Assassination attempts on Trump fuel distrust
of the government

The repeated attempts on former President Donald Trump’s life have deepened conservatives’ distrust of the government and the criminal justice system, including suspicions that Democrats and high-ranking officials are rooting for attempted assassins. White House officials aren’t backing off their rhetoric. A day after the assassination attempt Sunday, they framed Mr. Trump as “dangerous” and a “threat” to Democracy. At the same time, Republicans are intensifying scrutiny of the Secret Service and whether it is purposefully leaving the former president vulnerable. Rep. Elijah Crane, Arizona Republican, said Mr. Trump should increase his use of private bodyguards rather than rely on government agents to protect him.

Yep, nobody trusts the FBI on this, and the SS has been found out to be full of incompetents, promoted on DEI basis, not by merit.

Just wait until after the election. If Trump wins, there are a lot of people who don't want him alive on inauguration day. And not all of them are Americans.

Hezbollah: Pagercide an 'Act of War' After

Did Hassan Nasrallah learn a lesson from the last two days? Losing over 3,000 operatives in a 48-hour period over your own incompetent strategic planning and execution should have provided an impulse toward introspection, at the very least. Right? Apparently not. While the leader of Hezbollah acknowledged that Israel's Pagercide dealt them a "severe blow," Nasrallah insisted that he would continue chucking missiles at northern Israel, as his terror army has done for the last eleven months. Oh, and he also complained that exploding pagers were "an act of war," too: Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah called the two days of deadly blasts linked to electronic devices

Mark Robinson, the controversial and socially conservative Republican nominee for governor of North Carolina, made a series of inflammatory comments on a pornography website’s message board more than a decade ago, in which he referred to himself as a “black NAZI!” and expressed support for reinstating slavery, a CNN KFile investigation found. Despite a recent history of anti-transgender rhetoric, Robinson said he enjoyed watching transgender pornography, a review of archived messages found in which he also referred to himself as a “perv.” The comments, which Robinson denies making, predate his entry into politics

Hezbollah has accused Israel of crossing “all red lines” with its deadly detonation of walkie-talkies and pagers, as Israeli forces launched a fresh wave of strikes across Lebanon. Sonic booms from low-flying Israeli jets shook the buildings in Beirut during a televised speech by the militant group’s leader Hassan Nasrallah in which he warned this week’s unprecedented action “could be called a declaration of war”. Israel has yet to confirm or deny it was behind the remote explosions, which killed at least 37 people including two children. More than 3,000 people were also wounded, according to the Lebanese health ministry, whose top medics told The Independent that they were struggling

WASHINGTON — Until recently, Lillian Dunsmuir of Bullhead City, Arizona, “didn’t really think about” Kamala Harris and had no opinion of the vice president. But now she likes what she’s seeing. “She’s funny. I think she’s very smart. She can speak well,” said Dunsmuir, a 58-year-old real estate agent. “I would feel safe with her because I think she can handle herself with foreign leaders. I like her because she’s for pro-choice, and so am I.” Voters view Harris slightly more favorably than they did in July, just after President Joe Biden dropped out

Vice President Kamala Harris will deliver an address in Georgia blaming former President Donald Trump for two deaths in Georgia that, she will claim, were due to the state’s abortion laws, but where the causal links are dubious. Georgia has banned abortions after six weeks of pregnancy. The New York Times reported Wednesday that Harris intends to give a speech based on claims by ProPublica, a liberal outlet, that the law caused the deaths of two women. The Times said: Vice President Kamala Harris will give remarks in Atlanta on Friday focused on the stories of two Georgia mothers whose deaths she has argued show the consequences of the strict abortion

Vice President Kamala Harris continues to lead former president Donald Trump in the key battleground state of Pennsylvania, according to a new post-debate poll, while the race remains a dead heat nationally. Half of Pennsylvanians said they would vote for Harris if the election were held today compared to 46 percent who said they’d back Trump, according to a set of polls conducted by the New York Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and Siena College in the week after the September 10 ABC News debate. Harris’s 4-point lead is slightly outside the Pennsylvania survey’s margin of error of 3.8 percentage points.

Former President Trump’s favorability rating has risen by 5 percentage points in the past month, according to a survey released Wednesday. The Gallup poll shows Trump’s favorability has bounced back in September, returning to June levels — before President Biden withdrew from the race. Roughly 46 percent of respondents had a favorable view of the GOP nominee in the latest survey, compared to 41 percent in August. Harris, who rose to the top of the ticket after Biden stepped aside, saw a dip in her favorability — dropping from 47 percent to 44 percent in the recent poll. Despite the fluctuation in favorability, the pollster suggests both White House candidates are underwater

WASHINGTON – The Federal Reserve on Wednesday enacted its first interest rate cut since the early days of the Covid pandemic, slicing half a percentage point off benchmark rates in an effort to head off a slowdown in the labor market. With both the jobs picture and inflation softening, the central bank's Federal Open Market Committee chose to lower its key overnight borrowing rate by a half percentage point, or 50 basis points, affirming market expectations that had recently shifted from an outlook for a cut half that size. Outside of the emergency rate cuts during Covid, the last time the FOMC cut by half a point was in 2008

Three people were killed in Lebanon's Bekaa region, the state news agency reported, and dozens of people were wounded in the latest device blast. At least one of the blasts took place near a funeral organized by Iran-backed Hezbollah for those killed the previous day when thousands of pagers used by the group exploded across the country and wounded many of the group's fighters.

California lawmakers passed a bill at the end of August that would make it illegal to sell a gas stove that is manufactured or sold online on or after Jan. 1, 2025, or sold in a store, "unless the gas stove bears an adhesive label attached in a conspicuous location," according to the text of the bill.
