We're now getting some new details about how Democrats pressured Joe Biden to drop out of the presidential race. We previously reported that there was talk about invoking the 25th Amendment, but new details, assuming they are true, add another layer of intrigue.
According to veteran Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh, who has written for The New Yorker and The New York Times, there is no way you can describe what happened to Biden as anything but a coup.
Here's how it went down, following Biden's shortened visit to Las Vegas on July 17, according to Hersh:

When it comes to political attacks, there are two basic PR strategies. The first is the most obvious and intuitive: Hit your opponent where he is the weakest. Don’t overthink it; just do it. If your opponent has a reputation for having a glass jaw, it would be foolish to work his body.
The second is less intuitive because it seems contradictory: It’s hitting your opponent in an area vulnerable to you – and doing so in a way that parallels how you’ll be attacked. Its underlying theory is that you’d probably be attacked on this issue anyway, so at least we’re defining it on your own (favorable) terms.

Yes, you read that right.
According to the website Michigan News Source, the group Republican Voters Against Trump is rolling out a campaign featuring disgruntled GOP voters who are standing with Kamala Harris this election. "Fiddlesticks," say you? Watch the ad below, says I. [Video]
In addition to the ad above, Michigan News Source said the PAC had started a $500,000 billboard campaign in several swing states. The campaign is aimed at getting Trump voters to switch sides (and presumably sell their souls) and join Team Harris.
The campaign includes 76 billboards showing alleged former Trump voters from Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin with the message:

A disturbed Virginia tween with an interest in snuff films and animal cruelty called in more than 20 violent threats to several Florida schools in May — including one in which he said there were two bombs at an elementary school, and he’d “shoot every police officer that responded,” authorities in the Sunshine State said.
The so-called “juvenile terrorist” — who hasn’t been identified because he’s a minor — was arrested July 19 in Henrico County, Va., about two months after an alleged nine-day spree of phone calls that mostly targeted a handful of schools in Flagler County, Fla.

If you thought the incompetence and disgrace of the Olympic opening ceremony was limited to grotesque parodies of the Last Supper and strongly suggestive bisexual threesomes, you would be wrong.
In addition to all that, they also raised the Olympic flag upside down. [Tweet, video]
Members of the French military raised the flag with the two rings (supposed to be at the bottom) on the top of the famous Olympic emblem.
It was an honest mistake, to be sure. Had this been the only mistake or outrage during the opening ceremony, Olympic organizers could have called the whole thing mainly a success.

Soon after Joe Biden dropped out of the race, he endorsed Kamala Harris as his successor, and within a day and a half, she reportedly had secured support from enough delegates to win the nomination at the Democrats' upcoming convention. I'm not sure if that really means anything anymore, since Joe Biden had earned the necessary delegates democratically through the primary election process, and he's no longer in the race.
Call me crazy, but I won't believe Harris will be the nominee until she formally accepts the nomination. Why? Because there are whispers that Democrats aren't exactly jazzed about her being the nominee, either,

Kamala Harris is descended from an owner of 120-plus slaves who ran a Jamaican plantation and fought against the abolition of the abhorrent trade, a British historian claimed today.
The Democrat would-be President is of Indian and Afro-Jamaican descent with her late mother, Shyamala Gopalan, born in Madras, now Chennai, while her father, Donald Harris, is from Jamaica.
The Vice-President's father, a Stanford University academic who is 85, was born in Brown's Town on the Caribbean island – named after Hamilton Brown, who is believed to be Kamala's slave-owning great-great-great-great grandfather.
In an article published by the Jamaica Globe in 2019, Kamala's father Professor Harris wrote: 'My roots go back, within my lifetime,

President Joe Biden’s Secret Service chief Kimberly Cheatle failed to answer whether shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks carried the firearm to the rooftop or if it was already there before the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Cheatle also failed to answer when the last sweep occurred ahead of Trump’s July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
“Director, your agency has a no fail mission, and on Saturday, July 13, your agency spectacularly failed. The failure resulted in the death of Corey Comperatore and serious injury of two other rally attendees,” Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) noted during Monday’s House Oversight Committee at a hearing,

Joe Biden dropped out of the race on Sunday afternoon. Everyone saw his post on X. In a follow-up message on X, Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the presidential nomination, and Democrat leaders began lining up (with the notable exception of Barack Obama) to endorse her. The controversy over Biden’s dementia and ability to perform the duties of president appears to be over, although the nagging and quite large issue remains of whether he is able to perform the duties of president for the next seven months. And yet almost immediately, questions about the way Biden withdrew began to swirl,

Joe Biden’s presidency is over. The old man can’t hack it, announcing earlier this afternoon that he’s exiting the race, endorsing Kamala Harris, his vice president, and finishing the rest of his term in isolation. But where is the president? A tweet of his ‘I quit’ letter was released, which did not sit well with many folks, and then nothing. We’re left to speculate what is going on with Joe Biden, and none of it is good. [Tweets]

Oh, to be a fly on the wall in whatever room the good Doctor Jill is currently pacing.
It actually happened. Joe Biden has succumbed to the pressure campaign from within his own party apparatus and has endorsed Kamala Harris. Assuming the Democrat convention moves forward with her coronation...er, I mean election...expect her campaign to center on three issues: abortion, abortion, and abortion. As of this writing, Biden had won 3904 delegates, whereas 5, 3, and zero had gone to Democratic challengers Jason Palmer, Dean Phillips, and Marianne Williamson, respectively. There were no delegates for Kamala Harris, or for Gretchen Whitmer, Gavin Newsom,

In the hours since Joe Biden conceded defeat in the 2024 election to Donald Trump, there have been a lot of weird things happening. For starters, Kamala Harris is now working to secure support for her presidential bid. Some Democrats, like the Clintons, have endorsed her. Others, like the Obamas, have instead expressed support for some kind of process to select a new ticket.
Manchin 2024?
Perhaps the weirdest thing is that Sen. Joe Manchin (I-W.V.) is now considering reregistering as a Democrat and running for the party’s presidential nomination.
CNN’s Jake Tapper was first to break this development:
