Why Democrats’ convention set them up

All icing and no cake. That’s the only way to describe the Democratic National Convention that mercifully ended Thursday night with Kamala Harris’s acceptance speech as the party’s improbable nominee. The icing, of course, was all the joy shoved down America’s collective throats from Chicago, a city where more than two dozen have been shot since the convention began, all without a care in the world about the state of the country. On Night Three alone, the word “joy” was said 30 times by various speakers. But that wasn’t close to the word uttered most from podium. Instead, the gold medal goes to a name: Trump.

I can only hope, but there are millions of brain dead idiots in the country who lap up this crap like a cat laps up milk. And I’m sorry, I’ll never feel comfortable that the Dems will steal this no matter what.

I feel the same as #1. A fair election and Trumps wins comfortably. We all know it won't be fair. The Democrats will do anything to hold onto power...anything... and her VP is just as bad.. They have nominated/picked an empty pantsuit. I can only hope the RNC is somehow able to stop the worst of the coming vote fraud.

Given Kamala's latest misstep, taking her emotional support governor to her first "interview", I see hope on the horizon. She may simply implode in incompetence.

Problem with Kamala's long anticipated (LOL) sit down interview: it will be taped. Thanks to editing, she will be seen in a better light than she really is.

How Trump Can Win On Energy: Zero Energy Poverty 0 replies

Kamala Harris and her new running mate, Tim Walz, will impoverish America. That’s the best way to understand one of their most important – yet least-known – policy pipe dreams. As vice president, Harris has backed so-called “net zero,” which means offsetting every iota of manmade greenhouse gases. Walz, as governor, has pushed one of the most aggressive net-zero policies in America, mandating no carbon emissions in Minnesota by 2040. This promise is economic suicide. Not only is it unachievable, but ramping up unreliable and costly energy sources like wind and solar while eliminating reliable and affordable options like natural gas and nuclear power is disastrous.

In 2008, when Barack Obama was running for president, he flat out lied about opposing gay marriage based on his deep Christian beliefs. We know this because in a book published in 2015, former senior adviser to the president David Axelrod described Obama, after such a speech, complaining to him, "I’m just not very good at bulls---ing." It turns out he actually was pretty good at it. Today the American people have to ask themselves how good Vice President Kamala Harris is at B.S. as she seeks to transform herself from a San Francisco progressive into a blue-dog centrist Democrat.

A current top campaign adviser for VP Kamala Harris was deeply involved in pushing Facebook to suppress "misinformation" in an effort to control the political narrative on COVID and other issues. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted in a letter on Monday while expressing regret that his company, Facebook, was pressured by the Biden-Harris administration to censor Americans, particularly regarding COVID-19 content, bringing to the forefront actions taken by Harris' deputy campaign manager Rob Flaherty as part of that pressure campaign. Flaherty, who previously served as the White House director of digital strategy, helped lead the campaign to target alleged "misinformation" relating to the COVID-19 virus and its vaccinations

During the 2016 presidential campaign, tens of millions of Americans turned away from the two elitist, entrenched political parties and toward then-New York City businessman Donald Trump. They did so like someone drowning in turbulent waters who is suddenly thrown a lifeline. Support for Trump became a survival instinct for the millions who viewed him as their last hope. Come 2023 and 2024, millions of Americans cast their eyes toward Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Like Trump, they saw him as a non-politician who could not be cowered or controlled by the special interests. They saw Kennedy as a truthteller who would fight for them against the elites in both parties.

A new poll indicates a deadlocked Senate race in Maryland, where Republicans are aiming to flip a long-held Democrat seat in an overwhelmingly blue state in a key contest that may decide if the GOP wins back the chamber's majority. Former two-term Gov. Larry Hogan - the Republican nominee in the race - and Democratic nominee Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks both stand at 46% support among likely voters in Maryland, according to an AARP public opinion survey released on Tuesday. Seven percent were undecided, according to the survey conducted Aug. 14-20.

