How many times have you heard people say that Donald Trump can be his own worst enemy? How many times have you thought that he could do so much more good if he didn’t get in his own way?
Or, as Ben Domenech puts it at Spectator World, “The attitude is ubiquitous among some portions of the president’s base: they just think he’d be better off if he could focus and not give Democrats so much material. But because this hypothetical has never emerged, we never really got to find out if it was true — until now.”
For the last few weeks, we’ve largely seen that wish come true.

Whomever is keeping Trump more-or-less on "radio silence " deserves a big, big raise.

From the article: "Some people, including my friend and colleague Matt Margolis, viewed Trump’s challenge of a charity golf match with Biden as the potential return of mouthy Trump, but that moment was worthy of no more than a chuckle and a shake of the head — a drop in the bucket compared to what the former president has said in the past."
Yet, Joe Biden can keep throwing out challenges to Donald Trump?

Re #1, nobody tells Trump what to do. He may listen to advisors, but his choices are his own. I think he has become far more politically savvy in the last 3+years. Remember, first time around he was purely a businessman, and his contact with politicians was from a standpoint of him giving them money, and them kissing his butt and treating him nicely, for money. He learned a lot of hard, ugly lessons from dozens of RINO Deep State crooks stabbing him in the back repeatedly after swearing loyalty and support to his face.
He's learned that many/most of them can't be trusted, and that 'private conversations' aren't private.
Much more of an experienced political player now than before.

This is the perfect time for Trump to be seen and heard taking care of business. Doing all the activities a candidate should be doing, but without over the top tweets, sound bites and fanfare. Stay focused, professional and business like, and let the democrat/Biden/media ____show play out.

My son and I were talking about this today. Somebody, maybe Trump himself, has said to cool it with the non-presidential rhetoric and accusations. Hard to do for a Yankee from Queens, NY who grew up in that fierce dog-eat-dog business world but it's a much better look and will be a main factor in propelling him into the Presidency.

Unfortunately, some of his rally clips tell a different story. As he needs to court non-MAGA folks, I don't think his very 'bullying' tone when describing Biden is helping him at this point; I find it to be more of a turnoff now that Biden (clearly not an innocent in any way) is in his current decrepit state.

Yes! Showing restraint! Less belligerence and more nuanced empathy will win the independents who will decide this race. I hope he can find it in his repertoire to face the camera and state sincerely that he doesn't wish ill health on anyone, and that Joe has a reputation of being a dedicated public servant. Those words themselves are generic but they demonstrate that Trump has a heart instead of just a mouth. The Dems are experts with WORDS. Schumer is running around saying, "I'm with Joe." OF COURSE he's WITH Joe! JOE is the one ultimately who will decide whether or not he stays in the race. So when Chuckie says he's with Joe that may sound like he supports him STAYING IN the race, but he's not really SAYING that, is he? In fact, if Joe steps aside Schumer will then claim he's with Joe as he does what's in the country's best interest. Either way, it's a win for Schumer.

I've never been offended by President Trump's straight forwardness. He pretty much had to do much of it just to fight back against the despicable Demonrats, Enemedia, and away too many Rinos.
Having said that, he probably did have to make some adjustments to get the knock-kneed Independents, and way too many Rinos to get their heads out of their nether regions and support him to save the Country.

I hope President Trump continues to gives the Democrats plenty of space to destroy them in this shite storm of their own making. by drawing attention to himself while they self destruct.

He hasn't made me cringe in quite a while, so I thank him for that. I once had a worker who was super productive and a mechanical genius, but he was from Philadelphia or some similar place. His every word sounded like a threat and even when he was happy he was rude. Gave me fits.

Agree with poster 6. No one tells Trump what to do. He is just getting better at it.
