching a temporary agreement with the U.S. Maritime Alliance.
The port employers offered workers to increase wages by 62 percent, according to reports, which helped reach a 'tentative agreement.'The video player is currently playing an ad. You can skip the ad in 5 sec with a mouse or keyboard

Another shift in their policies. Leftists love it when unions strike and wreak havoc on the economy.

Obviously polling and focus groups showed that this was a losing issue for Cammy. Thus, they backed off.

A 63% pay off gained in 3 days is not a bad deal either.

I believe that 62% is amortized (hopefully that’s the right word ) over 5 years.

62% over 6 years is 10.3% per year, and that is only to Jan 15, 2025. Social security gets 2.5% this year -- but that is Chinese math, as medicare premiums, out of pocket caps, copays, and coinsurance are increasing by 150%, and more. You will be getting that notice from medicare soon, if you haven't already. The news has not covered the medicare cost rise, because they don't cover anything negative for Biden/Harris and/or it was not in the Democrat Party talking points. Yes, I am suggesting the media don't work. Daggett certainly impressed as a statesman, ignoring the plight of hurricane victims, all with his vulgarity and ugliness, his $900K salary, and Bentley. I wonder if the left will be condemning Daggett's crude behavior -- or do they just attribute that to people they don't like, whether true or not, which is a meaningless test for them.

I wonder what sort of "warm fuzzies" Kamala offered the union. Hope she has a dozen of them since all unions will clamor for them.

Pretty shady- I suspect that the democrats either bribed or threatened that corrupt union president with the DoJ.

Surprise!!...looks like someone told the strikers you have to stop the picketing...now...or else....it's good for the people now because the toilet paper was vanishing from the store shelves...and the democrats didn't want to look bad because of all the shortages....right before the election...they have their tentacles in everyone's business...

All that pompous bluster from Daggett and it ends being a 3 day " strike " ? Who was paid off and what behind the scenes deals were made ?

3 months to lay in supplies and prepare.
Gives Trump a head start on how to handle this and appoint appropriate cabinet members. Pay close attention to Dept heads of Labor, Transportation and Commerce.

Because of the very quick resolution to a politicly damaging strike during the run up to a contentious Presidential election, I have no doubt that the president of the International Longshoremen's Association, Harold Daggett, will be named as Kamala Harris's choice for Secretary of labor!!!

Just returned from Costco where at least 1/3 of the carts were overflowing w tp and paper towels. Guess they missed the memo that the strike has been changed to a more convenient time. Or hey, since this is Tucson, it could be that they just walked across the border and some non-thinking do-gooder handed them a Costco card with a student loan application. Or something.

small wonder ruined communities have to swim out to sea- to find a pencil to ''apply''
for disaster money the misery-guts of a gov't wont give out to those who lose everything.
gee, just like it was all pre-arranged or somesuch.
when they were tossing around c-vid funds, taxpayers had to make applications and
beware of unintended tax consequences, so it seemed.
the marathon killer in prison had no such inconveniences. he got the dosh.
