Stephen A. Smith went on a Caitlin Clark-driven WNBA race rant this week, bringing up what he believes her rise has exposed about society, while name-dropping Martin Luther King and Donald Trump.
Smith spoke up about Clark in this instance after Connecticut Sun star DiJonai Carrington had taken issue with Clark's lack of a brash statement to disassociate herself from those using her name to weaponize the spread racism and misogyny.
Clark did push back directly when asked about those claims, but Smith thought the exchange had a larger meaning.

Stephen A's street cred has been questioned by comedian Katt Williams among others and a nerve has been hit. Smith has been acting out lately and it's kind of embarrassing. **Paging Mark Levin**

Smith has always been a loudmouthed twit. Now, he is simply showing his true colors. As if we were ever blind to it before. There is only one remedy - don't watch him.

Aha, Trump Derangement Syndrome rears its ugly head once again.
FTA: "Then Smith brought up the former American President. 'You have somebody that's a presidential candidate. What is his claim to fame? "Make America Great Again"', Smith said referencing Trump. 'What have people interpreted that to mean? "Make America White Again"'."
FTA "'Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and others were trying to make things happen in the '50s, in the '60s, Rosa Parks refusing to give up her seat on the bus, everybody knows that was something that was orchestrated because a bigger issued needed to be addressed,' Smith said about race relations. 'And they had to find the right person to address it. And throughout history, we've seen a plethora of things transpire and take place where an individual had the light shined on them and it was orchestrated and plotted and planned because a bigger message and a bigger issue needed to be addressed,' Smith continued. 'But the right person needed to come a long to give us the license to address it, and it might not have been through their own volition and it happens,' Smith added."
Smith is arguing that Caitlin Clark is a plant of the "white supremacist MAGA" movement to gin up a supposed reversed racism of blacks against whites that doesn't exist. The black WNBA players are just as talented as Clark and are only playing the usual rough game expected at the professional level. It is the racist white media that is hyping the rough play for political purposes. In other words; blacks can only be victims of white racism, they can never be racists themselves!

These race-hustlers make me sick. “Make America white again,” eh? Like cracking a book occasionally is, “acting white”? Is that the water we’re swimming in?
All I can say is we could do worse, if being “white,” includes, like the Smithsonian famously published, titled “Aspects and Assumptions of Whiteness in the United States,” the culture traits of hard work being the key to success, along with objective, rational linear thinking, the nuclear family, progress, respect for authority, and delayed gratification.
That this basketball color guy takes it on himself to make these broad statements is reprehensible. Limit your comments to the game, genius.

The broader issue is that a white girl is beating the black girls at their own game. We didn't mind it when Tiger was on top of the golf world, now did we?

No matter how successful, no matter how popular, no matter how they attempt to hide it.
Blacks are more racist than whites.

Stephen A Smith (who's good friends with another tv nitwit in Sean Hannity) got called out on his show by a Black female sport's "journalist" correctly named Monica McNutt. She doesn't like Caitlin Clark and it shows. He then came to the latter's defense. The powers that be at ESPN, in the WNBA and players/ Clark haters like Diana Turasi, Channedy Carter and Angel Reese called him out on his "caping up" for her. So, what does a spineless, lying no nothing like Smith do. He back peddles quicker than a circus monkey on a unicycle and not only brings race into the dumb rant. He brings up PDJT and MAGA. He's one of the reasons why I haven't watched ESPN since 2010. The have too many woke idiot analysts like Smith on the network. I call ESPN the CNN of sports commentating and his show First Take can take a flying leap into the dumpster fire that is their parent company Disney.

That's right Stephen - never a fan of the WNBA as I don't like watching black lesbians play basketball. And I still won't watch WNBA even with Caitlin as I don't like basketball. Yes, but only whites can be the racists, right Stephen?

Clark is an exception basketball player entering a new arena where politics and favoritism is rampant and not likely to change. For all her talent, she is the new kid on the block.
Arike Ogunbowale of the Dallas Wings took herself out of consideration for the selection of the USA team because of the politics and the protectionism of the established players. She is a three time WNBA All-Star, All-Star Game MVP, two-time ALL-WNBA selection, and Scoring Champion and certainly has the pedigree to be on the Olympic Team.
She is doing a great job for the Wings this year and is a dominant player, but she chose to focus on the team she plays for and not get disappointed if she was not selected by "the system"

"A broader issue".....LOL! Did he really say that. Yep, it's all about broads.
And it sounds like Smith is still pumping the same race baiter hustle.