The state of Mississippi is spending over $100 million on illegal immigration, according to a new report by the state -- with the governor blaming it on an "intentional failure" by the Biden-Harris administration to secure the border. The report by the Mississippi state auditor found that there are at least 22,000 illegal immigrants in the state. Analysts estimate that it costs taxpayers over $100 million annually, with more than $25 million to educate illegal immigrants in public school alone. Meanwhile, taxpayers spend $77 million to provide health care for illegal immigrants and their children, and another $1.7 million to incarcerate illegal immigrant criminals, it found.

If past is prologue, Donald Trump will win Pennsylvania. Eight years ago this week, Hillary Clinton led in Pennsylvania by more than nine points; four years ago, Joe Biden led by nearly six points. Clinton lost Pennsylvania by less than a point, while Biden won it by more than a point. Heading into the Democratic National Convention, the Emerson/RealClearPennsylvania poll showed Trump leading Vice President Kamala Harris by a point. Averaging together the Pennsylvania polling taken since Harris became the Democratic Party’s nominee, the state’s presidential race is a dead heat.

Trump’s narrow 2016 victory in Michigan, where he won by just 10,704 votes (0.22%), marked the first time a Republican had claimed the state’s 16 electoral votes since George H. W. Bush in 1988. However, in 2020, he lost the state by 154,181 votes, or 2.78%. The question now looms: Can he reclaim the Great Lakes State in 2024? Historically, polls have often underestimated Trump’s performance in Michigan while overestimating that of his Democratic opponents. As baseball legend Yogi Berra famously said, "It ain't over till it's over." This adage holds especially true for the three tier-1 swing states: Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.

A Tennessee 10-year-old was expelled from school for a full year after he pointed his finger in the shape of a gun and made mock "machine gun" noises, according to a ProPublica investigation. The boy was expelled as part of a "zero tolerance" law in Tennessee that mandates any student who makes a threat of "mass violence" be expelled for at least one year. While the law, originally signed in 2023—following a shooting by a former student at a private school in Nashville—was recently amended to direct schools to expel students only for "valid" threats, the provisions of the law are still vague, and schools have considerable enforcement leeway.

Democrat presidential and vice presidential nominees Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz are set to engage in their first sit-down interview on Thursday with CNN, more than a month after Harris became the presumptive nominee. Here are 31 questions, broken down by larger themes, that CNN’s Dana Bash could and should ask the duo during the joint interview: ECONOMY: 1. Price controls typically result in shortages. Are your price control proposals for groceries not going to just create empty aisles and shelves? 2. Will providing every first-time home buyer with $25,000 cause the prices of homes to soar by a similar amount, rendering such an effort futile?

Savannah, Ga.—Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, will sit down Thursday for their first major television interview of their presidential campaign as the duo travels in southeast Georgia on a bus tour. The interview with CNN’s Dana Bash will give Harris a chance to quell criticism that she has eschewed uncontrolled environments, while also giving her a fresh platform to define her campaign and test her political mettle ahead of an upcoming debate with former President Donald Trump set for Sept. 10. But it also carries risk as her team tries to build on momentum from the ticket shakeup following Joe Biden’s exit

A conservative-backed push for stricter proof-of-citizenship requirements for voting could complicate efforts to avert a government shutdown next month. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have acknowledged a stopgap of some kind, also known as a continuing resolution (CR), will be necessary to keep the government funded past Sept. 30. But calls are growing among House conservatives to use that must-pass measure to force consideration of a partisan bill aimed at barring noncitizens from voting — laying the groundwork for a clash with the Democratic-led Senate, which would likely reject such a package.

The California legislature passed a bill banning local governments from adopting voter identification laws for local elections. California does not require identification to vote, but earlier this year, the City of Huntington Beach approved a voter ID requirement for municipal elections starting in 2026. This bill would override Huntington Beach’s policy. “An overwhelming body of evidence proves that voter ID laws only subvert voter turnout and create barriers to law abiding voters,” wrote bill author State Sen. Dave Min, D-Irvine.
