For the past few days, rumors and reports have indicated that the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics was going to downwardly revise their assessment of the number of jobs created from April 2023 to March 2024 “by up to 1 million. This means that all ‘beats’ recorded in the past year will have been misses and the US job market is in far worse shape than the admin[istration] would admit.”
The revision is out, and while it’s not quite a million, it’s still really darn high — 818,000 fewer jobs created in that yearlong period than were initially reported.

As the saying goes, close enough for government work... Watch the legacy media dismiss this correction (if they report it at all, that is).

Here is how The Hill reported the massive error: ''Trump claims expected jobs data correction is pro-Democrat conspiracy''
Instead of focusing on the government error, they choose to make it about Trump and a supposed conspiracy theory.

You can’t even get an accurate time of day from the federal government! This over bloated, ineffective, incompetent government has got to be reduced in size by 75%.

Wouldn't it be more truthful to just say that once again, the Biden Administration has lied to the American public about the number of jobs created by almost one million. Joe and Kamala's rosy jobs reports were just fabrications and fantasy, just like Kamala Harris' record of achievements and qualifications. I understand some kind of small adjustments, but 1,000,000?

The article misses the real impact of what the jobs report reveals. The BLS discovered these non-existing jobs in their revision by comparing the company numbers to the number of employees paying state unemployment insurance fees. This insurance pool is used to pay laid-off workers. Unauthorized immigrant workers paid in cash don't pay into the unemployment insurance pool. This means the insurance will run out of money sooner for legal workers and immediately force unauthorized workers onto general welfare funds when the economy goes into a recession in the future. Thanks Joe and Kamala.

Par for the course when a Democrat administration controls the data.
I can recall when Clinton was in the WH, they regularly just added hundreds of thousands of jobs each month under the pretense of not capturing all of them. Wall Street ate them up and never questioned them.
Not sure how their revisions went.

This was an election surprise in case Trump won election. Then they could blame Trump for the downturn.

Is a Department of Labor actually an essential part of our governance?
I am unable to identify any portion of the Constitution of the United states that mentions a Department of Labor.

The government numbers were all wrong...and now the truth is out there...but...every household in America know just how bad the biden/harris regime has been for 4 years...and no amount of twisting the numbers in their favor...works...even the fake news are getting worried about the numbers...now let's see how many illegal aliens crossed the border...thanks to obama and his muslim buddies....

Just illustrates more clearly the need to have Elon Musk at the head of the new D.O.G.E.*
Cut government by 75% and efficiency should become the norm.

These so called mistakes always benefit the democrats, never the republicans. Remember the Census in 2020 and the exaggerated numbers for the Blue States that gave them more Congressmen/women? These government agencies are being controlled by the Left. And the Left always gets away with the fraud. No one ever pays the price for the corruption. Evil!
