High LDL (otherwise known as ‘bad’) cholesterol is considered a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke, which together claim over 850,000 lives each year in the United States. Hence, great efforts are expended in identifying high LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol in patients, and in lowering their levels. But is cholesterol—and LDL cholesterol in particular—really the arch enemy of health that we’ve been led to believe? “A person that has good, healthy levels of cholesterol means that their biochemical system is working in this particular spot—in terms of cholesterol regulation and (cholesterol) transport,” says biochemical researcher, Dr. Dayan Goodenowe.

Yes OP, statins are a scam and produce innumerable health problems, not the least of which is liver damage. The body needs cholesterol to synthesize Vid D. Research is showing many health issues related to low fat diets, including Alzheimer’s.

The brain menufacture its own (needed) cholesterol because cholesterol cannot cross the blood/brain barrier. But statins can and do cross the blood/brain barrier into the brain.. So...think about it.

My doctor says it’s not LDL but VLDL (very low density lipoproteins) that damage. It’s LDL that oxidizes and causes damage. Makes me take a nasty power of vegetables and fruits that is absolutely stuffed with antioxidants and polyphenols. Anyway I have zero plaque and calcification.

I've had a few battles with drs wanting to put me on statins. My cholesterol was in the high 200's at times. I never took them. My cholesterol did drop 40 points tho when I was put on Eliquis. Go figure. But thirty years later, I'm still here.

Two days on a statin and I was almost in a wheelchair. It took two months for the pain to subside and my legs to start working properly. So they started me on something else. Legs are ok now, but on the days when I dont take all those blasted pills I feel a lot better.

It's the same story with what they call "high blood pressure" with the most recent danger threshold being 120. In both conditions, the medicine causes more damage than the condition. If you aren't overweight, don't get headaches, dizziness or nosebleeds and can run a few miles without collapsing, you are good to go.

I remember the medical geniuses telling us in the 1980's, "Don't eat eggs." It was at that point we knew the Medical Establishment had grown into a bunch of "eggheads" who had nary a lick of "common sense." God gave us an almost perfect food by way of the fowls. Those medical gurus have only grown worse and worse over the years. They're a complete joke.

Former President Donald Trump suggested on the evening of Aug. 25 that he may skip a Sept. 10 ABC News debate with Vice President Kamala Harris amid dueling statements issued by both campaigns about whether the microphone should be muted. Trump wrote on Truth Social that he did not like how the network’s Jonathan Karl handled an interview with Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) on Aug. 25, questioning ABC’s capacity to be impartial. Trump then wrote, “Why would I do the debate against Kamala Harris on that network?”

Gov. Katie Hobbs’, D-Ariz., unilateral designation of state agencies as voter registration and ballot drop-off locations is unconstitutional, a lawsuit filed Thursday alleges. Brought by Arizona GOP Chair Gina Swoboda and two state voters, the suit challenges the legality of two executive orders issued by Hobbs in November 2023 that authorized “certain new state agencies [to serve] as locations where a person can register to vote and drop off completed ballots.” Among the agencies directed to “make voter registration forms” and other election-related information available are the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry and Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections.

Democrat presidential and vice presidential nominees Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Here are 31 questions, broken down by larger themes, that CNN’s Dana Bash could and should ask the duo during the joint interview: ECONOMY: 1. Price controls typically result in shortages. Are your price control proposals for groceries not going to just create empty aisles and shelves? 2. Will providing every first-time home buyer with $25,000 cause the prices of homes to soar by a similar amount, rendering such an effort futile?

A Tennessee 10-year-old was expelled from school for a full year after he pointed his finger in the shape of a gun and made mock "machine gun" noises, according to a ProPublica investigation. The boy was expelled as part of a "zero tolerance" law in Tennessee that mandates any student who makes a threat of "mass violence" be expelled for at least one year. While the law, originally signed in 2023—following a shooting by a former student at a private school in Nashville—was recently amended to direct schools to expel students only for "valid" threats, the provisions of the law are still vague, and schools have considerable enforcement leeway.

A conservative-backed push for stricter proof-of-citizenship requirements for voting could complicate efforts to avert a government shutdown next month. But calls are growing among House conservatives to use that must-pass measure to force consideration of a partisan bill aimed at barring noncitizens from voting — laying the groundwork for a clash with the Democratic-led Senate, which would likely reject such a package.
